Aegis - an ancient land of mysterious beauty, where beings of all races and creeds have roamed for the past 1300 years. Great kingdoms have been formed, rulers made and unmade, lives created and lost... And throughout living memory, Aegis has always been plagued by the Undead, the servants of Iblees intent on corrupting our world. Our fight has gone uphill and downhill; great victories have been won, but terrible losses have occured, as well.

Now, though, our situation seems gloomy as ever. The four main nations have developed relationships filled with tension and mistrust. The Undead run rampant while the Ascended try to recover from the mess of the departed Sages. And all the while, the lives of the peons and peasants have darkened as well, lacking joy and merriment of many yester-years. And of course, a more pressing issue - a shortage of resources. Miners have been put out of work, farmers have had poor harvests, and lumberjacks have too quickly depleted their sources.

Sheer necessity has driven us to go beyond the bounds of our known world. With little left within, we have been driven without...

As many struggles we have faced, as many places we have been, as many stories will be told of our heroic deeds, the limits of Aegis have yet to be discovered. There are incredible landscapes, abundances of resources, and foreign ecosystems to be found. As we begin to expand our reach, no one knows what may fall into our grasp, but the only way to discover is to take the first step... into The Verge.

The Verge is a region of expanded territory of the current map that will soon be released to the public. There will be 1.8 Biomes, of course, and some surprises that you must find for yourself. It's possible that more mines will be opened up in this region.
