Prolog

The monks of the Cloud Temple Monastery live in peace with the world, their healing abilities far exceeding that of regular men. They live quietly around the temple and study peacefully in the libraries. In Aegis, these monks were known for their ability to sweep in during a battle and save the souls that if not saved would die forever. They did their work quietly never to be interrupted by the constant conflict that plagued the realm. Only once was their great peace broken and their Temple, destroyed. Ibless destroyed the Cloud Temple in one last fit of rage before falling back to the void. The monks had lost their great home and for a time all fallen souls would be lost. The monks retreated to a new land, Asulon, without fear of Ibless or his dark puppets. No Man, Dwarf, Elf, or Orc has ever truly been introduced to the way of the monks until recently. A small journal was found by a group of looters and raiders during the last hours of Aegis. It was returned and found hidden away some time later in one of the smaller boats that departed from the Verge. As you read these memoirs of a monk by the name of Aselut you will begin to see how a monk thinks and reacts to most situations. You will notice his perspective on some of the events that have all together shaped our history as a whole.

[[There are going to be many stories about Aseluts perspectives on most notable events in the history of the server as well as show an idea of how a true Cloud Temple Monk might think during these events.]]

I. The Orcs

So confusing to us monks in their nature yes! Those Orcs run around beating the Nether out of each other until us monks have to come and intervene all the time! Understandable that the Orcs are naturally ones for liking combat we must also naturally watch over these green-skinned folk. However, the last monk to directly interact with them, by most unfortunate circumstances, was a descendant of Human and Dwarf...a Halfling. Most unfortunate for that young monk when he tried to save the Orc in front of his comrades he was eaten not long after being seen by an Orc.

Since then on we have been very selective as to who we send to save those Orcs as well as constantly looking over the Orcs. We monks admire their kinship and how they show so much honor and compassion for one another, even if they show it by beating each other witless. Looking over them we take notes of their behavior, much like we do to the other races. Comparable to no other race the Orcs speak their own language and care not for the foreign affairs that do not directly influence them.

The Humans

Constantly struggling among their own. Trying to topple each other for power. The Humans show the most emotion of the races and through thick and thin come out and find a way to survive. Being the only non-immortal race we as monks watch them carefully keeping watch over them, making sure they can live their short lives to the fullest. As we observe the sons of Horen we watch carefully how they backstab and betray each other.

It is know that Humans, despite their sense of dominance, are much weaker in comparison to the Orcs and Dwarves. The Elves being different in the sense that they live long lives and aren't as fertile. We observed how the Human Kings came and went, battling each other over seats of power. They revolt against one another constantly tearing each other to pieces in small factions. Humans can adapt to most conditions and however always clawing at each other, survive in spirit throughout the course of time.
