Ooc: Seventis Culture Guide

 Share

Recommended Posts

Are you a member of Seventis? If so, please try to keep your character inside these guidelines. This will ensure that our Kingdom is unique and not just another Western Themed Localisation. We are based of Byzantium/Constantinople, which is a blend of Western and Eastern ideals. Try to remember this and be as culturally rounded as possible and always aim to fit the theme. This post will be constantly updated.

Clothing:

Noble clothing is usually made of silk, luxurious furs, and jewelry. The fabric is usually dyed with the wonderful hues of dye that the Kingdom produces. Nobles of Seventis are said to have the finest wardrobe at their disposal in all of Asulon. If your character is of noble descent, make sure your skin is very well done and contains brilliant color and eccentric jewels. An example below:

Middle Class clothing is normally similar to Nobility but less luxurious on many levels. If this fits your character than any skin is acceptable. Try to match it as much with the theme as possible however.

Peasants and poor people normally wear whatever they can. They often have rags or home-made clothes to cover themselves.

Women fit into any class but wear either elegant dresses, revealing clothing, or rags if that is all they can afford.

Physical Appearance: Seventians are usually average height. The only considerable difference is their skin color, which is a bit off-white or in some cases a dark tan.

Language/Dialect: Common is the official language of the Kingdom. The only other that is somewhat spoken is from Orc travelers and Norjish, which is the secret language of The Companions. Dialect is similar to the rest of Asulon.

Morals: Thievery and Murder are HUGE offences to anyone. The highest offence however is Treason. Any planning against the state is shunned and outcasted. A personal way to offend someone is vandalism. The morals that are good to them however include honesty and loyalty.

Government: <In the works>

Position on Outsiders: Seventians are -Extremely- welcoming to those who arnt from their region. They are always looking to experience new culture and share ideas. The only caution that the Seventis people have are to possible bandits or raiders. If your character meets someone not from Seventis, try to be as nice and welcoming as possible. Always be cautious of the fact that they may just be after your coin purse, however. Always try to learn more about other civilizations and urge their people to transfer their ways of life into Seventis.

Social Hierarchy: Royalty->Government/Nobility->Warriors->Business/Guild Owners->Middle Class->Farmers/Fisherman->Poor People/Peasants. Please follow this hierarchy and determine your position on it. Remember, we need more Indians than we do Chiefs.

Central Goal: The goal of the Kingdom is to expand and grow. They also aim to flourish economically and culturally, while providing a safe home for citizens.

View on Magic: Magic is looked upon neutrally. Some people see it as awe inspiring and a gift from the heavens, while others see it as witchcraft or as a sin. Your character's position on this is mostly personal preference or relates to their experiences with it.

Duties on a personal level: Duties are reliant on social class. Those who are government officials must be prideful in their office and support the people. Soldiers must be dedicated and well trained. People need to support their families and remain loyal to the kingdom.

History: <See the Nation Charter>

Location and Reasoning for such: The Seventis people live in the Eastern Region of Asulon. They live here because in order to have become a nation, Seventians would have to move East. They also decided that to fully become independent they would have to gain land for their own. The land is dominantly desert but contains bountiful mountains to the north which is home to Irish Themed people.

Religion: <In the works.>

Important Treasures: The spear of Dezios is the Kingdom's most prized possession. It is the Spear of the ancient Norjunian leader, Dezios, who is also the birth father of Renati. The spear is worth an unimaginable amount of Minas and is said to posses a magical capability that is still unknown.

Cuisine/Food:

Nobles enjoy a myriad of exotic spices, fruits, cakes, and many delicate sweets. They also eat the tastiest meats that they most likely would have hunted themselves (Hunting is a prime pass-time of nobility, so please stick with that.) and the freshest cinnamon bread.

Middle Class normally eats bread, vegetables, poultry products, and fish. They also eat many ground up wheat products and on occasion apples.

Peasantry and poor people eat just about anything available.

Great post!

You practically described Dastain in a nutshell which is kind of strange 0_o. Dastain is tanned, well dressed, and a man who consider's himself the highest of Nobility (Which I think is big headed but hey, it's Role play)

Yeah but great post!
