Luckily, It can't. There's nowhere near the proper facilities and things to get the pure grade aluminum and Oxidants, along with the ignition helpers, (Magnesium). Also, it's very hard to ignite, and it's can't do anything until it's ignited.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can use some kind of copper compound to create thermite as well, my friends made it for their AP Chem final project and melted through a big flower pot and the concrete below))

Just to say, someone was carrying around Thermite in RP after I had arrested them. I told them that it wasn't approved and apparently someone sold it to him and said that the seller said it was approved.

You need a lot of iron oxide, not just some scrap. Amounts are nearly 1 to 1, and the stuff has to be finely dusted. Just from what I know, and the end product should be a deep mars red or your not using enough. You have to remember, you can't simply grind metal to dust, not in the age the server is based in. And filing wouldn't get it fine enough, so honestly the rp is kind of lacking. I know I'm not in charge of lore, but you should of had a lot more documentation, including development of the processes to get the iron oxide in that amount, I mean this is a renaissance period we don't have places producing raw iron oxide on its own, as far as the world is concerned rust is rust is rust and no one is going to spend time developing a way to separate it out. Rust would of never transferred in any amount enough to cause a reaction because aluminum does not rust, and a small bit of dust from scraping would never be enough.

Fun fact of the day: Everything's metal, Armour, Swords, Etc. Rust is plentiful.
