If your application has been overlooked (not denied) for over three days, please post a link in this thread for review.

http://www.lordofthe...wandering-soul/

If you find a plagiarised application please post in this thread so it may be dealt with - information is below.

A message from NekoDanie:

Due to our rising status, we have been receiving much more applications than we can physically keep up with. Which is very good! We love all new applications. But! In the swarm we have been receiving, we may accidentally overlook one or just might not get to read it as quickly as you would like and for that we apologize. We are getting to as many of them as quickly as we can so please be patient with us.

Somethings you can do so that we can get through applications quicker:

- Before you post your application, read it yourself, re-read it once more after that. Make sure your links work, and make sure it looks neat, clean, presentable, and used the application format. Make use of the Preview Button.

- Do not post more than one application in a time span of 24 hours . If your application was denied, you must wait until twenty-four hours after your most recent denial. This prevents clutter on the forums. Especially when 1 person posts 6 applications repeatedly. You have a maximum of 5 attempts to get accepted, don't waste them by reposting the same application hastily! The means, wait twenty-four hours after the post that denied you, not after the time you posted your application!

- Do not PM Forum moderators about viewing your application, or asking why the application was denied. If you are denied without a reason. It means the reason was more than likely very obvious. Re-read your application and find what was wrong. And re-apply after giving the questions some thought, and reading over our guides and lore.

- Do not spam in Wandering Soul chat. Other than filing through applications we must also help the players that are in game as well. If you spam Wandering Soul chat about viewing your application, than we can not help the players in game, which in turn means we can not view your application quicker.

- Do not bump your application. Applications are organized by LEAST number of replies. Bumping your application effectively puts it last in line; then you complain about it not being seen.

- You may only re-post an application if a reviewer has replied. If your application has not be reviewed after three days, do not re-post the same application. PM a member of the Application Team.

Disregarding these rules will show you have not read our rules and your applications will be locked. Repeat offenders will have their forum accounts temporarily disabled.

Plagiarism

1. You never learn how to Role Play or get to know your character truly. When you take somebody else's work and call it yours, do you really learn anything from that besides that you are a crook and a thief? Even if you can steal things like applications from other players who put time and effort into their applications, how will you know how to play as if you are that character? How will you even know how to Role Play on the server? You won't. Think before you act.

2. Do a few extra hours of your time really matter that much to you that you won't apply for yourself? If you don't have enough time to write out an application of your own, then you probably won't have enough time to play on the server, making you a horrible candidate for ever applying again, which is why you will NOT be allowed to ever apply again. Take the time to apply for the server, it's the first step on the road to becoming a part of the Lord of the Craft community, and if you can't make the first step, you should just turn around and play single player, where you don't have to have any commitment whatsoever.

3. Plagiarism is against the law. I do know that this server is extremely important, ( :D ) but I am afraid that it is not important enough for people to be arrested for plagiarizing an application. I don't even understand how you could push yourself to play on a server like Lord of the Craft knowingly that you stole somebody else's work and ideas, and could at any time confront them and be banned permanently. We have hard workers and a devoted community on this server and to steal from them is completely unacceptable.

4. Permanent banning. The plagiarizing of another persons application to the server will result in being banned from applying, as I have said many times before, so why would you do it? Do you still think that copying that person who got accepted a while back is still a good idea? Make better choices.

I want to clarify a few things about grammar. Honestly, incorrect punctuation kills me, and it also makes you sound unintelligent. Punctuation sort of represents space and delivery, so when I see a bunch of comma splices or fragments or whatever... anyhow, on to the mini-lesson.

Sometimes, the rules are fuzzy, and you can find different authors that will choose different rules. Some rules, however, are pretty universal.

Things not to do:

1. Connect two perfectly complete sentences with a comma.

Example: I hate grammar, I'm really bad at it.

Example: This is a very common mistake that just slays me, please don't do it.

In both of those examples, you should use a period or semicolon.

1a. Breaking up a perfectly complete sentence with a comma.

Example: I was tired after the hike because of the distance, and my lack of endurance.

There should be no comma in the sentence above. However, if this were the sentence:

Example I was tired after the hike because of the distance, and I lack endurance.

The comma would then be correct.

Onwards we go.

2. Write an incomplete sentence and act like it was complete by putting a period. When I read these, it makes very little sense. Look here:

Example: Something I really want. Whenever I see it.

A correct version might be: That is something I really want whenever I see it.

3. Abusing semicolons. (Also known as "Powell Syndrome")

Please don't abuse them, and if you insist on abusing them, at least learn how to properly abuse. There is usually a complete sentence on each side of the semicolon. These sentences are thematically connected. Here is a correct example:

I hope it doesn't snow today; I don't own a coat.

Even using them properly, the semicolon can be dangerous, for it adds a certain pause in the reading. This pause, when used repeatedly, makes the writing sound sort of jumpy and abrupt.

To finish it up, I won't give you a specific rule. Here are simply some incorrect examples with their correct counterparts.

I hate you because, you are dumb. Also I hate you, because you ate my dog. --->

I hate you because you are dumb. Also, I hate you because you ate my dog.

Whenever I see, someone, it makes me, very, angry. --->

Whenever I see someone, it makes me very angry.

Dude; this place; is really awesome; let's go eat; somewhere over there; --->

Dude, this place is really awesome. Let's go eat somewhere over there.

If you catch a mistake that I made, feel free to correct it. Sometimes we break these rules unconsciously, and I know that it's hard. Hopefully this will make you sound a bit smarter and perhaps improve your English grade a bit.
