The Arcane Delvers

A small, red bird appears bearing a hot wax seal with the letter M emblazoned upon it proudly. The wax has hardened, and takes longer than usual to open. As the letter is opened the red bird coos softly

"Dear guild master of the group known as the "Arcane Delvers"

I am interested in learning the arcane magicks. More specifically, fire magic. It would be a great challenge and I'm sure you would find my determination unmatched. Please send Merethyu back to me with a reply.

The ink is smudged here, whether by accident or purposeful intent cannot be discerned. The bird ***** its head sideways and spreads its tail feathers with a questioning look.

Crestfall is located on a large island off the coast of Arethor, reachable by boat from there or the Cloud temple Docks. The ship to Crestfall is located directly oppisite the small Druid raft on the same pier.

The small, red bird, Marethyu, returns. He seems a bit lighter than last time. This shows in the almost unseen beats of his fiery wings. To the birds foot is tied a small scroll, instead of a bulky envolope. Unrolling the scroll reveals the following message:

Marethyu chirps happily and ruffles his wings.

Nare sighs as he looks out across the city of Crestfall. He watches children play in the streets, and birds flying through the air. He takes out a piece of parchment, and his personal inkwell. He vigorously writes a note on it. When he finishes, he wipes his forehead and calls for his bird. Gligle flies to him. He waits for the ink to dry, then rolls up the paper and ties it to his bird. He sets it off to Polgrath, with a grim look on his face.

"I regret to inform you, that I have decided to leave the Arcane Delvers. I know that I took an oath, and that I have possibly wasted your time. I do apologise, but, circumstances have arisen and I must part ways from the guild. I also am without a key to the locked door to the Mageshield bunks. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me, but I must go. Only if you alloy me to break my oath, may I find peace with having to leave. I know that we have not been on any grand adventures, and they would have been fun, but I must part ways. Please consider it, Polgrath. Again, I am sorry."

*reading the letter with a grim expression, Polgrath places the letter aside, sighs and pens a response

While I am saddened by your departure, ye hath full right to leave. Go fourth and find adventure elsewhere. I wish ye well on your journeies and that someday we shall perhaps find a man to fill the large boot prints left by ye. The Delvers shall miss ye.

Mageshield,Delver or other(if other detail)?: I would like to continue my work as an Artifact Hunter. What I basically do is search out, catalogue, and if possible recover powerful Artifacts both Magical and Strange. Magical Artifacts are your run of the mill Artifacts that Ascended, Undead, and a few powerful magic-users create. Strange artifacts are those that fall outside that definition. As I said, if possible I will recover an Artifact and store it so that it might be preserved and protected from evil forces.

If needed, I also have great martial skill and a few other hidden talents for surviving the wilderness. Becuase of that I also learned how to keep my equipment in tip-top shape. I have talents that lie elsewhere, but those are the major ones.
