Forty-four years ago did the House of Valkonen lose its home within the Karoswald of the Haeseni Crownland. Forty-one years ago were the House of Valkonen granted the Barony of Valkanfeldt by the Archduchy. We endured where others did not. My dear Evelina and I ruled hand-in-hand, as equals, as co-rulers, and I still mourn the loss of her every day. For fourty-one years, thus, have I been the Baron of Valkanfeldt.

Yet the succession of Valkanfeldt has for long been up in the air. Our eldest, Milena, chose a different life than that of nobility, and her twin, Magdalena, has risen to become Archduchess of the Commonwealth, in spite of the odds provided to her when we turned refugee. Indeed, while none of them shall take over the mantle of Valkanfeldt, I am still quite proud of my children. All of them, wherever they may roam.

After a conversation with mine cousin-in-law, it was decided that a meeting of the Valkonen family were to happen. At this meeting, it was decided that Ilarion Valkonen would be named as successor to the Barony of Valkanfeldt. I have the utmost of faith that the Blood of Valkan shall continue to endure, and show its worth proudly to the Commonwealth. I forthwith abdicate my title of Baron of Valkanfeldt.

THE LORD, Ilarion Valkonen, Baron of Valkanfeldt.

"I pray, Evelina, that our family is in good hands. I shall do my utmost in aid, to make sure it is" The last mainline Valkonen spoke
