Purity Renewed

Supremacy

*The sun sets upon the homes of the mali’aheral each and every night and as expected shortly after this occurs each high elf makes their way to their beds. Torches are extinguished and no light is seen until the dawn of the first sliver of the sun the next day. However, it seems most recently this has not been the case. Within Uradir’nuit something seems amiss. For many a night have his torches burnt longer than the rest, he seems to have been working upon something.

It is today that the high elf emerges in the morning, a lengthy piece of parchment covered in writing in hand. Immediately he approaches the message board and procures four lustrous iron pins. In rapid succession each of the four corners is pinned to the message board. The parchment open for all mali’aheral to see. It is placed then within the Inn and in the theater in the same fashion.*

Purity Renewed

Mali’aheral of what once was Haelun’or,

Since the third year of Asulon the mali’aheral lived amongst the other pure within Haelun’or. It was there which our blessed and superior culture was enacted and the truly magnificent ways of the mali’thill were observed. Alas, as we all know Haelun’or is no more. However, that does not mean the values which were seen there must to die with it.

All of those who may be considered enlightened and valued mali’aheral know of the nigh sacred ideal which is the maehr’sae hilun’ehya. In Asulon it was our guide, yet here amongst the mali’ame, mali’ker and countless other elves wishing to reassimilate into our culture it seems that this guideline may no longer be enough if not stipulated in detail. With these new and foreigners comes a hideous and false torrent of egalitarian values which may be only described as nonsense. Let it suffice to say that our streets have been littered with imperfection. Actions which would have seen one met with scorn and disdain in Haelun’or now occur daily. This excessive liberalism must be swiftly stemmed at its source.

It is in recent days I have seen mali’aheral befriend half-breeds of orcs and elves, red eyed mali’aheral accepted amongst us, and others gifting books to tal’uruk for no reason other than the fact they have asked. Though perhaps the most offensive of all was one of our own directly insulting the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Claiming it to be what I will call rather distasteful valah word which should not be repeated for other mali’aheral to read.

It is time action is taken to combat this encroaching threat of mass liberalism and tolerance for that which is incredibly inferior. We as mali’aheral force no one to reside within our district. Therefore, it is rather fair to note that there are many specific and stringent social requirements if one is to exist amongst us.

Let it be proposed that we both remember the laws so justly proposed by the wise former Tilruir’lliran and Mrs. Lazul and remind ourselves of what the purity of the mali’aheral truely is.

Below listed are the grievous liberal acts which must be addressed. Lest further action need be taken.

All actions regarding the association with the incredibly inferior Uruk or excessive association with those of non-mali’thill intentions:

- Offering of resources or knowledge almost regardless of surplus or impact upon the mali’aheral to uruk, tali’uruk or any with uruk within their blood irrespective of what is offered in return. Alternativly the offering of resources of knowledge without benefit in return.

The act of generosity towards those of lesser place is a deplorable act. Not only does it waste the precious and scarce resources of the mali’aheral upon the vastly inferior, but it also it fosters the belief that they are worthy of both the knowledge and the time of the mali’aheral.

Uruk are explicitly barred from this as they never have benefited the mali’aheral and have only slayn and destroyed our kin while wasting our precious resources in the past. This behaviour witnessed most recently by three mali’aheral which will remain nameless though perhaps they deserve more public shaming should said actions continue.

- Social fraternization with uruk, tali’uruk or any with uruk within their blood.

The uruk are both horrendously violent and unintellignet creatures and thus are a threat to both the purity and the safety of many mali’aheral. To befriend such pugnacious and utterly abhorrent beasts becomes almost a crime due to the risks and just as other acts the fact that it engenders the belief that uruk are worthy of both our presence and time.

- Permitting entry to any non-mali’aheral without explicitly defined and adequate purpose. Alternatively it is also a crime to permit entry to the vehemently impure and obviously unrepenting mali’aheral or any with Uruk in their blood who may corrupt our culture further.

Mali’aheral are to be reminded that purpose above all else arbits entry into our blessed and illustrious homes. One would not let a vagrant into their home just as we are not to let purposeless and unbeneficial creatures of other races into our district. Those found in violation of this should be met with scorn to a degree appropriate to precisely what filth they let in.

All actions regarding the physical or mental destruction of purity of oneself or another:

- The preaching of egalitarian or excessively liberal views within or by any mali’aheral of the district.

The preaching of liberal nonsense is not to be tolerated by the mali’aheral. To permit other races to think themselves equal only encourages them to encroach upon our gates and think that they may become friends with those superior to them.

The attempted subjugation of the opinion of another mali’aheral by social or physical means by a fellow mali’aheral or an alien within the district regarding an issue of purity.

It should also be noted by fellow mali’aheral that the following are severe crimes of lewdness as detailed in the Alfakyn/Lazul Campaign and replicated below:

-Physical fraternization outside of marriage.

This despicable crime disrespects the very nature of the matrimonial union. Unmarried elves who physically fraternize disregard the purpose of intercourse, and cause unruly distraction, emotional disruption, and in the worst case scenario--consequences of bastardization, which is the most deplorable crime of all, considering it taints the reputation of an otherwise innocent Mali’aheral child.

-Physical fraternization with a minor (a minor being any Mali below the age of 50 years old).

Children are indeed the most precious safeguard of our illustrious city. Subjecting the emotionally immature mind to such matters is utterly unacceptable, and it disgusts this writer that it need even be listed. Let it be known that Mali under the age of 50 are -unable- to give consent, as their uninformed opinions are too juvenile to be capable of discernment.

-Public fraternization of an intimate nature.

A disrespect of peers and the City’s dignity itself, those who violate this covenant of Haelun’or’s sanctity deserve not to walk her halls.

-Fraternization of any intimate sort with impures, or other races.

Preservation of life itself resides in the idea of purity. To lay waste to one’s untainted Mali’aheral blood is a crime no less potent than murder of another citizen.

-Non-consensual physical fraternization.

Larihei is blind to you, desecrators of this law. It is beyond reproach. The city shall expunge you as a sick stomach does its vile illness.

-Intimate fraternization of an unproductive nature.

All who express intimacy in a public space with a member of the same gender should be treated as unclean, dirtying the sights of their fellows with such a display of uncivilized, unproductive lust.

-Incestuous intimate fraternization of any kind.

No self-respecting Mali will need explanation as to why this type of behavior is both obscene and illegal.

~ As written in the Alfakyn/Lazul Campaign

A Conclusion:

The abhorrent acts of liberalism amongst our ranks must be stopped. This culturally eroding waste which is brought in from the egalitarian culture we exist next to must be acknowledged and subsequently removed or it will progress further and continue to destroy our blessed ways. Do not give in to what others may do, stay true to the beliefs of the pure mali’aheral.

As always lliran: maehr’sae hiylun’ehya

Ebs leaves a note posted below this one, which reads,

"I agree with what some of this document says, however, while I am not as racist as our llir Kalenz is, I cannot tolerate the censoring of people or documents because of their supposed Liberalism. Liberalism and Purity are not the same thing, and your perception has only been changed because the tyrant Nelecar instilled in you that they are the same thing. Quite frankly, not respecting the freedom of speech in the domain of Malinor will never be allowed, and it is not in your self interest. The very right you spite is the one that protects you, and I must ask that if I am to be censored for my doubts about a philosophy that rejects facts and reason and simply says that we are the greatest race, then too this philosophy should be censored. I believe that the philosophy you wish to force down people's throats urges progress, does it not? Then, definitions of progress can be quite varied from individual to individual, and though you may believe that there is only one way forward, I can assure you that others have different ways that I believe will produce better results. Furthermore, while I have to listen to this rubbish every day, and others have to listen to rubbish from me, I will do everything I can to oppose the mandated silence by "liberals" as a way to install a thought police with unlimited power controlled by Kalenz. Van'ayla lliran."

A note upon regal standard is pinned below

I comment simply to bring light to a violation in this document.Liberals cannot be denied the right to profess their beliefs so long as they remain within the laws of Malinor. Should they be rude, distasteful, illogical or encroach on the culture of those of this state, they forfeit such a right. Those parameters retained at the front of ones consciousness then these terms should be acceptable. Should such liberals be unreasonable in the imposement of their ideals upon the Mali'aheral populace they will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Should you have any qualms with this solution feel free to contact me.

I do not agree with this document, it goes against the Malinor law and Mali'Aheral customs. We must be able to say what we think.

Dalia shakes her head, and looks around, hoping no one saw her. She leaves a small note on the board, then quickly hurries away.

Dearest Mali'aheral of Malinor,

I do hope you realize that this announcement holds opinions that will ruin the chances of the Mali'aheral making peace with their neighbors, such as the Uruk and the Valah. I myself have come upon impures, children of an Uruk and a Mali, and they are not as beastly as Kalenz makes them appear to be. One's racial features does not make them a beast or a noble, and only leads to harmful stereotypes. Some Uruks, although most are very beast-like in behavior, are as sensible and intelligent as the Mali inside this fair city, and could be potentially helpful to the future of Malinor. Denying someone access to knowledge based on their race is a big mistake, as even Valah have been wiser than the Mali in some cases.

Along with this, how is it that one race may be better than another? One's ancestors do not pass on their acts of nobleness to their descendants, and yet they are honored, and, in the case of the Mali'aheral, considered to be better than those around them. Would this mean that Prince Khel is less worthy of knowledge and praise than a Mali'aheral? Indeed, the culture of the Mali'aheral make it seem so.

I think it would be best, if perhaps the rules were to bend: Not everyone is as they seem.

*Kalenz eyes Dalia's note, he visibly cringes at the end of each line. Once he reaches the end he tears it from the wall.*

"Do not dare imply Urukan are equal to me." He mutters to himself as he walks away.

Elindor is standing by reading the post as Kalenz rips Dalia's note down.

"Not so much as a valah's lifetime passes and we have morosely forgotten what was once a valuable alliance with the uruk. I fear we have no ally now. Should trialling times arise between us and the valah, as their behaviour continually suggests it will, we have not the strength to hold off an assault. Should we not be seeking a treaty again with the sons of Krug, our nearest brethren?

Purposefully denying their value does nothing but create another enemy in a landscape where we cannot afford to be without friends. While I appreciate the customs of the pure mali'aheral, I cannot condone the practice of this document without your walls. And I will actively oppose it outside of Haelun'or."

A note has been added.

In response to Yuln,

If you had taken the time to read my previous statement you would have noticed I reminded Mr.Uradir to remain within the laws of Malinor. Aside from that, there are no violations to either our customs nor the laws of Malinor.

That being said, Mr. Uradir please amend the original document to fit the necessary corrections I outlined and it's effects shall begin post haste.

Be sure to amend the document as well to state that a re-election of the 'Judges' must occur, those currently in power being excluded from applying, though perhaps keeping those who are still members of our community though have no role in the Malinorian government.

For any other individuals who gain access to the Silver city, keep in mind this only effects those who reside within.

In the future Ms. Aeléyèlsa do try to make your statements both more logical, and more complete in the future, you shall find the responses far more satisfying.

Yet another note lays under the notice.

To all those with concerns towards tali'uruks and their uruk bretheren.

Might I ask in a somewhat unofficial manner: What in the blazes is wrong with you?

It appears there has been a slight alteration in the minds of some mali whom seem rather quick to forget the horrors the urukan have committed against the nations of Malinor and Haelun'or in the years of habitation within Asulon. As usual, many mali have disappointed me by so quickly forgetting the slaughters, the invasions, the enslavings, and the downright cruelty of he uruks. Once again this is due to a single tali'uruk who decided that elven culture was superior, and acted "kindly" towards others. Creatures such as this are the beginning of dangerous tolerance for tali'uruks.

I have seen it before. You will all decide that uruks are "equal" and "misunderstood," and then you will have no issue with allowing them around the districts and future lands of Malinor. Then they will attack people for "insulting" their barbaric culture, or challenging mali to their disgusting "honour-duels." Then after so much violence the mali will be forced to expel all uruks from our lands, and their whole fetid collaboration will percieve this as an offence. They will raid our nation and kill our citizens until we collaborate with their monstrous ways. For posterity, I shall keep a copy of this notice for when this island is finally incapable of sustaining us, and we move on. For when it happens, I wish you all to remember that we warned you.

*Another note is posted*

Why would so many of you seek to stray from our culture? It is by these ideals that we survive. Why else would you have chosen to live among the Mali'Aheral if you wish to claim the Uruk are such a close level to us.

What similarities do you see? Our culture is based in gathering wisdom and literature while the Uruk and Human cultures are based off of glorified war and obscenity. While we may study these cultures we do so to see our flaws and avoid their arrogant mistakes. It saddens me to say that there is a general arrogance hovering over the Mali'Aheral right now. It resides not in those of us that wish to retain our culture but those of us that seek to inadvertently disassemble it by lowering one's self to that of the Uruk.

It amazes me that so many of you would not wish to keep to a culture that nourishes your intellectual desires and protects you from the brutality that is the impure. Even without the impure having legal access to our city many have broken in and harasses and attacked our kin. They seek to destroy us and would gladly do so if we lowered our guard.

Some have said that we risk endangering our alliance with the Uruk if we further prod their kind. I tell you now that if the Uruk wish to break the alliance with all of Malinor due to our intolerance of their brutal behavior then their purpose in an alliance was never to keep peace between our nations. Rather it was to seek out a way to gain access to our city and be-smirk our people. That is what the Uruk do, they see shiny, rare, blessed things and destroy them, ravishing them until there is nothing more.

Think of the disgrace you have brought to our past Mali'Aheral! Not a single one of your births went without careful planning and consideration and here you are seeking to squander the gift given to you. Misuse it to the point where it is unrecognizable. Please my brothers and sisters, I beg that you take into consideration our culture as a whole before you state such rash and unsettling conclusions.

Talk of racism hovers over the notes I am now reading. The mere definition of the word implores a sense of arrogance upon the excused. Let me tell you that I see more arrogance in that of the accuser. These statements made by many of us are not racist but merely stating logical thoughts derived from fact. Facts that the Uruk encourage in their own culture. Have you not forgotten that the Mail'Aheral are the ones that have been attacked again and again? We have been a constant target by the Uruk. They are the ones that have attempted genocide of our kin. They would see us dispelled from this world by means of brutal slaughter given the chance.

Blacken not the blessing you have received. Do not lower yourself to the brutal beings. Do not judge your own brothers and sisters actions to be below the impure merely because they seek to sustain the culture that has protected us for this long. Believe and embrace maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.

If I have not rebutted any of your statements let me finish off with one question.

If you wish to open your arms to the Uruk or the other races then why have you chosen to live with the Mail'aheral and not in another district?

If you cannot answer that question then your thoughts on the subject and full of naivete. If you find that your answer remains as arrogant as it began then I can tell you that the Mali'ame district will please you much more. You are cutting an already perfect gem, turning it into a misshapen rock.

Respect the right you were born with.

A ruffled and scrunched up note appears loosely tacked behind the other Mali'aheral's torrents of notes by a blonde elf carrying a lute. Seeing someone coming to the notice board, she throws on the hood of her ragged brown cloak and slowly trots away on her weary looking steed.

I'm just a traveler. For that reason, some may find my input useless or unneeded. I've seen the deserts of the orcish lands, not for the faint of heart. The argument a single spoiled fruit ruins the basket is commonly presented in this topic, which I am sure has been debated back and forth since the inception of the pillars of maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Yet, are the people who present that argument slow to realize one thing? There is no denial that there are clear differences between the races, whether it be the valah lords on their thrones, the bortu in by the anvils, the mali in the forests, or the uruk in the sand. The uruk, or as I have long to refered to them as, the orcs carry innate bloodlust. Hiylun means peace. Would you let in an angry wolf, who was bred to create havoc into a community where a central pillar is peace? Are you not aware of the great warriors of the orcs, who achieve the title of Rex only to lose it shortly later?

Soften your heart up to such a creature and perhaps it's nature will catch up to you soon enough.

But what do I know, I'm just a traveller.

Dalia approaches the board and frowns, seeing her note removed. She quickly takes out a quill, writes another note, and leaves it there. The last paragraph is written as if someone was shaking, with anger.

To whoever took down my note, and the others reading this,

You think your culture will protect you from the threat of invaders. You are wrong. The belief that you are superior will not save you from kidnappings, murders, thefts, and the concept of war. But, war is not started for the mere idea of land and power. It is started to prove who is superior. One side thinks they are being told that they're inferior, so they attack the other side. This only leads to more conflict.

This is what happens when Mali'aheral meet those they think are inferior. The Mali'aheral always do this when they see the Uruks or Valah. They judge those they see by what they look like, and not what's inside. That's what matters, you numbskulls! You never see this. Your ways, unless they change, will only lead to more conflict. Safety is not something that a gate and a few racial exclusions can keep. Your false sense of security is only because you are a part of Malinor, so the Council is obliged to protect the Mali'aherals.

The only thing that will come on the wing of future, is the feather of death.
