TEMPLAR AMENDMENT PACK [WARNING: TEMPLARISM AMENDMENT]

I think making changes to templar is fine but I'm gonna take this chance to address my confusion at why there is literally no drawback afaik (I'm a necro so correct me if I'm wrong ) to learning templar, but like why wouldn't someone learn templar if they are a guard only upsides.

people say this all the time, i think being a murder hobo that feels immense shame when someone says "i double dare you to jump off a cliff" is a pretty big drawback

I think a more potent change to templarism would be to give them combative casting similar to scions rather then a change directly to the spells. Other brawler style magics and creatures as well should have something like that tbh

If people say this all the time maybe people are not rping it's effect to a noticeable degree then or maybe its just a bad drawback. I just checked the redline and it says may feel shame which means the players can choose whether it happens or not and I doubt most characters RP themselves being shameful. So basically the drawback is if you want it or not.

This is often loopholed, as I've heard, by the Templar TA "challenging" their student to always resist stupid challenges. That way, they never have to feel any shame.

Also, nearly every single magic has at least one permanent, debilitating detrimental mental effect from Voidstalker narcissism to Seer delusion to Naztherak malice to Azdrazi greed to Blood Magic insanity to Druid technophobia.

The fact that Templars can cleanse their mental debuff is actually a buff compared to every other magic, on top of the fact that they are fear-immune, allowed to wear full plate and cast, come built in with a weapon-based counter to nearly everything, and their previous "weakness" is now a legal excuse to powergame.

Templars are just Knight Plus.

As a Templar I think the solution for this is to just ammend that redline to change the verbage so that it is not optional. There's no reason it should be optional, and Templars shouldn't be allowed to loophole around this or other rules of the magic.

I personally view it as powergaming to NOT rp the shame and or turn down challenges, I second this as a Templar player

Waiter, waiter! My steak is too juicy! My lobster too fat!

Templars and azdrazi are (so far) the only two magics to be pocketed in some manner by LT via “winning” an eventline they were always going to win (Templars were getting a buff either way as was explained post event). These are all buffs with no drawbacks to a magic that is notoriously full of loopholers and powergamers (furious flame testing, challenge avoiding, tatsuwainian blood rituals, etc) that have resulted less in enforcement and more in amendments to prevent and buff because a majority of the Templars doing these behaviors are ST or in closely with ST (a reminder the bird v Lenny dc fight was, per Zhuilk, a case of horrific behavior on the challenger side against bird but was still permitted to stand anyway).

Templars are to deity what void is to magic in general. What struggles have Templars had that requires these? Kinda uncourageous

i don't like that dauntless charge is changed to a horse, admittedly I've just used it twice in separate days. I think my issue with dauntless charge is that it's just not doing what it supposes to do - chase down people and give you a chance to get up & personal.

Mages, for example, can just brisk-step away; I can get easily dodged all the time by people who are just out in the open.

It's not a fun spell, it's really more for just travelling at this point instead of actually hitting **** all.

If you want more details, feel free to ask on this forum - I have a lot of contentions with that particular spell.

interesting how at the time the lenny crowd was very upset with me ooc for defending bird5k's right to use hidden animii blades, make infinite blocks and not killing him from animii bleedout etc. @The Tough Guy got a spike in powerlevel here
