Generally with the situation with the group I think being referred to that is a case of RP being RP. If you do shit in an area, and you don’t relocate and don’t change your patterns someone’s gonna find out, just unlucky it was a coherent armed force in the area. You can’t really antagonize anyone and then be upset you get antagonized in return imo. Best you can do is be cool about it as I have learned.

This is the principal thing right.

 

If you're conducting villainy, you have to consider the following things:

 

Intrinsic Motivation: Why is your character willing to break the law? Typically has to do with the character's own identity and outlook as an individual. 

Extrinsic Motivation: Is your character being extrinsically coerced or motivated by somebody or something else?

To neatly tie up a subplot, there has to be a cohesive end to the role-play. In my view, if my character were to be executed by somebody, I'd stop attacking them unprovoked. Another example is if I heist somebody but die during the heist, it would be bad faith to keep on heisting that location when I've already died there. Some of these things are reinforced by rules, others are reinforced socially.
