OOC: Help with Occupation?

Hello LoTC!

Well, I have decieded to return to LoTC after too long of a break, but my brother BurningTheWorld has re-sparked my need to Role-Play, and now I have just finished comming up with my character Arthur (Yes, I am the same one as the other new guy, that was before I found my old account, so if anyone could delete that account then please do!) yet, I am stuck on the following thing. I don't know what occupation I want Arthur to have! But I have narrowed down my choices to a few based on what I would actually perfer to Rp and what it would make sense for Arthur to actually persue! Okay, he can be one of the following:

Military Strategist

Surgeon

Soldier

Architect

Engineer

These are the choices, please if you would like to help, can you leave a comment below and maybe give insight as to why you choose said careers? For Example: Surgeon due to small number of them ((Not sure if that is infact true...))

Thanks for the real fast reply! Anyone else? As of now, combat medic seems to be the best! I might put a poll, but I don't know, that is soo much extra work! ;)

Okay, please though, pick only one, I know combinations are more rare, but I like to think of my characters as MASTERS of their paticular trade, not a Jack of All (Granted that is only a few) Trades. And I have now opened it to anything that is close to these options. Just think of Arthur as a Nobleman with no political power, thats what he thinks of himself as.

Military Strategist sounds interesting, though it would probably be easier to get a paying job as a Soldier or Architect.

...Why don't you start from the very beginning as opposed to starting as a master of x? Seems more fun to me.

No, you got me all wrong Jon, I meant in the end he is a Master of One Trade, not he will start as one, that is no fun... And I just got a job as a Castle Guard, so I guess I will start there till I get known enough to be hired as a Military Stratgist ((I honestly have NO idea what this job would be anyway lol))

Well, just from experience within Oren, go for something unique. Being a unique job like a field medic or a military surgeon just makes for a better experience all around. It might just be my opinion, but it gets boring after a while seeing everyone be the same thing. Be crazy, expand, explore all the job possibilities till you find something unique and fun!

Thanks for the advice Boiendl! I got a job as a Castle Guard for now, because you have to start somewhere! I'm thinking Soldier who studies Architecture or Engineering... something like that.

[[Well if your in the Oren area I would suggest Engineer Mixed with a Solider to Strageistest. And Possibly find an offical to get a good job from for the Empire. Or if your just a random human, you could go Feild Medic/Soilder and offer your services as a medic for a price and you blade/ax for a price as well?]]
