*Kalenz and Lafthi finish speaking. He stands swiftly, flicks his hood over his head and begins to walk away, his white robes trailing behind him.*

((With that, I retire for the night. That being said for the remainder of the time LotC is down I'll be posting a different forum scenario each day so we can continue some semblance of RP.))

As Kalenz begins to walk away Earenniel walks out of the darkness and into the fire light. Her eyes are full of determination as she begins to speak.

I've heard enough now from you all that I feel now I should speak. The reason we are in such a predicament here is partly due to miscommunication and false information, which has lead to assumptions and bad decision. She mumbles something about having been High Commander four nearly four elven weeks.

To those who believe that the High Council simply made this decision, that is completely false. A meeting was held among the people of Malinor and the proposal to move was suggested. We spoke for a full seed (one real life day). The result was a nearly unanimous agreement that we should relocate. It is true that we did not discuss this with Haelun'or or Malin's Gorge, which by the way is not a part of Malinor. It is Malinor that is at war with so many people, and therefor it was Malinor's choice as to whether or not we go.

Now, enough of this dwelling on who brought us here. We are here now together, and that is what is important. Now should be a time to learn about each other and focus on our relationships with each other, rather than other races. I see this as a gift, for now I feel closer to Mali as a whole, rather than those who dwell within Malinor. Do not think of this as surrender or running away, because we are not. We are here because we act as Valah, fighting and warring using rash decisions and Valah war tactics. We are Mali! War is not in our nature yet we have brought it upon ourselves. We have lost our way and it is time that we found it. Learn the true language of the elves, reestablish our lost culture, and become Mali once again!

The slender Earenniel stops her speech to hear what other say. Her circlet gleaming in the fire light.

Orym looks to Earenniel after she finishes her speech.

"Van'ayla, Earenniel. Now, I came to this fire late, and the discussion seemed to be almost over, but from what I've heard Kalenz seems to agree with moving, though that might of been me misinterpreting something. He was more concerned with the valah attacks and the alliance with the bortu. He claims that this is some mistake of the council. I don't really agree with him on the second part, because I think valah would begin to attack us anyway, seeing as most of them are blinded with youth and strive to do whatever they can in their short lives."

Orym then goes quiet as he waits for a reply, still sitting on his log near the fire that is slowly dying.

*Kalenz turns back around, glancing to Earenniel, a condescending look crosses his face*

"Sitting for so long without making yourself known? Quite rude Erenniel. A behavior I would not have expected from one who so willingly titles themselves princess. Such a valah term.

*Kalenz glances to a gloved hand for a moment, before speaking once more*

This itself is a curious matter. Indeed, the council of Malinor represents Malinor alone, yet what one must understand is that the ramifications of its actions will easily affect and damage the situations of those cities around it.

Unlike you, I do not see this pitiful little dirt camp as an advantage. Indeed, the few advantages it gives are totally negated by the dismal state of preparedness Malinor had for such an event. This situation with Oren has made staying in Haelun'or more of a risk than a safety. Did the mali'aheral concern themselves in the affairs of Normandor or provoke the wrath of any nation or state in Asulon?

No.

Yet it seems now, due to the actions of the few we are implicated by your choices. One would assume if Malinor's choices implicated its allies it would consult them before it made a decision, no? As Mr. Lafthi says though, it seems such is in the past and may not be changed. These grievous errors which have cost Haelun'or a city of its own through no fault of its own are regrettably in the past.

It is unfortunate that it seems only Mr. Lafthi has been the one who has thought of an attempt to rectify said lack of communication. Offering a meeting between the haial'mali and the haial'thilln, an offer which I intend to relay promptly. Perhaps it is time for Malinor to accept the blame for its curious recent failures just as Haelun'or seems to have to accept the loss of the precious elthilln'cihi. It seems only he who recognizes such, a behaviour which despite his imp- "

*Kalenz pauses for a moment in thought. *

"A behavior which I very much respect him for."

*Kalenz eyes Earenniel intently, in wait. Another sly and belittling smile crosses his face. His lips twitch upwards once.*

"Ah, but llir if you so wish... Do argue your little point."

Lucion sits by the fire, staring silently into the crackling flames as the light leaps and dances across his features. He holds his hands closly to his face, and folds them slowly, one over the other. Even though he sits outdoors, his robes are impeccably white and clean; almost luminescent in the flickering light the fire provided. He begins to speak, without looking away from the flames, in a slightly gravelly tone, as if not speaking to others but himself.

"The Renatians would never have attacked Malinor. Not officially, anyway. There is nothing to gain for them on this "Emerald" Peninsula. Raiding was as cetain as the tidal retreat as Oren gained power, but that is beside the point; every township has its filth to be expunged, even in those whose citizens minds are grafted firmly in the present."

He tilts his head slightly, still watching the flames. His expression is devoid of emotion, but his eyes reveal a certain "coldness" in their glare.

"Valah are rash creatures who know nothing but the childish trappings of their young minds; greed, lechery, and lust for dominance. They have no time for true introspection, true study, or true governance. To curb such attackers would be impossible on their side without forcing a doctrine outlawing emotional thought. Implausable. Hm."

He slowly straightens his back, and places his hands on his iron cane. He picks it up, and lays it on his lap. He starts to twist it in his hands, feeling every crevice with meticulous obsession.

"Bravepaw believed that an alliance with the bortu would end such assaults; a large body of axe-weilding bortuan would put anyone off, correct? Simple logic. Unfortunately, it lacked thoroughness. How would these Bortuan arrive in time to end such raids before the pillagers had made for the ships without some variety of "garrison" within Malinor? At that, how vigilant would they be in their duties? I would say "not at all". But, alas, I am but a pessimist when conversation turns to other races; thusly my opinion must be incorrect, and therefore should be completely disregarded."

Lucion's head shakes once, and his clenches his jaw for a moment before continuing.

"Before the official meeting that placed ours and many others fates within the hands of the bortuan, I searched out the High Prince regarding our alliance with Malinor. It was here I first learned of the proposed alliance with the bortuan. I was rather upset by such news, naturally, and advised against it. I admit, I was considerably frantic over the issue, almost to the point of insults. In the end, however, he attributed my dissatisfaction to simple "racism". Indeed, he decided to not invite us to a grand meeting with the dwarves as well as other races for the reason that we would "piss people off." It is as if he wished only to hear the words of support for his rash actions. Criticism works only to improve flawed ideas. Much like Bravepaw's own flawed insinuation of our "racism"."

He stops suddenly, and remains perfectly still. He closes his eyes and exhales slowly.

"Racism and tolerance are both concepts founded in ignorance and presumption. I am neither ignorant, nor presumptuous, as my opinions of other peoples are founded entirely on empyrical observation and study. I do not presume an uruk is violent, I know it to be a fact. It is for reasons such as this that we isolated ourselves from Malinor so that we might not be disturbed by those who might title us as such things out of their own ignorance.

But, alas, we are viewed as such, and Bravepaw heeded not my words then, or my words at the multinational meeting (which I managed to attend only due to the insistance of a Kha associate), or the words of Mr Uradir. I warned Bravepaw that an alliance would lead Malinor into a war, and I warned the others during the meeting. You chose your fates, and dragged the mali'aheral with it. You speak of "looking to the future". That is but objectivity without clarity. The future is crafted by the actions of the present, which in turn are based on the actions of the past. You will not succeed. As for this Oren-backed Princess..."

Looks around the group at last; his cold gaze biting into each person it lands on.

"...let the child have the cake. Let criticism flow to where it is needed, and let you all "craft a state worthy of Malin"; as if the term has any purpose in this day and age.

Orym listens to Kalenz and Lucion speak. He continues to stare at the fire, deep in thought as he awaits for earenniel to reply to both himself and kalenz. His eyes do not blink as he examines the flames while thinking. He refrains to comment on the other two elves' speeches.

Salamandra finally looks up from the dirt, and his stick stops moving. He tosses it into the fire, stands, and gently plats Earenniel on the shoulder before shuffling past and out of sight.

Were one to look at what Salamandra had been drawing in the dirt all this time, they would find many odd symbols surrounding a simple message in the center, drawn in very large letters.

"You are all twits."

*Kalenz frowns at the shade's departure, not bothering to squint his eyes in the dim lighting to determine what Salamandra had written. He looks to Earenniel's circlet suddenly once again taking a condescending tone.*

"You wear such a circlet as if membership to such a council is something to be proud of. A novell idea considering the times. As Mr. Sullas so eloquently said; we will let you try to craft a state worthy of malin. Little meaning such a sentiment now holds."

*Orlanden stands up and removes his hood. He has been sitting on a log a bit further from the fire, resting his back against a tree. He begins to speak to all who sit around the fire, taking into consideration what Earenniel said and reiterating some key notes. *

You are foolish to think that we make any decision lighty. Your current council wants what is best for the Elves. That is what we strive for. We are doing our best to mend the wounds created by the past councils of Asulon, but we aren't sure that can done anymore. We are almost out of options. The decision that lead us to where we physically are now, was in favor by over 90% of the citizens of Malinor. We, the High Council, held a secret meeting in which most attended. We are not making anyone do anything. Each individual is their own. We, and everyone else, know that we simply cannot defend anymore. We just can't. If any of you think it is possible, then by all means, join the ranks of the Sentinels and await the next attack. As for the Mali'aheral, you have done your own thing thus far, so if you think it is a total loss the way we are living now, return to high standards of living and see how long you last. I am personally doing my best to make sure all Elves are safe and happy, but if you are not happy, then do whatever it is that makes you happy. Stop making a fuss to those who are content. And if you think we in the High Council are blind, corrupt, or oblivious to the needs of our people, it is you who needs to open his or her eyes. There is only so much that can be done at this point and time and we are doing absolutely everything we can. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to better anything at all, please speak to one of your Princes or Princesses instead of preaching to no avail. I assure you we will listen.

*Orlanden sits on a shared log closer to the fire and begins warming his hands.*

"Perhaps you misunderstand. I do not question the intent of the high council, I question their dedication to prudence and understanding that the choices made by the heial'mali affect many more than simply Normandor and Malinor. I simply desire them to consider that.

Do your ears falter perhaps? Did I truly have to repeat this for a fifth time on this night?"

((Regarding ShiftNative's new post I am unsure if this conversation should continue, or suddenly conclude.))

((I would say continue, as no RP post has been made stating what caused us to get on ships and go to islands and we don't know about it ICly. Perhaps we can incorporate the leaving into this RP or something))

I am simply portraying my thoughts from the information I have gathered in the past and here, this night. Like I said, I speak to all, not just one and not just you, Kalenz.

Kehl returns on horse back again. After dismounting the horse He goes to his tree and leans against as he did previosly. His eyes dart across each individual, his gaze stopping on kalenz.

"Ker'ayla yet again mali'aheral. What might be the topic of discussion this time? I would enjoy providing my opinion on anything."

*Kalenz chuckles and looks to Khel.

"Cer'Khel, this is not my fire. Indeed, I simply speak because so many are gathered here to listen. The topic of the council has drawn on for such an extended period that it too bores me. Do offer a suggestion if you have something more appropriate to talk about. Solving this problem further is perhaps for another day, I encourage any and all to speak as they will, assuming they are competent, well mannered and respectful. "
