Player of the Week - Gaius Marius

Gaius, an amazing lore writer, and the leader of the infamous Teutonic Order! He has done much for the server, and is a great community member. Congratulations Gaius!

Gaius Marius

Mylas

When did you first step foot into the world of Aegis?

Gaius

Sometime during the middle of august, around August 6th.

Latsi

First coming into the server, how did you expect the server to be and how did it turn out?

Gaius

I came into the server actually not knowing what to expect exactly as this is my first time ‘roleplaying’, thus I did not have expectations, but was very impressed with how the server turned out, being the newbie picking Human race, I went straight to Al’Khazaar, but was picked up by a now disbanded group called the Knights of the Flame and quickly afterwards felt the bitter defeat by the Undead.

Mylas

Do you like how the World of Aegis have evolved?

Gaius

Overall, I have always remained observant and appreciative to how players intelligently wish and accomplish adding more to the World of Aegis. Being the Lore Developer for the Teutonic Order and in-character Leader, I take special interest and like to see how other guilds develop or disband and the reasons and factors involved. I very much like seeing Aegis evolve and appreciate and applaud all who have a helping hand which inevitably is all the players in the server.

Latsi

How do you come up with the idea for the Teutonic Order, and all of its lore?

Gaius

The idea was initially and still is this: The reason to my character that Oren was not able to respond strongly to the Undead threat was not so much that they were Iblees’ worshippers and thus had such powerful magicks, but that the fact that guilds were segmenting Oren’s land piece by piece made it easier for the Undead to actually confront and cause Oren so many problems. Since young age, I have discovered my talent of writing and felt to use it to the fullest by writing this Lore and enjoy writing it.

Mylas

Describe the Teutonic Order for people that don’t know what it is.

Gaius

The Teutonic Order is a Military Order that uses secrecy and tactics to keep the guilds that spring forth from Oren in check and ensure that there is no more segmenting of Oren’s land and that arrogance and greed of land is not their goal. Ultimately the Teutonic Order opened itself to all races as seen by one of the Generals being a Dark Elf.

Latsi

What do you think of Lord of the Craft’s community?

Gaius

No matter how many bones people will have to pick with others, I ultimately feel that the playerbase and community is diverse in many ways and this has a positive function in the fact that you will have suggestions in many fields and additions in many ways that can make other incoming members feel more comfortable getting into the Roleplay.

Mylas

How do you think we can improve Lord of the Craft?

Gaius

Transparency is definitely a plus for this. I feel that some ideas should be revealed to the playerbase and need be discussed, it is imperitive that albeit you may deal with hastily brought up points that don’t help the GM Team, you will most definitely hear great suggestions that can help you all in all. Also a solid concrete response about the state of ‘SubRace suggestions’ can cool down the constant threads in ‘Your Ideas and Lore’ section.

Latsi

What is the most original/amazing thing you have seen someone do on LotC?

Gaius

1. There was an Orc, the name evades me, who was a mute and I really thought it was amazing having to see how he would get into confrontations using his better than average writing ability to taunt and warn his opponents. The way that the Orcs as a whole treated him was great as well.

2. The Orcs with their language, well the Teutonic Order has a language, but that was after we assimilated an ethnic group and some of their members went inactive OOCly so ICly we said that the ethnic group were dying off and they needed a way to keep their traditions alive thus we learnt a ‘language’.

3. Permabanning Jayius? Trololol

Mylas

What is the most original/amazing thing that you have done in LotC other than creating the Teutonic Order?

Gaius

I felt that trying to push for the throne of Oren was quite amazing, the arguments I imposed were well thought out and the actions ensuing were fun for players, holding Edmund’s collar in my hand made me feel like a BAMF  just kidding. Also learning the Orcish culture was great ICly, thank you Warlord Mogroka.

Latsi

Well, that just about wraps it up. Anything else you would like the community to know?

Gaius

Support Realm of Hanseti in 2.0, await the City-State in Aegis and the ideas we have chucking your way!

Repiteo and to anyone else, Forum Message me your Lore/Guild/Subrace ideas and I would love to give feedback. Spoiler Alert: Deathmetus and I are going to write up a Arabesque Subrace for Humans, one to watch for and would not mind patrons taking up this subrace when done.

PS: Repiteo, keep Louisville weird bro! Keep the Ville Weird!

To the Entire Teutonic Order, thank you for participating, keeping to the Lore, and helping me develop. Thank You to Samuel, Mirtok, Viadar, Kai, Vanus, Jorgen, and the many others (Don't want to be Meta-Gamed aye? ;) ). Earnestly, the best RP Groups are a sum of its' parts and to be attempting to wish for applause would be an insult, so I would like to thank all of my members from the very beginning to the newest inductee and to the countless thoughts and tireless hours accumulated towards working on the grand RP ideas for the Teutonic Order and the future Realm of Hanseti. A Damn Fine Job we've done thus far boys and it is an honor collaborating to make this an enjoyable roleplay for all of us in the Black Crosses.

Thank You Teutonic Order.

PS: Mylas, please edit and replace dark elf with wood elf.

PPS: Mirtok, I Love You and Thank You for always playing:
