“YOU, WHO OPENED SUNS IN MY HEART

༻⊰───────────────────────── ༓︎༻𖤓༺︎༓ ─────────────────────────⊱༺

[!] THIS PART IS A NARRATIVE POST, PLEASE DO NOT METAGAME ITS CONTENTS. [!]

It was 1876, the first time they met. Oren was bustling with people, the city alive and noisy. Save for her. She was sitting alone at a table outside of the tavern in Vienne, watching the world in silence. It was one she was used to, and she kept company in it with a dog at her side. And that was when he approached. A boy her age, scrawny but well kept. He smiled and attempted to introduce himself, but his words were lost to the unhearing girl. But despite his shyness, he asked her to teach him how to communicate to her; how to be her friend. And she did. A trilogy was written, called The Basics of Sign Language. At the time, neither of them knew how widespread those books would become; how helpful the knowledge would be to others who were unable to hear or speak. And neither of them knew how entwined they would have become in each other’s lives.

The two fell in love, as teenagers so often did. Even after he was robbed of his sight, they acted as each other’s pillars. He as her ears, and she as his eyes. They weathered every storm together, and early into their twenties, everyone expected them to wed. There was no great wealth or noble titles that accompanied their relationship, as Orenian pairings so typically revolved around. But there was love, and that is what so greatly mattered to them.

It was 1884 when their world shifted. The great Kingdom of Oren, thought eternal, had fallen to the Barony of Acre. Forced to flee, that lovestruck couple were torn in different directions; the boy to the Principality of Sedan with the Jazlowieckis, and the girl to Celia’nor to join her parents and half-brother. And just like Oren, they thought it was over. Life would carry them in different directions, with challenges and unknown forces that meant to kill them both, and failed.

In the year of 1960, they met for a second time. They both looked different–the ages had weathered and scarred them. They had both been damned in their own ways, but after so long, all they felt was relief they had been reunited. They were quick to rekindle what was lost; to go back to how things used to be. With both her hearing and his sight restored, both were sure that this second chance at love would be worth it.

It was bumpy, at first. Having been separated for almost eighty years, they were bound to have drastically changed. They tried to put their differences and flaws aside. They even welcomed a son together, one they both loved dearly. But the effort wasn’t enough. The fights grew louder, more violent, more hurtful. And at last, the thread snapped. In pieces once more, they broke away and went their separate ways. And now their child was left in the divided home his parents had left behind.

Another fifty-six years passed. The pair, once full of love, had run into each other a few times, and each interaction was full of an uncharacteristic bitterness and hatred considering their beginnings. But, as fate had intended, the two had been reconnected once more. It was 2016; the boy, now a man, had a daughter. And the girl, now a woman herself, had two other daughters. In a tired, more hopeful manner, they put their differences aside. They called themselves friends, if nothing else, so that their children could know their siblings and have the family they dreamed of having nearly 150 years prior.

It didn’t take long for that friendship, not unlike the one that blossomed in Oren, to grow into something else. Love, once more. It was not like the first love born of two teenagers, nor like the second that was scavenged in a foolish last-ditch effort to hold onto the past. No, this love was stronger. It was accepting, and it was patient. They took their steps slowly, together, and allowed their family to grow once more. A youngest daughter born to the two, surrounded not this time by the shards of a broken home, but of two loving parents and a strong village to help raise her.

It was 2040. 164 years since Juniper and Hanzo first met. And in the peace and quiet of their home, did they speak:

Hanzo cleared his throat; if it weren’t for the fact he would definitely fall over, he would have gotten on one knee. Instead, he presented to her a small, intricate box, and opened the cover to reveal the engagement ring. “I know I should have done this over a century ago, and I know our journey up until this point has been less than smooth… we’ve had our ups and downs, tried to kill each other here and there, but truly there is no one else I’d rather spend eternity with. There is no one else but you I would rather have by my side as nations fall and crumble.” A warm smile appeared upon his features. “Juniper, would you do me the honor of making me the happiest man on the continent and become my wife?”

Juniper laughed, but this time, it was accompanied by a stifled sob. She beamed from ear to ear as she laid eyes upon the ring. “Yes, absolutely I would,” She managed, taking a step forth to take Hanzo’s hands in hers. “It’s all I’ve wanted to say since we were eighteen.

Carefully, Hanzo took the ring from the box, feeling her hand in his as he slid the ring onto her ring finger, and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand thereafter. “Sorry to have made you wait so long.”

It was worth it. I would’ve waited another two hundred years if you asked me to,” Juniper said, her eyes glued to the new ring on her finger. “It’s beautiful, Hanzo. Oh– I love it so much. I love you.”

“And I love you, Juniper,” He responded.

It’s with quiet joy and open hearts that we announce the union of Juniper & Hanzo. A pair whose love has grown with time, steady and sure, shaped by the years and all they have weathered together. Those who know their story also know how long this loving union has been awaited, and how happy the bride and groom are to share their joy with their loved ones.

The Ceremony will take place just outside Lotharia, in a clearing under open sky. Friends and loved ones are invited to witness this moment, to stand with them as they mark the start of a new chapter. Afterwards, we shall gather by the shoreline, a beachside reception where the evening will unfold simply with good food and music.

Arthur, in his delightful retirement, threw a paper airplane directly at Manon, containing the envelope,

"How fancy do you suppose we dress, knowing this one?"

A sunglasses wearing shinobi smiled while reading the missive. Despite his organization’s past differences with the sender, he was happy that Juniper overcame her previous prejudice by finding love in this ‘Hanzo’. It was all just business after all.

”this is growth,” he commented quietly to himself and continues to browse missives in the late hours after his work was complete seeking another trail of information to follow. He beared a lighter heart and some hope for the future that evening while the world was on fire.

Oswald Kingsley smiled upon reading the letter, almost bringing a tear to his eye.

Though not noting a public invitation for himself, Lanre Cerusil does remember he is not loved by most of the world. He pets the aging horse of High Priest Caius, Faygo, who shies away from him. The mage nods, and a rippling of red energies manifest a set of hairstylist's tools into his hands, which he places carefully into the horse's packs. "It'll be just like Kaethul." the void-lich says, smiling.

Maddock smiled as he read this, only to realize..."WAIT THEY'RE WEREN'T ALREADY MARRIED?! They acted like they were married already since I've known them!" He decides it'd be nice to go, especially with Cindy. After all, it was Juniper who made them their wedding ring.

A passing look was given to the missive, and Reinhard smiled, at least - for who he thought it might be. In his own world, secreted way, he wished her well.
