Hey Everyone,

I'm going to address you not as a robotic representative from LotC today, but as your friend and programmer Vaquxine. Today has been one of the most stressful, awful, terrible, and messed up days I've had to deal with in the server's existence. For those that do not know, The Wandering Wizard, availer, is no longer part of this server. He has been replaced as the server owner by the well known and widely loved wood-elf, shiftnative.

I along with the senior GM's (Tyrion, Shiftnative, Respiren, Arina, etc) have been discussing this situation for a long time; availer's activity on the server has been decreasing more and more. On average availer spends about 5 hours a MONTH online skype talking to us, and when he is online more often than not he's either criticizing us for not doing a good enough job in running and maintaining Lord of the Craft. At the same time, availer was the only person in full control of the server's donation fund; he got all the $ and spent it how he felt was accurate.

A few months ago, I actually approached him about this and requested to be payed on a weekly basis for my "services" which at the time was basically just coding plugins, and has since turned in to running the entire server. I was given ~30% of the weekly income, the rest went "towards the server". Availer made on average $6k/month from donations, and spent $2k/month on the server itself; he pocketed $4k every month for himself, not paying a single member of the GM team with the funds. In fact, when we recently made the switch to Legendary Servers from provision host, he refused to pay me monthly for the server, and said that the weekly paychecks I was receiving should cover it. Mind you, these "paychecks" were about $150~300/week.

Earlier today I got together with the other GM's and we had a long talk about the future of LotC. We felt like it was deign; and we knew why; availer no longer cared about the server, all he cared about was his own agenda and making sure it continued to generate a fair amount of money for his own use.

In the past 2 months, availer has contributed NOTHING to the server. The other GM's and myself have been the ones running the entire server, developing new ideas, and attempting to implement them. The problem was we always had to run all our ideas and planning by availer before we could put anything in effect. On average it would take about 3 weeks to have something full approved by him, as he would send about one message per weekend when he would get on. Now that availer is gone, so is this limitation and; so you can expect some absolutely epic and amazing updates to come in the near future.

After availer heard about all this, he went out of his way to charge-back all payments he has ever made related to the server. So, he charged back over $2,400 from my personal paypal by claiming that his paypal was "hacked" and the transaction were not authorized. I have since filed responses to each of these ELEVEN disputes he made over the past 3 months; and they are awaiting review by paypal. He also (apparently) has charged back over $1,500 that was sent throughout the months to our old host, ProvisionHost who are taking similar steps to resolve this issue.

TL;DR Version :

Availer was holding lord of the craft back from its true potential.

We ousted him, and asked him to step down from his position.

He responded by charging back over $5,000 via paypal to many different people; $2,300 from me personally.

We have now replaced availer with shiftnative as the acting server manager.

Now that availer is gone, and I'm out $2,400 personally; the server is financially broke. If it weren't for the fact that I run the company (Legendary Servers) that hosts us, we would have been shut down permenantly earlier today, as availer charged back payments made to our old hosting company because of his greed. But since I'm here to stay, I will not let this server die. I will host it out of my own mother ******* pocket if I have to, I will not let a community, a server, an experience as great as this be destroyed by the childish and inappropriate actions of a butt-hurt ex-owner of the server. So we may be completely broke now, but that's not going to stop ****. We (the staff) have more heart than ever to continue our efforts in making this the #1 roleplaying, #1 minecraft, #1 gaming community in the god dam world. That being said, since I was the one who coded the entire donation system and site shop; I've changed all the passwords and accounts to those related to the new Aegis Staff; so if you want to show your support to us by donating, please do; the server could really use it after such a blow to our funds.

He invited me onto the team from the minecraft forums, where I built laurelin in a singleplayer map for fun. I spent weeks with him, and 3 others working on Aegis, and being so excited to see it come to life.

Availer had a fabulous persona, one that'll be missed greatly. I learned alot from him I think, and I undoubtedly trusted the man like a brother.

In order to continue a seamlessly ever expanding world, and consistent dynamics something had to change

I think it's about time lord of the craft got a new breath of life into it; and some recent (widely unknown) events relating to the Undead's obtainment of a particularly ancient and powerful relic will put the citizens of Aegis to the ultimate test of survival.

Thank god that Legendary Servers Exist.

It is a sad day, but we must remember that we, the people, shall not be corrupted by greed and malignant things such as what Availer did.

We, as a community, must make sure that the both the GM's and the FM's be responsible for their actions.

We are the 99%, and we should keep improving the server for what it should be. A pinnacle of RP, a zenith of non-metagaming powergaming icons.

An RP maven, a pantheon to rule the servers of yore.

Availer will be missed, but we must move on, as is the cycle of things.
