Realm of azure, spikes surrounded by a blackened storm that whirled with cries of magenta. This realm. Gedeon returned from it victorious. Ser Honeywine and his good friend, Severus, alongside him. He should not feel ill. Victory was promised, victory was given. Yet still, wariness washed over his brow. 'The cost he thought. 'What will we have to pay?'

The earth roared in response. Waves broke against stone and islands fell.
There was no glory in the battle won today.

A hand came up to the face of the bowie. His cigarette still cherry red with blooming embers. Driving snow and heavy wind tore the smoke from the tip and into the storm as quickly as it burned.

But, for those chosen of Aevos, the Storm always did part.

The birds that could make it through those harsh conditions all carried the same unifying theme:

What the hell is happening.

But it was all as he knew, and all as he saw. In the hollow socket of his head, when he closed his waking eye, he could spy distant visions drawing closer. Clearer.

Aevos, burning.

And the Mountain, tall.

And a decision would have to be made.

Amidst the lowlands of the Midden sat a Dragon Knight of the Chapter of the Night Terror, Gudour. Idly he sat using Lanolin Oil on his, deeply blue, axe that sat upon the desk in front of him. He lathered the layer of the weapon treatment finely along the bladed edge of the axehead.

Courage that day for his men is what prevented any of them from falling, but he himself nearly perished to a cloud of deific miasma, his lungs still stung despite it all being a dream. Within his mind, one heroic moment alongside his Knight Commander, Sirius Mareno, played out.

The Continent was teetering on the edge of cataclysm, The Empire called for Heroes.

Acalmaehr stands by the gates of the Silver City which housed itself on the south of the realms, looking towards the lapping and raving waves that crash against the Volcano Haelun'or sat upon. The Sohaer's steps were tepid as he'd wander across the Eternal Library, looking and scanning across the tomes and creating a stack for himself and others to read through. "We shall endure. For the City is of Silver, and no taint shall breach it, no ailment shall befall of it." spoke the Sohaer, placing quill to ink then paper as he'd write out missives for his precious Ilumiran and Sillumiran the missives sent to all applicable members, new and old, any whose name laid on an old registry within the various documentations of the Motherland.

Although the shores outside our walls are battered and marred; we remain.

To my Sillumiran,

Spoiler

I pen this to you now, you brave warriors whose sacrifices protect our Silver City. Something is stirring across the realms, the rocking of soil beneath our feet, and the cacophony of waves from the storm outside our walls; none of this seems natural, and it is for that reason you must remain on guard. I know not what is to come, or if tomorrow we shall simply sink under the sea, but regardless of either we shall persist. For when taint laps our walls your blades will cut them down, and when oceans rise it will be you all who work our moorings and evacuate our civilians to safety.

Signed,

Acalmaehr Calith, Sohaer of the Silver City

To my Illumiran,

Spoiler

It is without a doubt that something foul plays outside our walls. You are my Ilumiran, my most studious and those who are not simply teetering with power and prowess but sparking with it. It is time to channel it, temper it. Your talents will be called for, your minds picked and your thoughts gathered. Expect studies and ventures outside our walls, for we must head out, to protect within. I will be working with many of you on methods of a less mundane defence. Arcane ability will be paramount, practice your spells and channel your Arcana for it must flow free when the time is right.

Signed,

Acalmaehr Calith, Sohaer of the Silver City

The missive reached Thalis as she entered the Bastion of Cerulia, the sound of the raging blizzard could still be heard in the distance, only a few dozen meters away from her home. Her heavy cloak hung frozen stiff on her small form, its fabric no longer providing her any warmth.

Thalis had known the tundra to be a fierce place, years of experience and many expeditions within the snowbound lands had proven to her that there was danger to the beauty.

And so, when the earth trembled and shook and the blizzards that plagued Ailmere grew fiercer, Thalis took her dogs and donned her heaviest cloak, as she set out to find what had happened.

Thalis had once thought herself used to the cold, her many explorations of Ailmere having given her the experience to survive the endless cold, able to travel through the heavy snow with relative ease. And yet… not a few dozen meters away from Cerulia, Thalis found herself against a wind more fierce and freezing than what she had ever felt before.

The closer she got to the mountain the colder it became. Like a hand made of ice was reaching within her to grip her heart pushing her to turn back before she froze to death.

Now in the warmth of her home, Thalis hung her heavy cloak, the fabric frozen stiff from the ice, in a corner. She took the missive to her desk and sat down with heavy movements to read through it. “A good decision. We will need all the training we can get.” she dipped her head in approval.
