Are you a new applicant? Do you have trouble coming up with a name? Well do not fear, for this short guide will hopefully help you come up with a name that is fitting for your character, making name-choosing not hard at all!

Humans:

When creating a name for a human, you can do a number of things. What I did for my human character was simply take my name in real life, then just plug-in a last name from a list. If you do not want to do this, click on these links, for they may be helpful!

First Names:

http://names.mongabay.com/male_names.htm

http://names.mongabay.com/female_names.htm

Last Names:

http://names.mongabay.com/most_common_surnames.htm

If you scroll down a bit on those lists, you should find one that you like. Also, make sure you make it sound realistic for the server's setting.

Pro tip: If you're a Human, don't pick some outwardly and odd name just to be different. Pick something normal like James or Richard. It just is a little more fun.

People are like "Do you know Richard?"

Man 2 "Yes, he's the only Richard around!"

When it should be

"Do you know Richard?"

"I know a Richard, but probably not the same one as you"

Elven Names:

Make sure to use names that sound elvish, or you may make RP a bit awkward (Ex: A wood elf named James Johnson or something)

Here are a few lists of names to choose from!

Also, here is a guide that explains the elvish language, which has some other names to choose from, based on the words posted there. This also will help you if you are a new elf that wants to speak a bit of elvish to fit in a bit better with other elves.

(All credits for the link above go to Sporadic, so if it helps you, be sure to thank him!)

First names & Last names can be found on this site:

Orc Names:

When choosing an orc name, be sure that it sounds like something an orc would be able to say (I think that there is a dictionary in the orc roleplay section) and above all, make sure you like the name that you choose. Also, orcs normally don't have last names (They get their surnames after joining clans, if I'm not mistaken) so I would only pick a first name.

Name lists:

Dwarf Names:

I haven't played on a dwarf character yet so I don't know that much about them however here is a list of dwarf-sounding names and a dwarf name generator:

I hope that this helps anyone in need of a name for their character.

In Elven names, could you mention Sporadic's beautiful post on the Ancient Elven Language? Most elven names are based on this, originally.

I thank you for the suggestion, and I have put that link in the 'elven names' section.

For surnames on any part [[except orcs]] you can use a fake name, or use something of an object. Mine is Spade, Awackypenguin uses "Whitestorm" and some people have used "Blade" or "Cleareye" and such, just for some last names :)
