Your image formatting makes your post unreadable

When you make a forum post, with the content of the forum post just being an image you have formatted to be, admittedly, a work of art, you are making it unreadable for many people. For starters, mobile users, which is the vast majority of users, have a hard time reading anything. Additionally, folks with visual impairments or other disabilities that rely on screen readers have little to no chance to understand the content. 

 

There is a simple solution. Post your fancy image formatting, yes. But at the end, put a spoiler with the unformatted plaintext. It will take you just a few more seconds and vastly increase the amount of the playerbase who can enjoy your content. 

 

Also, images break for a variety of reasons. Five years from now, when roleplay historians are digging up whatever missive you posted, they will find a broken image link. Your content will be lost to time. By pasting plaintext too, you preserve it for posterity.

i especially like it when an image post is hosted on imgur so i cant even read it without using a vpn (i dont care enough abt ur wedding to turn my vpn on)

Some of these image-only posts are truly gorgeous and immersive, and I commend them all for the effort and atristry.

But yeah. I had one earlier tonight that I had to enhance to read even on my PC.

 

A spoiler text at the bottom would be perfect.

Image formatting is god awful slop. If you wanna do some fancy formatting do proper text, not an image of text. It doesn’t allow for quoting, copying, or editing. It’s also not even that great to read, most of the time. At least with regular formatslop I can just view it in another font, which is impossible to do with images
