When the Rex is mad people die.

Nations go to war. Nations like power and dominance. Why give up the dominance they have over a nation just because some petty reasons that the nation leaders used to get the citizens in support of the war have been expended. Dawn and the Ordinators were scapegoats for conquest. There was no self righteous justifications coming from other nations that joined in. They want land, they want people, they want bloodshed, they want wealth.

I know the Orcs feel betrayed by the Salvusians and dishonored. Why would a war culture back down because the Queen and some corrupt guards are dead?

Alras is an opportunist nation. From what I have seen they work on the basis of showing their strength and gaining refugees into their population. Besides Syrio is a trickster, when have the things he has done been entirely dictated by justice and not by power?

Seventis was motivated by fear and obligation. They are afraid of the Alliance and that is why they fought. They were also allies to Renatus whose former King had bannermen fighting in Salvus for revenge. Honor and fear brought Seventis in.

Hanseti went in for justice and joined Salvus for self righteous reasons.

Renatian lords joined the war because they hate Salvus for being hypocrites. THey don't believe Salvus should exist and despise many of the rulers of the nation for being the ones they overthrew, they also hate the people who supported these ineffectual leaders as they seem them. The lords want revenge and they also want power. They want Salvus to be Renatian not Salvusian. It eliminates one enemy from the playing field. Why would we stop because our scapegoats are gone?

The rebels began because of self righteous means, but they are by no means the only means. Lorethos wants Salvus to be Renatian and he wants to become a Duke of Renatus. He saw the strength coming from Renatus and he saw the weakness in Salvus. He also saw the abuse and ineffectiveness coming from Salvus and began a war. Phase one of his plans have been completed, Dawn has been ousted from power and the Ordinators are being destroyed, but now Phase two begins. As I see it Lorethos moves to have his supporters cut a swath of land for himself while annihilating a nation to gain favor from King Godfrey.

The Elves joined because their High Princess was assaulted by Ordinators. While many of those Ordinators may be dead I suspect they also have ulterior motives. Maybe these motives are strengthening relations and rekindling the old alliance that the Elves and Orcs had. There are huge benefits to aiding allies in war, because it is the strongest way to improve ties since trade is essentially useless. This is a reason why Renatus absolutely hates the Dwarves after they betrayed them.

Holm has joined because of their friendship with the elves. Their leader has also become a major asset to the rebellion. There is again ulterior motives. Perhaps Holm wants some land on the main continent? Perhaps they are working to get some more armor for their forces? Who knows.

You can't say the war should be over because the scapegoats are gone. War is more complicated then "The leadership of this rival nation is abusive to their people; we should go in overthrow them and let the people form a council and just leave the nation as a rival anyways! Cause we are too nice to conquer them :D let us have cake!" It just doesn't happen that way. All nations are rivals, even the nations strongly allied to eachother.

Ok, I take back what I said. I believe that much of the reason the war happened was OOC, but the reason nation leaders joined in was because of greediness IC.

Alras is an opportunist nation. From what I have seen they work on the basis of showing their strength and gaining refugees into their population. Besides Syrio is a trickster, when have the things he has done been entirely dictated by justice and not by power?

NO WE ARE JUST REALLY NICE PEOPLE AND DONT WANT TO SEE PEOPLE THAT ARE SAD.

An enemy that will not bend, must be broken. This is the orcish way. All of the good men that did nothing cannot simply buy back their honor with a witch's blood nor an Ordinator's surrender. Long is the path towards their redemption.

If you'd like, update this to the newer events of LotC where Salvus has been destroyed and rebuilt and use the Event Proposal Format to coordinate it :D
