[The Infernal Compendium — Addition] Infernal Warlords

The purpose of this addition is to expand the roleplay avenues available to dedicated inferis players by giving them a small toolkit geared towards creating independent warbands.

Ra’Tulkhurz

(The Climb)

Although appropriated by modern generations of Naztherak and the Dark Shamans of yore, immolation originated as a natural phenomenon where roving hordes of inferi would assimilate living descendants and other soul-bearing beings across the veil into their infernal climb.

[1] Evolved zar’ei, assisted by [2] player zar’ei and or/zevn'kiel, is capable of successfully performing the Naz’kuthun ritual once every [2] OOC weeks. Inferi created or conjured this way are unshackled and observe the mantra of Moz Strimoza rather than a Naztherak master: the weak are meat and the strong do eat.

Redlines:

– Evolved zar’ei do not gain access to shackling, revival, NPCs in any capacity, or in-hand summons as these are abilities unique to Naztherak which attempt to magically imitate the natural order of Moz Strimoza.

– Whilst naturally unbound, these inferi are not immune to shackling and–as a price for this freedom–are prone to banishment from the get-go. Furthermore, although an inferis may be incentivized to follow their creator, this is not magically enforced. Treachery and backstabbing is a natural feature of the infernal climb.

– Inferi made through Ra'Tulkhurz must be marked on the leader's [CA].

– Naz’kuthun functions identically to the ritual’s mechanics as found in Naztherak

– All ritual participants are subject to the [2] OOC week cooldown.

These amendments are contingent on the addition’s implementation:

Banishment

Change:

Banishment is a rite of inherent knowledge to all Naztherak; requiring [3] Naztherak or [1] Naztherak and [2] Evolved Inferi to complete

To:

Banishment is a rite of inherent knowledge to all Naztherak; requiring [3] Naztherak, [1] Naztherak and [2] Evolved Inferi, or [1] Evolved Zar’ei and [3] Evolved Zar’ei and/or zevn'kiel to complete.

And add as a redline:

— Banishment must be taught either by direct instruction from another inferi or naztherak who knows Banishment, or by participating in the Banishment ritual itself.

Zevnka Ascension

Change:

To do so, [5] soul fragments must be consumed- requiring a sole Naztherak to enwreathe the Zevn with [30] maleus, permitting it to go through the horribly painful process of morphing into this greater state.

To:

And add as a redline:

— All evolved zar'ei who participate in the ascension ritual are subject to a [1] OOC month cooldown.

Zezimar Ascension

Change:

To do so, [7] soul fragments must be consumed- requiring a sole Naztherak to enwreathe the Zar’ei with [50] maleus, permitting it to go through the horribly painful process of morphing into one of the three.

Yes please.

Inferi are the backbone of the niche both in worldlore and most mundane characters' visible RP interactions with it.

Those dedicated to the demon grind deserve the tools to create roleplay; CA player characters are not one dimensional NPC summons, and in the case of inferi specifically, rebellion and expansion is entirely on theme.

The lore of an infernal creature being that it buys into the Climb as much as any naztherak, if not more, but being physically incapable of actually growing in power (freedom, prestige from being its own creature accomplishing stuff, etc) due to its reliance upon a Naztherak to keep it around has always felt at odds. I think this is a good amendement.

Serious take

I agree with all of this save banishment. As far as I see it, Banishment is a inherently naztherak thing given naztherak are both separate from moz and exclusive to Aos/Eos. Banishment doesn't make sense for inferi to have [if inferi are in moz and banishment returns them to moz, how would banishment work in moz?]. Maybe im missing an understanding of how moz as a plane works or the climb as it actually is in lore but from how ive had it explained banishment just is a naz thing, specifically.

I agree, it doesn't make sense for devils to be able to vanish!
