jtringl 35 Share Posted July 9, 2012 *Wandering through the Cloud Temple, you see a man in red passing out books from a crate. Interested, you take one from him. The cover is red with a white eagle on it, bound with a strip of gold. The lettering reads "House Amedaius". Sitting down on the ledge, you flip open to the first page and begin to read* + Family Lore + The story of the great House Amedaius begins in the year 1019, in the deep north. The sound of a newborn baby can be heard coming from the castle, as a light snowfall settles in to the night. It is the first and only child of Alyna and Lucas Barisson, the great Queen and King of LightHolm. They name the child Celthric Amedaius. The time of the Great House Barrison is up, and a new name shall rule the kingdom. They chose the surname Amedaius, after the star used to guide people back to LightHolm. Thus, House Amedaius was born. The name officially came into power twenty-seven years later, when Celthric took the throne. The colors of his banner spanned the kingdom. White, blue, and light gray. An age of reform began then, starting with the government. In place of two leaders, Celthric set up a council of five. It would include the top-ranking members of the family, and they would run the kingdom together. This form of council is what the family based their self-government off of, and is still used today. At the age of thirty-one, Celthric had himself a bride. He married the beautiful Aerilyn Vall, age twenty-nine, daughter of Faynor Vall, Duke of Malrion. They proceded to have seven children, four boys and three girls. Taul, the eldest son. He was followed by Aora, the eldest daughter. After that came Gwendolyn, Stefan, Celthric II, Maximus, and Aerilyn II. Only two went on to rule, and one went on to have children. At the age of seventy-one, in the year 1090, Celthric I passed away due to old age. He was preceded by his eldest son Taul, who was twenty-nine at the time. Taul was the only of Celthric’s children to have kids. Sadly, Taul died in battle at the age of thirty-one. He left behind his son Casimir, and a daughter Alyna who he named after his grandmother. Since the children were too young to lead, Taul’s sister Gwendolyn took the throne until Casimir was of age. Casimir took the throne at the age of twenty-two in the year 1108. As King, he set out to conquer the lands around him. During his reign, the realm nearly tripled in size. He had but one child, a son named Faynor II, with a Duchess he had not known. Never did he want children, but in order to keep the family line going, he had no choice. The child was born in the year 1116, and took the throne thirty-nine years later in the year 1155. His father had gone mad, tainted by black magic. LightHolm entered the dark days, and the Amedaius family was left with not much to rule when plague struck the kingdom in 1197. The realm had shrunk yet again, reduced to just the capital. Faynor II had only one child, born in the year 1157. Lucas, he struggled to hold on to the throne as war struck out in LightHolm. Due to medical problems, he was only able to have one child before he died. Gwendolyn II, born in 1198, could no longer keep the Amedaius Family in power. She was only three when her father died, leaving her the last descendant of the family, too young to hold the throne. The second highest noble house in LightHolm took control. When Gwendolyn II married, she did not keep the surname Amedaius, and lost the family name for a long, long time. After a couple hundred years of the descendants of Gwendolyn II, Cassandra was born. She had a long hatred for her father. At the age of 16, she ran away from home, and changed her name to Cassandra Amedaius. Although she did not marry, she bore two children to a peasant farmer, Justin LongFellow. These two children were Casimir Amedaius II, and Tempir Amedaius. They had never known their father, and were raised by their mother. When Justin died, he left quite the inheritance to his children. Casimir, at the age of nine, and Tempir, at the age of five, were escorted to New Oasis, the Verge, which was left to them by their father. Four years later, Undead became a serious threat throughout Aegis. The children boarded the ships with everyone else, but Cassandra never made it from the deep north. They sailed to Azulon and lived off the land until they were old enough to get jobs. This was the very start of their careers. The best friend to Justin LongFellow, Jullius Septimus, acted as an uncle to the children. He bought a house in Salvus with Casimir, and they lived together there for quite some time. Casimir had gotten himself a job in Azar as an architect, and redesigned the entire city. While there, though, he was mistreated, stole from, and under-paid. He started a rebellion with the assistance of Markus Powell, and overthrew Lord Renati. The town was renamed Ascella, and Casimir served as the Lord until Markus backstabbed him a few years later. Tired of the feudal mainland, he set out for the wilds. While Casimir was exploring the wilds, Tempir had been making his way through the White Ravens. He had become trained in the art of magic, and became a lightning mage. Eventually, he became Arch Mage of the White Ravens, and went on to serve as a mage in Seventis, the new city built by Renati. Along with his success in magic, he also became the Lord over Aliquam Purus, the city of White Ravens. While living in Salvus, Casimir had met a man named Sean BradShaw. Sean guided Casimir out to his inn located out in the wilderness. Casimir stayed there for quite some time, doing research into his family line. Upon discovering the great nobility his family used to hold, he set out to restore it. Firstly he built a grand castle, fit for his nobility. Around it he forged a community, with the town of Riverbend and the district of Stingray Bay, all inside the county of Somerset. This was the just the beginning.
