  1. 1. Should there be any form or implementation of food expiry on LOTC?

    • Yes
    • No
    • Yes, but only if serving the purposes of a greater plugin or system
  2. 2. Which foods should expire the quickest?

    • Readily available foods like bread and other infinite farmables
    • Foods that are rate-limited by breeding, e.g. beef or chicken
    • Expiration timers should only adhere to the criterion that PVP foods should expire quicker than non-PVP foods.
    • Expiration timers should only adhere to the criterion that PVP foods should expire slower than non-PVP foods.
    • All foods should expire at the same rate.
  3. 3. Should all foods expire?

    • Yes
    • No, only infinite farmables such as bread.
    • No, only PVP foods.
    • No, only foods from the greater food plugins being developed.
  4. 4. How do you think food expiry will impact your LOTC gameplay?

    • It will significantly dampen my enjoyment of LOTC.
    • I will barely notice it.
    • It will enhance RP by causing people to farm and share food more often, or otherwise.
    • It will hurt RP by forcing interaction with food to become menial and inconvenient, or otherwise.
    • It will have a significant negative effect on PVP.
    • It will have a significant positive effect on PVP.
    • I am staff and plan to sit in /god all day

Tick multiple if needed, also this one is public so tech can look at demographics so keep that in mind

When trying to interpret the results keep in mind some people will vote for multiple choices and the % will be against the total number of votes

Sorry, can we pause RP?

My food is about to expire so I need to get some more before I starve to death mid emote.

as one of the people who has been most vocally against it, i don't think it's going to ruin the server. i think it will, most of the time, just be a very minor annoyance.

it is less so the plugin itself, but moreso the disconnect from how the server is actually played and baffling ideas about how it's going to positively impact the server, on top of how the playerbase was actively ignored in the weeks of polling before the plugin was fully announced/showcased that is problematic.

it is something that exists only the moderately annoy the players. it won't create chef rp (one of the most common current types of roleplay on the server might i add), it won't create farming roleplay (none of the people saying it will enable an entire farming class actually want to be farmers, they just want farmers to serve them), and with the food bag added it'll barely even affect pvp at large, thus entirely negating the entire thing it was actually supposed to do, in theory.

(also, at one point, a tech team member genuinely tried to convince us that it would improve feast rp, because people will notice the food was crafted that day, and comment on it's freshness. as if all the food wouldn't have been made far in advance and /nerf'd in order to be edited with a description. i genuinely do not understand how one thinks this would become commonplace and notable enough to justify the entire mechanic.)

it's more of a cornerstone of baffling choices that the powers that be continuously push out than an actual breaking point for the playability in the server.

As a Community Team member, I personally carry extra food for folks in the event I get a CREQ for it or someone asks in QOOC/LOOC/SOOC. Because of food expiry, I'll have to keep track of where in the food is in its "lifecycle" so I can make sure I'm not tossing pinktags rotten food.

As someone that interacts with the ShowAndSell Plugin as a seller and a buyer, this affects how long you can keep PVP food and other mechanical foodstuffs on your shelves.

Truth be told I do not care much for the expiration plug-in. For those who don’t like it, it will be a minor inconvenience at worst. I just applaud the staff for actually trying to develop plugins and make the server more mechanical. If a food expiration plugin on Minecraft tweakes you out so much it’s time to put the mouse down, go outside, hug a loved one, touch grass, read a nice book, have a negroni, have two.

Putting down beef n chicken (especally in raw form) makes sense. Would incentivise someone to preserve higher saturation ingrediances or meals.i e drying racks or salt preserves. Or hell SMOKING meats would work.

I just don't remember it being the devastating deal everyone is making it out to be, back when we had Nexus

In a general sense, I'm not wholly against having mechanics added to the server, but the thing I look at is how it provides and generates RP. The other thing to keep in mind is that what the majority of players want is max realism, or if they would prefer the mechanics to be fun additions to the server and not just needless chores that get in the way of interacting with other players. From what the stated reasoning was to include the food expiry, I'm not sure if it would actually achieve what is in mind, that being nations hoarding vaults of food, and instead only cause Nations to really force their players to start breeding animals at a higher rate around wartime to make up for the fact that food now expires. The other factor I think players are worried about is if this plugin will actually be maintained, as Surge was very ambitious and had much planned for it in the way of skill trees and such, but was completely reduced down to GUI crafting for PvP equipment and other special equipment.

You can edit foods that aren't nerfed.

Also for those reading this, Daisy has already decided to make hunger/sat have slower decay while non-statused. This means if you're RP'ing, you'll need less food now to begin with.
