Current Lore:

Spoiler

[T2] Salination

An inheritance from their treacherous Archon forefather, shared with the siliti of Hazmstadt as Malghourn's safeguard after the Night of the Ten Treacheries, seawater (or artificial saltwater of [3%] concentration or higher) and pure salt of a handful or greater when in contact with open corcituri wounds will feel as hot coals to them; not only amplifying their pain but also causing blood to bubble agonisingly as the salt is dissolved into it.

Though never completely lethal, if salt reaches the bloodstream a corcitură becomes encumbered by pain for [2] emotes to follow, unable to sprint or maintain a magical connection.

Due to their dark rebirth and realignment to Iblees' Nexus, away from Malghourn's Red Nexus (and the Archonic Blood Shards), the marrows of moroi are warped by Ruin against the Stone Serpent's meddling and as a result moroi do not inherit this trait.

◇     Salt and saltwater must be represented by named RP items with the exception of environmental salination, for instance whilst swimming in an ocean or sea. If a character does not possess a mechanical item explicitly described as salt or saltwater prior to the roleplay, it cannot be deployed against a corcitură in this manner.

◇     In the spirit of good faith, “test kits” intended to minimize inventory slots whilst encompassing multiple items and materials would also be insufficient.

◇     Sand, salt of less than a full handful as well as seawater less than a bucket will not suffice in triggering this weakness. In this sense salted or saltwater treated items would also be insufficient.

[T2] Salination

An inheritance from their treacherous Archon forefather, shared with the siliti of Hazmstadt as Malghourn's safeguard after the Night of the Ten Treacheries, seawater (or artificial saltwater of [3%] concentration or higher) and pure salt of a handful or greater when in contact with open corcituri wounds will feel as hot coals to them; amplifying their painnot only amplifying their pain but also causing blood to bubble agonisingly as the salt is dissolved into it.

In addition to the amplified pain mentioned above, due to their cursed inheritance, the corcitură's blood may start to bubble underneath their skin, but only if under the right circumstances. These circumstances requiring a small ritual to be performed, requiring some preparations. The ritual in question requires the suspected corcitură to be fed a mix of salt and fresh blood of their respective race, after being fed the mix in question, they will be forced into their [T1] Transformation  form after [2] emotes , revealing their fangs and claws, effectively ousting them to those watching. They will be unable to hide their vampiric features for [4] emotes following the consumption.

◇     These mixes may not be kept for later, due to the blood growing old and stagnant, coagulating against the salt and losing its effectiveness.

◇     The blood needed in the ousting ritual must be in equal quantity to the handful of salt, as such, one is not able to obtain is a fly from themselves, and requiring proper extraction, affecting the target with a weakness akin to the normal blood extraction of such quantity.

◇     The blood used in the ousting ritual must be fresh, requiring screenshots to be kept and dated. In this context, 'fresh' refers to it being less than 48 OOC hours old.

Helloo! - I have noticed once thing, vampire communities are almost dead! - Why? Well, seeing the lore, they are just way too easy to oust. This is due to players and most nations performing this salt and aurrum cut test right at their gates, this doesn't feel right, but more so just making vampires avoid RP all together.

The propose version still makes it easy to test someone, but it makes people need suspicion instead of being able to gate test everyone entering, allowing Vampires some leniency instead of instant ousting when attempting to enter a city.

hey why's this pink tag posting amendments

Spoiler

im so sorry i had to

but being fr, this is a great change! I've been saying this forever, being able to test vampires for free (don't tell me "but it needs an item" bc that's just one edit token per stack) at every possible gate is dumb and the main thing that's kept me from even considering playing a corc

I agree it needs a change; this seems like a pretty cool way to help, although I feel like this may only increase the immersion break since it basically just transfers an unrealistic willingness to be cut from the person being checked to the person checking.

Edit: Additionally, while this was a real problem while everybody had their gates closed due to war, you can now come and go with almost no issue to 90% of cities. So it might be something to consider for a future war but isn't super necessary at the moment

id trust the vampire lord on this one, no need to remove the one method to find them out (which, mind you, has taken quite a lot of time to be figured out)

little chance ST will consider this change irregardless

yeah I think this is silly a big motivator from the vampire players I've talked to who want to become full Moroi is well of course the power but less likley of getting caught

also something similar to this was proposed a few months ago by someone else and Pallodium vetoed it so the chance of this passing is near nothing

Moroi have the salination bane removed; as a consequence of this they have a gold weakness that is the exact same as this this rewrite (Ex: doesn’t do anything physical, just increases the pain) so whenever I get darkspawn tested on my Moroi I am able to do a fake pass; passing it off as simply having a weak tolerance to getting my hand cut open. If this was to be passed (it won’t, but I do appreciate the effort) it would mean there’s no reason to darkspawn test at all and lowers the already low fear of entering cities as a darkspawn

I really don’t see the slination bane as it is right now as that big of an issue. If you are truly invested into vampirism you will lose it with becoming a moro, and even if you wish to remain a corc then it’s just an obstacle you have to work around. I spent half a year as a corc moving freely in different settlements, strategically avoiding these tests without issue 🤷‍♂️

Salt testing sucks, but this rewrite isn't particularly elegant. There are ways around the salt test, few and far between. The easiest one is just logging onto discord, joining the city you want to join, purchasing a house on discord through a steward, and then applying for citizen's keys. It's unfortunate, but thanks to the modern shape of the server, there are many pathways around actually having to engage in gatehouse "roleplay".

It already hurts like a bitch to get a wound salted to everyone else, this would remove the testing altogether.

This lore has been denied.

At the current moment, LT isn't interested in altering the salination tells in this way.
