(Felix from Golden Sun is very similar to how I am imagining Ezáreth.)

- Name: Ezáreth

- Gender: Male

- Actual Age: 74

- Assumed Age: 22

- Race: Elven

- Alignment: Chaotic Good

- Occupation: Mercenary / Merchant

- Hobbies: Adventuring The Wilds, hunting, honing his skills

- Appearance: Standing ‘tall’ at 6’2”, Ezáreth, coupled with his young appearance, is often mistaken as a Human. This of course is not the case, yet for an Elf his particular lack of height is intriguing. Not helping matters his long brown hair often covers his pointy Elven ears. When venturing beyond the borders of his homeland he is often mistaken as a Noble’s son, either deserted or lost on his way. Needless to say any predators swiftly fall victim to the severity of his blade; their last breath drawn as their deaths are reflected back in the glimmer of his pale brown eyes.

-History: Like every Elf, Ezáreth was born with the gift of prolonged life, and as such looks only a fraction of his true age. Particularly short for an Elf, he is often confused as a Human, which he has and no doubt will again use to his advantage.

Mostly keeping his private life exactly that – private, he typically only interacts with people with whom he is conducting business, although he does keep a very small circle of friends.

His line of work isn’t all that specific. He assumes the title of a freelance merchant, often providing his own stock himself, but onlookers would say otherwise. While mostly going along in the world unknown, any that do recognise him know him as a mercenary and a no-nonsense merchant. As such, very slowly word about him is spreading and his renown is slowly building. However, he does make sure that most of what people know is what he wants them to know and if the end justifies the means, then silencing those whose voices cannot be is no cause for concern to him.

A little askew of his Elven brethren, Ezáreth prefers a sturdy blade to a bow and arrows. This isn’t to say he is lacking skill with one, quite the contrary. Despite his preference, however, he will still likely be found with both on his person.

Little is known about his ancestry, and indeed himself, even to the people that raised him. Being born along with all his brethren at the Cloud Temple of Aegis is the only sure thing about his birth. What happened thereafter is a mystery. Being found as an infant lost in The Wilds by an elderly couple while they were picking mushrooms was really the beginning of Ezáreth’s life. Taken in by the caring elders, he was raised with the very best care and fortune in their home, the Elven city of Laurelin. The couple had had no other children together, but looked after him as if he were their own flesh and blood. Growing up a single child with tired, elderly parents is lonely enough, but having no identity adds another element to be considered. Always a little bit of a recluse and having very few friends as a boy lead him to become quite skilled at certain tasks. An avid reader, he learned the language quickly and although he never spoke much, when he did he was always revered for his way with words. Being well educated and mastering skills of the sword long before his peers he grew ever more curious about where he came from. Having very little memory from before he was adopted, and seemingly the skills required to seek them out, he would edge closer and closer to The Wilds each day, and each time he would be severely warned about the dangers that lay in wait.

At the tender age of thirteen however, he could no longer take ‘no’ for an answer, and so left the city for The Wilds. When he didn’t return that evening, his worried parents took it upon themselves to find him once again. They were both old and weary at this stage in their lives, and they searched deeper into The Wilds than was deemed safe. They never returned from that search, but died valiantly protecting their son.

Since that fateful moment Ezáreth learned to never take anything for granted. He felt a certain loyalty to the city that took him in, and had sworn to protect it to his end.

(ooc: I had to alter a little bit of his history so it met the lore of the lands. I hope it's satisfactory. Once you start writing these things it's easy to get a little carried away. I look forward to meeting you all. Just don't cross my bad side... My blades are sharp.)

Thank you for the kind words in return. My name is Ibram Gaunt, I have only ever met very few of your kind, I was brought up on a small farm you see. If you ever find yourself in Oren during your travels it would be a pleasure to meet. As I said I know little about your race and yearn for Tales of your fair city!
