After Martin finishes, Thomas takes a step forward, and begins speaking,

"I'm Thomas Doune, and like many men in this room, I used to serve Artorus when he was still alive. Before I state my opinion on the Torrhen-Harrion matter, I'd like to talk about this magic rock that picks leaders. As Thorenir has stated, there is no mention of this rock in any Adunian texts. This rock has just as much "divine power" to pick Lords as this feather does!" Takes out an ordinary feather from his pocket and raises it so it can be seen, before pocketing it again, "Not only that, but why would this rock pick someone who was never even around Adunia to become it's leader? Hanrahan is just making this all up on the spot!"

Thomas clears his throat, before continuing to speak.

"Now, to the Torrhen-Harrion thing. Well... as we all know, Artorus originally made Torrhen his heir, before changing his mind after being reminded of a certain tradition, and making Harrion his heir. It may then seem clear that Harrion should have gotten the throne, but it has been years since Artorus died and Torrhen became Lord. At the time of Artorus' death, Harrion was away and so Adunia needed someone to step up in the meantime. And so Torrhen did. If Harrion wanted to become Lord, he should've headed over as fast as he could and tried to get his throne then, and not now, so many years later. In the time between then and now, Adunia has gotten used to the loss of Artorus and getting a new Lord. Now," Thomas looks over at Thorenir, knowing he'll be angered at how Thomas is supporting Torrhen, and not Harrion, "Harrion and his group threaten to disrupt Adunia again by changing it's leader. They say this is justified, as Torrhen is apparently never around much, yet I see Torrhen around fairly often, and before this rebellion, I hardly ever saw Harrion."

Thomas finishes speaking, and steps back against the wall, waiting for another to make their case.

Thorenir glares at Thomas, his trust in him dropping magnificently after his pro-Torrhen speech. He shakes his head slowly, convincing himself that Thomas' argument for Torrhen was a fairly useless one anyhow, and wouldn't do much to tip the scales either way.

-Isabella sighs and shakes her head. With a sharp inhale, she rises and looks at the men in the room. She bows her head to the Emperor and then speaks, calm and collectively.

"Fellow Adunians, My brothers. My name is Isabella Elendil; Daughter to Torrhen and Granddaughter to Artorus. It pains me to see such distress and conflict between us. I was raised to believe that we stand side by side, not at arms against each other..."

She draws a breath and continues.

"I was chosen by a stone to be the heir and one day, future holder of the Adunian Crown. To have such a privilege, nay, Honour brings me with pride and thanks. If I am to be this heir, I would do right by you all. Harrion, my dear Uncle, recognised me himself in front of his Imperial Majesty and not only placed allegiance to me, but accepted my heirage."

Pauses and thinks for a moment

"However it appears that Harrion himself wants not only the title of Lord and heir of the crown, but you all do to. I believe in our traditions and I believe in my family. I will not have the Adunian's and all we stand for, torn apart by our own hands. United we stand, divided we fall."

Looks down at her Father, knowing he's not going to like what she is going to say next..

"As my first and last act of heir, I denounce myself. I will play no part in this fight any longer nor be part of the raging feud that continues between my father and his brother. I thank you for your graces and I hope we can stand together again as kin."

She gives one last smile and sinks back to her seat, hands shaking and face paling waiting for what happens next.

-Snip-

Alasdair stands up from his seat once more after Thomas finishes speaking.

"Actually frien', I remember twas only a few weeks after tae death of Lord Artorus that Harrion appeared. He claimed the throne as 'is own an' I, thinking him mad, had him imprisoned until Torrhen could 'andle the issue. Lord Harrion was then banished by Torrhen, for nary a reason."

Harrion finally speaks up, having been quiet with his hands in his robes the whole time.

"Isabella, dear niece. I appreciate the notion."

He turns to the Emperor.

"Imperial Majesty, if I may remind you. The lawful way you said I may earn the throne is if Torrhen stepped down - he was replaced. Therefore, you said if Isabella steps down I could take what is rightfully mine. Majesty, I believe the throne to Adunia is mine."

"Torrhen stands up and says across the table. "Nay sire! He is now my heir, as Isabella was mine. Also, seeing as you are a contender for the throne, it does not go to you now unless the council says so."

He looks to Alasdair. "Alasdair, my friend, you were there when Winterhall fell, when my father was stabbed to death. So was I, so were many of the faithful Clan leaders here today."

As he wipes back a tear, he points to Harrion. "Was he? Did he fight for the Adunian people, for his family? Nay!" He then waves his hand out to the Emperor. "My father's mistake cost us dearly, yet it was a mistake we paid together, he has not suffered as we have suffered! He has been gone for many a year in Hightower court of Salvus, that has slew many of our people after the war. I hold no ill will to the Hightowers, as the past is the past. Alasdair, I had him arrested as he had tried to take the throne that was mine from me more than twice. He abandoned our people and only returned to take the throne. Do you want that man sitting on it?"

He crosses his arms. "Be that as it may, why should someone who has not bled with his people, who has not held a dying man in his arms as the walls fell down! Who has not comforted a sobbing widow! I for one will not allow such a man to lead my people!"

He takes his seat and looks about the table, looking for their reactions.

Smiles, turning to Torrhen.

"Brother. His Imperial Majesty made it quite clear that I could claim the throne if Isabella denounces herself, and she has. He said the only other way for me to take what is mine is through war, but - Isabella gave up the throne. It is mine, brother. Face it."

Torrhen glares at Harrion. "I will not accept you as my Lord for you will destroy all our people stand for, you are a puppet. Isabella was not Lord, if she forfeited her place AS LORD, it would be yours. She however, was not Lord. I was, and are until the vote says otherwise."

"You are very wrong, brother. You agreed to the stone and that stone said Isabella was Lady. No? Now, she gave up - so it is mine. I do not believe there is anything to debate here."

Smiles, tapping his fingers on the table.

Torrhen grins, sitting up strait. "Dearest brother, she was named 'future' lady. As she is far too young to take the throne, I was named Lord until she came of age at thirty five. Seeing as she gave up her right to the throne, she only removed her candidacy, not her title. Now the vote is between you, and I."

Maester Septimus Hodge begins to laugh hysterically. He gets to the point where there are tears in his eyes, and then he stops, and wipes them away. He stands up.

Torrhen, I don' think ye've noticed, but ye've only got the support of one man. Harrion's got many. What makes ye' think ye've still got a chance?

*Torrhen laughs "One man? Clan Brae, Clan Armas, Clan MacCray, Clan Stafyr, Clan Doune support me, and many more Clans need to vote. Nothing is set, Septimus. I hope you know, the Emperor's own clan, Horen, is Adunian and has the right to vote."
