[✗] Blisterbark Ammendment

As the writer of the OC Vampire Wood I say:

This is fine. My wording was a bit vague, and that was my mistake since I just wanted to get the lore out. I tried to speak with Mordu (Moroi writer) during map dev about any issues that he may have had, though did not receive any negative feedback prior to, or after, posting. This is to not to pass blame onto him in any way; I may have missed any feedback that he did give, or maybe there was miscommunication. Regardless, I forgot about the vague wording and just un-highlighted everything for posting.

Arguments that Blisterwood is the ONLY COUNTER to Moroi, IMO, is silly. You can club their head in, stab them, burn them, use Boomsteel or Dracanium, use Thanhium to disable abilities, etcetera. Blisterwood can be niche for inducing the soft-pk and/or preventing Engorge (Orc Strength), sure. It still has CRP function as an extra sticky barbed arrow (akin to Frost Salt without limb numbing).

Ah. . . I am not sure, I could've sworn it said such when I first saw this a few hours ago. Though Dingo also mentioned st signage, I think femur changed it but idk, could have just had a moment.

In general blisterbark is already an ST-signed herb item, I don't see a particular issue with treating it at some conversion rate of 1 herb for some amount of blisterbark stakes, given that there are 6x nodes regenerating every 3-5 hours iirc. It is an item used to [currently] make a player-signed item to soft-PK a CA, I really don't think its a giant ask to require some accountability in the process of producing probably the easiest soft-PK method by actually giving up 2-3 blisterbark herb reagents and having an ST squint at the items. Alchemy is similarly spamable and gets by with ST signing.

What I think should get a 'no' :

Crank crossbow/longbow compatibility.

I think keeping non-plate piercing bolts/arrows would be preferable and make more sense, as the wood is incredibly brittle. Even if launched out of a crank crossbow/longbow and NOT fragmenting, it'd just break apart on whatever plate it hits me thinks. Having it be able to pierce plate, even if it shatters afterwards, would imply it's iron-sharpness or something. additionally, 'splinters in the wound' sounds less like a downside and moreso a buff/creeps into Morion's niche of fragmentation.

I believe it would be more fun for people to struggle with getting through platemail with the wood, so that more interesting strategies need to be used aside from 'get arrow, shoot guy'. Maybe you use a potion or spell to weaken the plates, then shoot through it.

Also, arrows are already /used when fired according to material compendium. I'm unsure if this applies to player signed materials as well, so you may correct me if i'm wrong on that.

What I think should pass :

The unvague-ification of the post is needed, and letting blisterbark work on other kinds of greater vampire is cool :)

This lore has been denied.

This went to an internal vote and did not pass.
