He worked me hard I guess, I feel that he gave me a good base for future combat. But, I have never been in a real battle. By means of war that is.

Well, I am a curious fellow. But I doubt I would venture in a massive ruin alone. Especially if I can hear sounds and see lights emanating from the inside. Jus' want to keep my life, never know what could be in there. What I would do is report it to someone who is interested. Maybe... an adventurer of some sort.

While at a local bar you see two dark hooded figures in the corner discussing in a whispered conversation. You can't quite make out what they're saying but you clearly hear the word "artifact".

 

*Jalin thinks before penning his answer to this scenario* If I heard two hooded figures say the word, "Artifact," I would be interested. It would seem a little tacky. I would maybe even try to lean in closer to eavesdrop.  But, I would take no action against them. Unless the artifact held boundless power. Then I would inform all of Anthos!

Walking down the Anthos Highway you come across a masked man with a sword threatening a hooded figure, claiming he is a necromancer.

 

*Jalin taps his quill on the paper, thinking for quite a while. He scratches his chin then begins to write.* I know little about necromancy. Almost nothing, I think it has something to do with the undead or something. But if this did happen I would quickly dart to the nearest hiding spot, farthest away from them. I would watch the scene closely and report what happens to the authorities. Hopefully the man is a bandit and is bluffing about the necromancy. I don't know why a necromancer would need a sword.

You come across a massive ruin of ancient design, strange sounds and lights emanate from within.

I would leave for help because of the sounds and lights. After, I would take cautious steps forward, holding my torch in front of me looking for traps or anything of interest. Depending on what happens I would either talk with an entity, take ancient tomes, or open chests, looking around for traps first.

I would pull out my research book, tearing a page out and writing down all I can hear. I would detail their appearances and take the notes to a fellow Delver, and ask them for their advice. If I heard a location I would write it larger than the rest and underscore it.

sword threatening a hooded figure, claiming he is a necromancer.

 

I would walk up to the man, asking him about his business with the person. I would try to communicate with him, hoping he will reveal himself as a necromancer. I would ask him if he could prove it, and while he is focusing, gesture for the hooded figure to leave. In the meantime I would slam the blunt side of my sword into the side of the "necromancer's" head, hoping to incapacitate him.

     Varlan walks into the main hall of the Delvers keep. Looking at the message board for a moment before he reaches into his bag. As he pulls out a sheet of paper and begins writing. " I Varlan Boran Gerofe am leaving the Mageshields and would like to have it known. I leave for reasons I do not write. That is all." He then tacks it to the message board, makes his way to his room, collects his things then makes his way out after disgarding his uniform.

Stepping inside the Delver's hall, giving off a wide yawn and a small scratch to the back of his neck, Smoke looks to the noticeboards, noticing a recently posted message. He leans in a little closer to view the writings, his eyes moving side to side as he reads carefully. Smoke simply sighs after straightening up. He turns back and heads to the Delver courtyard in hopes of gaining some relaxation and a peace of mind, but not immediately after meeting this change of atmosphere, he looks to the sky.

 

"Ehhhhh... It's such a shame. He was one of our only few captains and he decided to leave without lettin' his comrades know. Gee, I thought we meant something to him..."

 

A sudden breeze blows not a moment after his speech to himself, his longcoat's coattail being blown into the direction of the wind, yet he not making a move himself.

Cyrus stands alone under the trees of a forest near Salvus.

He grasps his side in a dull, deep pain of a bruised rib, unsure of what had exactly happened. It did not matter; he's alone again. He thinks to himself:

'I want to impress the Mindlord... I need to show him the fruits of our labor for me. We need to see improvement...'

A brilliant idea crosses his mind. Cyrus puts a hand over his mouth, pondering exactly how.

'We've only dabbled slightly into visual illusion... What if I could make a grand illusion? What if I were to appear to him as two people! ... ridiculous .. I am hardly proficient at this art and only decent at sensual tricks.'

He stand for a moment under the scattered shade of the trees, a slight breeze picking up to rustle the leaves. The only sound to be heard were of the leaves. The birds were absent, and he was far from the city.

'Yet...' He thought 'one does not know what he can do until he discovers that which he cannot accomplish...'

Cyrus resolved that it would take time, but he would begin honing his skill in visual illusion as to impress his instructor Polgrath. After a long days' work of failure to summon the visual form of even something the size of an acorn, he returns to the hold Ac'talareh. He sees Smoke walk outside and hears him mumble something. Exhausted, he hears not what he says, but finds respite among the folded banners of the Delvers. No longer did they hang, but instead offered rest for a mentally exhausted Elf.

Walking to the well filled messege board Polgrath looks over both of the applicants writings. After a bit of time he pens his verdict on both.
