Kal Rog was good, but managed bad and I see what you are saying Bazian, its just that the Dwarves would change and would want trees from Elves and Sand from Orcs.. Idk but they want economy. Here, this would be a small sketch vDPYO.jpg

And this is where RP falls down on this server. It always does here. The emotional ties to OOC based issues. Thorik was not a bad guy, sure he caused problems sometimes but I mean you could have done worse for a king. He managed to do all within his power to keep the dwarves afloat when others without and within tried to pull it down. You can think what you like of him, but I think I'll find that he was one of the best dwarf kings ever. How he managed to juggle all the nation stuff like regions, disputes etc... all the time he put in for this server for YOU. I just find it sickening that you all forced him out, though to be fair the nation leader situation was starting to take its' toll... until finally he gave up and, well... you know the rest...

Just so you're aware, the majority of Dwarves in no way blame Thorik for what happened. As a former Dwarf and one of those who was closest to him from the time in which he was Lord Marshall, up until the end of Aegis, I can actually say that he originally, did not want to become King because he didn't wish to take on such as large a responsibility as basically building the Dwarves up from the relatively inactive race that we were. The fact that he did anyway and ended up serving as our longest serving King says something in my opinion.

Regardless of what happened in Asulon, up until the end of Aegis, the majority of Dwarves I have spoken with were very pleased with the position we were in whilst he was King and the Grand Council was running things. It was only after the OOC drama began to kick in that people got annoyed and started leaving for new RP. If I'm honest, I have to agree with Blundermore about this... everyone needs to stop accusing each other and instead focus on improving RP for future Dwarves.

As for the debate over whether or not we should really be interacting with non-Dwarves, I do admit that the Dwarven RP was far better when the majority of Dwarves remained in Kal'Urguan and very rarely travelled out to the other cities. As well as being far more realistic in my opinion, there was a better sense of being a properly functioning Dwarven community. I think the important thing is to make sure that there is a balance between making sure Dwarves stay and RP in the city, but also keeping up relations with other nations so that it doesn't turn into a situation where nobody is getting the chance to RP with the other races. That's just my opinion anyway.

More like a medevil market about 200 blocks away from the entrance for our trade down.

I dont want to do Kal'Urguan, it might be a good idea but still, it is just not the right thing to do seeing as it would bring activity close to Dwarves, not to Dwarves themselves. And what I am doing is by following the lore as much as possible still, having the trade be RIGHT on top of us.

If you must have a place above ground for trading, don't build walls for it. Have it as a small village erected over a city. Kinda like suburbs.

I'll think about that. I thought maybe have Guards guarding the Market square so the guards would be able to have an RP talk with Merchants. And we really want Guarding as a Job so that would fit.

Guarding jobs would make for some good rp. But I really think we should keep things very small, and very cramped. Use only what we NEED instead of what we could NEED. This includes our inner city as well.

I think we should keep a wall for the trade area at least. I liked the one on the build server and think it would be a good idea to protect our commerce. I also think we should build a small wall around the multiracial housing; not much but at least some protection.

I definately want our wall designs in, those look really nordic and I want different materials in the coty, we always only use stone.

Skath, if you look at my design, there will be a wall for that.

That's because we're Dwarves, it should be the only material we use, with few exceptions.

I know, but yet changes in lore and race can be made, and this does give a very moody look. So do not worry

Broski, I really like that idea but I would prefer if our entrance was a bit more hidden. Maybe have a maze after the entrance?

As long as our city isn't multi-racial and I don't see other races entering our inner sanctum. I'll be happy. In my opinion I just want us to live the first century dwarf way. We had no problems besides the government. Everyone shared our houses were small and compact. Community farms for everyone. The mines were only for dwarves. Those days worked so well... what happened?
