[Amendment] Naztherak Disconnection

Unwillingly

Recommended Posts

I have mostly no issue with this but if it's going to be a permenant disconnection I belive it may be wise to make it harder to do the ritual such as having a prerequisite like with djinn needing to break one of the rules they have in place in order to be removed from being a djinn, but this enables someone to connect to the magic and go around and try run naztherack and remove as many people as possible from It ruining the fun for anyone who dosent want to be or isn't a zar'akaal but this at the end of the day is just an opinion

I see how it could be good for Certain people, but i just mostly see this getting abused and getting really toxic with some groups instead of good roleplay

I'm more certain than not that this whole thing was written to give a massive advantage to groups that own zarakaal. While I don't know if Unwillingly wrote it specifically for that purpose, what else can I think of that's against simplifying second chances by permanently disabling them?

If you're not certain about the facts, it's probably best not to create a narrative that unfairly casts someone as the villain, especially when that person has already explained themselves multiple times across the replies given lol. Unwillingly has clearly outlined both her reasoning for suggesting the amendment and how it doesn't benefit her personally. It's completely fair to disagree with her position, but that can be done without insulting her integrity

Frostdrop1 actually illustrates the point perfectly through their own contradiction: "It's a little something called temptation??? The hells were already unforgiving when not returning anything." Exactly. So why would the Lords of Hell continue to empower someone whose soul is already promised to them, especially after they've proven themselves too weak to hold onto that power in the first place? Weakness includes being reckless enough to let your identity become so exposed that rival covens are now actively hunting you

Even beyond that, there are some Zar'akals & Naztheraks that want the existence of their kind to be kept as secretive or elusive as possible. There's no one to blame but themselves if a Naztherak gets their identity exposed one way or another, unless it was undeniable metagaming. Being leaked by a supposed ally is no fun at times, I understand that-- but that's why disguises exist with alteration alchemy, or even just throwing on a cloak and changing your character's name for a few hours

Really, this amendment serves to forge people that are far more smart about who learns of their identity & how to go about evading detection

Additionally, this is 100% an OOC ploy to try and gain control over the Naz community as a whole.

lol

Anyway, goated ammendment. I hope it passes. We need to make Naz evil again.

Just an addition cause I just now finished reading everything; jesus christ some of you DESPERATELY need to touch grass. Naztherak is the hardest ******* dark magic to expose. Even other Naz don't know you're Naz just cause of a brand. If you get found out and disconnected, that is quite literally the hugest skill issue in existence - it's not like we're necromancers who look like alt right redditors (oily and decrepit) or mystics that look like they chainsmoked 50 cigarettes - Naztherak are regular ass mfs. Stop bitching and whining about 'ooc plots'. You just suck at hiding.

The real goof in a place where people have already put in so much work is that someone is against giving these people a second chance to repay their hard work even if it means losing most of their progress lol. If you catch someone again and disconnect them, then maybe you can count that as a success.

The 3 AM example is something I'm suggesting is reasonable, giving players at least a "second" chance at a piece of lore they love and enjoy playing, rather than permanently losing access. If you catch someone a "second time" and disconnect them, it becomes their problem. But considering something like permanent spell slot loss, I still don't understand why you're saying "just once, but thoroughly."

Man, 4 months is a really long time anyway. You only get one second chance to reconnect, and you're starting back at tier 1. That's giving that player the chance to continue participating in the lore they love, at a huge cost.

You do not play magics on LOTC, you play characters. It's a common misconception that a lot of people make, and I don't think your argument is entirely baseless, but when you accept certain magics on a character, you are willingly taking on the risks, potentials, benefits, costs, etc, that come with it. Magic is inherently tied to your character: what comes of their journey with it is of their own making. Some people become really powerful. Others hardly use the magic. Some are killed for it. Others lose it or choose to walk away from it. People's efforts should be recognized, and I agree that it should maybe be a bit more difficult to do a disconnection, but the server is ultimately an experiment at making a collaborative story. Sometimes your character will be fucked over, and it'll suck, but you can always make a new character or explore new opportunities with your current one. Getting dc'd from Naz provided me with so many more interesting opportunities for RP than I thought possible, and gave my character a cool arc to play out.

And to be quite honest, even if this amendment WERE solely to give Unwillingly more power (which it's not), I actually don't think that's a bad thing. She would be exposing her character to the same level of risk, if not more, and players with a desire to up the ante in the Naz community and really shake things up (as they should be doing) would have the tools to do so. Maintaining a status quo for too long is the death knell of basically any niche of RP on the server, so I support any measure that makes it easier to throw a wrench in the system and create new and interesting RP that challenges characters.

The infernal compendium and the nature of the patrons themselves indicates why they wouldnt want some weakling to wield their magic again after losing it. "The weak are meat and the strong do eat" is the general nature of demonic CAs and MAs

I agree, if Zar'akals and Naztherak want to gatekeep it they should, like i said earlier the power of the literal ring leaders of hell shouldnt be taken on or given out so lightly

So I'm only a recent addition to the overall Naz community, but this is something you don't need to part of the community of to have an opinion about.

Because this doesn't just go from "This is what Naz is about," but further is in line with: "Is this Toxic IRP or Toxic OOC," this amendment change in my opinion will not do any good for the overall naztherak community, as a Naz you are meant to be Toxic, but this is meant to be kept in the bounds of IRP, you are meant to do these things because you have IRP reason, to make a story for your character and whatever person you're disconnecting.

This rather feels like a secondary OOC gutpunch that only really fucks them over on an OOC level and will create innumerous amounts of Drama that the Naztherak community already has too much of.

This is not beneficial to the roleplay group, this will be detrimental and could even in my opinion ruin the magic in its entirety, if not further put a deep mark on the community of: "Don't partake with this group and that group! They're toxic on an OOC level, there is always drama, it's not fun, it's traumatic and mentally taxin" <- this is a sentence truthfully said to me, and this amendment will only prove to make it worse.

the zarrokul do not care about any particular individual or group infernal entity on aevos. To claim they’d uphold any particular individuals choice to DC by preventing them from reconnecting is a bit self centered. They do not care, so long as they have your soul and you do their work. The whole point is for warlocks and mortal plane bound Zar’akal to squabble and never rise against the pentacle, and therefore serve them.

your lore reasoning does not vibe with what Moz is basically
