onnensr the obvious answer is asuka shes way cooler and her relationship with shinji is far more developed, rei's distant and cold personality makes it hard for me to relate to her.

Rei's cold exterior hides a shy and tender soul. Shinji simply didn't make an effort to get to know her, whereas Asuka was manipulating Shinji for her own ego and helped to place him in a worse mind state. I am sorry Jentos. Also, the miniatures where she has the Spear of Longinus are sick as **** (Though I must admit Asuka looked badass with the eyepatch)

no youre wrong shinji and asuka have that dance montage together and they look very silly and cute together when asuka isnt being the absolute worst piece of shit to my poor 14 year old child soldier with ptsd and an absent father and dead mother shinji

but consider it his, rei is clearly less abusive and also wears blue, which we all know inwardly to be cooler than red, it's literally the color of cold. consider vergil from devil may cry, he's quantifiably cooler than dante - that's why his lines much like rei are more sparing and rare. a hundred quotes from vergil are worth thousands from dante, and the same applies to Rei. she's the archetypal stone cold bad ass, whereas Asuka rants and raves with some cool scenes in between. additionaly, orange fanta is the best fanta. aint nobody trying to slurp on that code red strawberry fanta, it tastes nearly like bile, and asuka is clearly the strawberry parallel to rei's orange
