A Human High Prince?

Citizens of Malinor, as you all know our beloved High Prince Native has stepped down from his position with Indelwehn to replace him as the new High Princess.

Most of you will know that Indelwehn and I are married happily and have been for some time so this intrigued me... Is it now my responsibility to take up the role of High Prince? Is it right for a Human to share leadership of Malinor? Am I wanted as a leader? Of course, the decision lies within the Elven Council, but my concern lies with the people.

I realize that it is near impossible to truly replace Native. However I would be extremely honoured to walk in his footsteps, as his predecessor.

I spend a HUGE majority of time inside of Malinor/Laurelin. I know the roads well, the people well, and the shrooms well. Of course, this comes as a benefit, but at a cost. Some seem to think due to my time spent in Laurelin makes me an Elf. I'm sad to admit that this is not the case. As I am a Human. Now, obviously there is tension between the Elves and the Humans.

As a Ranger of Oren I understand it well as I see the massacres heated debates myself. Before you make your decision, my duties as a Ranger of Oren mean that I will not retire from the Rangers. I am sworn to them. As is the Ranger's motto, " Rangers First ". For those of you who aren't brilliant with words, this means IF I am to become High Prince, I will still be a Ranger of Oren. I can only hope this ceases the catastrophic war boiling around us. I believe my position as High Prince of Malinor and Ranger of Oren will increase the relationship between the Elves and the Humans.

Elves would never be choose a human leader. youve just proved their point that we are too young and naive. If you truly knew these people that you feel you are fit to rule then you never would have even brought up this subject.

I myself am an Elf.. (Dark Elf. But still an Elf who cares for Malinor and its peoplez!) I have known Bircalin for a long while.. He was once a druid who learnt to CARE for the people of Malinor and its creatures. I personally think that a Human Prince would be a benefit to douse the fires of hatred between these two races. Bircykins for High Prince!

((In orc culture, marriage (or life mating in our case) does not equal power. You cannot mate into power and respect. You must earn it.

For instance, I am the mate of Gragarn, the former son of Warlord Mogroka. Mating with him didn't make me an orc princess. Any respect I got was earned, not because of who I mated with but because of what I did.

It would take a lot...A LOT of respect from the people to make you a High Prince. For instance, Loth was accepted as Mogroka's lifemate and our War Mistress. Not because Mogroka loved her, but because the orcs respected her greatly.))

I do not think that this is the way it works with the elves; even if you are married to a princess, it doesn't make you a prince. And for that reason, I do not think you should become the high prince. Besides, there is only one high prince or princess at a time, and right now that is Indelwehn.

I have heard many good things about you but it just wouldn't seem right for you to be the high prince; at least not if the council doesn't choose you as one. Also, as you said, you are a human and your loyalty lies elsewhere.

If you do become the high prince, however, I will give you my full support. After all, you are married to my husband's adoptive mother.
