In the Year 256, the House van Aert announces the passing of its prince, Coenraed van Aert.

In the early hours, Coenraed had attempted his ascent towards Blackvales castle, but his heart, burdened by his age, hadn’t the strength to bear the long walk. He passed peacefully as he would have wished, with food in hand and in the company of his daughter and granddaughter at the foot of his favoured shrine.

A funeral service and a feast in the fallen prince's honour will be announced in due time, once the family have been given time to deal with this loss.

With his passing, Martius van Aert succeeds him as Prince of Blackvale.

May Coenraed rest in peace, a tribute to his passing added to the spot where he passed.

The Count of Whitewood sends his sincerest respects and most solemn regards to the house van Aert. "He was a good man, and without him we would be without a home. May he rest in peace, and may the new Prince rule successfully."

Circe had never witnessed death before. Her brows knit with horror as the old, bloated man collapsed against the stone monument, his face blotched red, sweat dripping down the folds of his three chins. She stood frozen, panic and revulsion rooting her in place.

Amid the jagged quiet between her mother’s sobs, she turned to the redhead at her side and murmured, hollow and dazed, “He never even made it inside his keep…” @Parasolii

Earoslav eyes the Alliance Treaty "My God, tis it time for another EXTENDED Treaty signing?" He unrolls a scroll with both Coenrad van Aert and Tiberias Van Aert's signatures "Lets just tack this on..." He added taking blank parchment and using industrial horse glue CAREFULLY added it to the already existing document

A wandering soul gazed upon the death. Only asking one question and one question alone, yet before he left the city in cowl without ones sight, he only made a comment. "Now the soulstreams going to get clogged fer ah few eons..."

That mentioned sole daughter of Coenraed could not help but to keep thinking of the man's expression, long after they had gone home. His eyes had been wide with horror - but also a form of peace. Madelief took solace in the thought that now, at least, he was back with his beloved Anne-Roos, her late lady mother.
