I'm incredibly impressed hick significantly outlived my Cardinal. That man had more lives than a cat, and more durability then reinforced steel. We lost a good one today folks... </3

Spuds had seen Hick not to long ago. Passing him in mineral rich caves without saying hello. The mouseman just like that time so short ago that will eventually become so long ago moved on. No tears given, a gasp neither. Nihilism was not the answer either. For what could answer  this but to keep going like everyone else? Death was never special and only talks about it were short lived.

When Livius heard the news, he was sitting by the fire in the tavern of Norland. It had been in the tavern on Aevos, where he'd had so many long conversations with Hick, and if memory served him correctly, it had been where he'd met the old man for the first time. He hadn't thought much of him back then, just an old man seeking a place to stay, he'd thought.

Yet to Livius's surprise, he'd found in him not only a close, dear friend but also one of the bravest men he'd known. A task not easily accomplished in a land where he was surrounded by famous warriors. And what a way Hick had become that man Livius would grow to respect! Hick had already been at an age when most humans start to consider their retirement when he began his transformation into the great man he'd become. Coincidentally, it was around the age Livius was now himself, and now that he felt the pressure of all those years on his own shoulders, he was even more impressed by all his friend had accomplished.

He didn't cry as he reminisced; instead, a gentle smile formed on his face that so rarely was seen on his features these days. "Goodbye, old friend." He spoke quietly, barely louder than the crackles of the fireplace before him, as he fell back into his memories of their times together.

"Don't cause too much trouble alright?"

Those were the last words Malna spoke to the man, a bright smile on her face as she planned to make something the next time they met. There was no next time, and there wouldn't be any more gifts, dances, or laughs together. The only thing left was a simple novice portrait, along with the almost 50 others she kept with her or on the walls of her home.

There was a small bit of text at the bottom

"The best old troublemaker I knew."
