Diligently working, Isidora tends to the well of the Halioi people, unaware of her circumstance.

It was months ago now, almost a year even, since the Halioi did settle in the deserts beneath Krugistan’s protection. Their home continued to change, molding to the need of its people to accommodate those who joined them, for there were many, and it ensured that Isidora remained busy.

Isidora stood at the head of it all alongside her husband. She had spent her youth preparing for this- or so she believed. But something began to churn in her stomach. She put it down to loss, anger, and stress. Such feelings needed to be cast aside for the betterment of the people who were now to look up to her; Lothar reminded her that she was a role model, now.

So she went about her duties. Organizing the welcoming of families and individuals who would call this keep their new home, planning celebrations and events, and generally keeping a happy home as best she could.

Her days went by, sunrise to sunset spent working for others, toiling away in the heat of the desert. She loved it, and she never once hid it. But that sickly feeling never subsided.

“Speak to a doctor.”

Isidora I will drag you there myself.”

“Could you be pregnant?”

It was Kathryn's question that made her consider the possibility. Never once had she paused to consider the possibility.. Nor did her body show- physically.

But this sickness, her moods, her change in temperament..

The months passed blurred with duty, but that sickness began to subside, so she cast her worries away. If it was pregnancy, GOD would take care of it all. If it was an illness, then she prayed that it would stay away.

And then the fateful day came.

The labour was long, names cursed into the room from a woman who never dared swear and yet, that evening, anything was allowed.

But in the end.

Oh in the end.

It was worth it all.

The Halioi of Lotharia welcomes a son, whose name bears not only a reminder of the past, but a promise of a future waiting to be carved anew.

Iohannis watched from his mother's arms as the vast multitudes of the court looked at him in wonder. It was too bright and too loud, so he let out a whine.  Yet, after his mother covered his ears with her shawl, the young baron curled back into his mother's bosom and promptly fell asleep.
