“One would be a fool to deny His Imperial Majesty- He is the Uniter of Men, save for the fools of Beleth. May GOD guide them towards redemption.” Did a one-armed woman comment from within her quarters, smiling peacefully for the first time in months.

Within his chambers, in the keep of Cascanova, a hardworking Basrid boy was told the news by his tutor. Dumbfounded, the boy cackled, and ran to the room of his best friend and the girl he'd soon be the sworn protector of, Anastasia Basileus, to share the news!

"Why did my brother release this?" The Imperial princess was ankle-deep in a lagar, harvested grapes crushed beneath her soles"It's waste of good ink for the dogs of the Horde. Why would I want them to be my neighbour? Don't piss me off with showing this, Owyn."

Annika Konstanze Baruch couldn't help but smirk at the missive. "If only my mother could see this, she would be glad to see the fall of the Peter the Backstabber." She told her nephew Peter von Leopold rightful heir to Huntshill.

A once-Princess, now Baroness, swept her hand over the parchment brought to her by her Basrid companion. Justice at last for the coup of her family, for the trauma she and her siblings had faced. Still, she could not bring herself to smile or truly rejoice.

Lotharia had not returned, nor would it.  But for now, Anastasia let the dull ache in her chest suffice. Beleth had fallen, but the House Basileus did not.

Seeing Beleth's surrender, a sickly woman cheered to the point of laughter. Where did they think a coup would get them? None of those families were ever worth a title. Mostly her old family. She hoped to herself that the Jazlowieckis would be taken down a peg or be no more. Even better if the others who dared to cast out her real family suffered deeply.

Shamizir the Sanguine read the news, however he was not entirely surprised. The Salvian knew well of Peter the backstabber's misdeeds and false pledges, for the traitor was once a man of Old Salvo back on Aevos.

"truly pathetic"

those were the only words he would offer to this forsworn coward before drawing up his own order of execution, to be swiftly carried out by the Rangers of the Republic.
