Current Happenings 9/4/2012

1. The Event-Team as Lysistrata Villagers have been tasked in roleplay to acquire a few books written by Wilven Adonan himself that only a handful of players have recovered from some very important ruins.

2. An Ex-Xanthos miner has sold two, very intriguing goblin books to two different factions after being kicked out of the Miners guild for thievery.

( These goblin books speak of some very.. important "Artifacts" hidden in Asulon. He sold each book to separate factions due to his quarrels with Xanthos and his desire to get more for his finds. )

3. The Event team has not been told OOCly of these events, and the outcomes are completely up to the interactions the players have with the Event-Team as well as those who have their hands on the very sensitive information found in the texts.

4. The GM team has begun work on LoTC 3.0's landmass, orienting racial locations and creating a road system that promotes consistent and fluid roleplay with the help of all the suggestions mentioned in previous 3.0 threads. 3.0 WILL NOT BE RELEASED FOR MONTHS TO COME, AND PLAYERS WILL BE BROUGHT ONTO THE MAP TO HELP ( Details will be provided in a Development Diary that will be posted sometime this month, hopefully )

As usual, I trust none of you will use this information in-character as I made this post to show you guys that there is very deep-rooted lore happening right under your nose !

Happy roleplaying, LoTC !

You missed out the bit where I hit you twice round the head in order to obtain said book. ^_^

I hope the new map will be as close to Aegis' map as possible... make the dwarf city awesome! (If you want help ask me >.> :3)

Speaking of which, you can find a post regarding these documents HERE.

Shameless self-advertising.

Ahhh, is that what you gave a sneak peak of on that one guys status? It looked beautiful, as if a new cloud temple, as soon as I saw it I thought of a new map.

I saw the layout post for 3.0, and had a few suggestions.

1) I hope for more integrated mixed nations, perhaps some lore that has much more traders living in other nations or even possibly multi-racial nations. I see too many one-race cities, when even IRL cities are a melting pot for people of all races to congregate. It creates great civil conflict when multiple races are cramped into one land under one banner, and I find it more interesting.

2) I believe Cloud Temple should NOT be in the center of the map; that is why this map has so much crime and incidents occuring in the temple. Keep the temple like in Aegis where it is not in the center of the realm. Because the Asulon temple was in the center, it became somewhat of a highway for travelers to go through, and ended up being a great spot for conflict RP. But it is a temple, so keep it off to the side and rather have a "King's Road" esque path for trouble to come.

3) I ask that if possible some of the cities be prebuilt, so it provides an excellent quality RP atmosphere through great builds, over the haphazard, dull, boring builds which occur when players have to make their own buildings (they often rush the projects, so they have buildings to RP in). For RP purposes though, these cities should be somewhat derelict and damaged, so players have things to do such as to repair buildings and fix workshops.

4) I think working more on landscape/environment and less on dungeons would be great, dungeons have always been a thing for only a few players to participate in, while a landscape always cultivates great RP through the atmosphere, acts as a selling point to new players, and affects everyone.

Made this post on the 3.0 dump thread, but I hope some of it can be implemented in 3.0! Cool update as always, the lore behind what is to come seems engaging and interesting.
