Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, but it seems this thread (or whatever you call it) should be locked because it seems it is all evolving into a great flame war, and all these "Hey *insert name*" things are just a bit silly. (yes i know theres only 3 or 4 but they are truly kind of dumb)

Everyone just needs to get along and stop their bickering about this and let the GMs/builders/admins do their job

Seems someone made a boo boo on the front page then, eh.

Is like making halflings the most powerful race, and Orcs peaceful weaklings.

I guess you missed this...

If a child kills an orc, it's quite clear that it is BS, so you report it, examples such as that are so silly it beggars belief.

If you're going to give an example then please make sure it's applicable and realistic, because at the moment all I see is 'small man can kill big man with pvp therefore, no.' When in reality, such examples make no sense and are blatant powergaming.

EDIT:- if this is being interpreted as a back and forth flame war, then you have the wrong idea. We need not lock this thread as these points are important and the discussions should continue till everyone has everything they want off their chest.

Add regenerating redstone/gold veins on the near surface of said PVP island.  Watch as companies/factions start having armed expeditions into this island to gather these impossible to find resources.

The logistics of making these nodes would be hell though.

Hey

Hey Sorsby

Then why does the front page say ''Minecrafts #1 serious Roleplaying community and server''?

Putting PVP in a RP server

Is like making halflings the most powerful race, and Orcs peaceful weaklings.

EDIT: Yes, I agree we should have the small amount of PVP to settle tense RP fights, but making a WHOLE island just for PVP?

Hey

Hey Stephansj

The frontpage says that because we RP

Not because we are an RP only server.

An area like this would give actual fear. People would actually avoid it unless they are in force. You aren't forced to avoid it, feel free to go where there is a harsh environment and gangs of robbers. RP fights take ages. This allows for a more dynamic and quicker way for an area to be feared.

Just wanted to give a headsup completely offtopic probably: Small men Can defeat big guys IRL. Simply because the smaller guy can be faster than the big bulky guy. Can be in street fights and definately done if you know martial arts. So thus, elves and men can defeat 9 feet tall orcs if they have training of some sorts. However they shouldn't, as stated, be able to catch or absorb their massive punches. Rply, orcs aren't very fast so if your fast Rply, you could defeat them. Even if you aren't very fast ingame but you actually know how to RP fight without PGing, you can defeat them. Anyway, continue your Close.To.Flame.War on whether pvp should be allowed or not on the main island. In my opinion, the island shouldn't be pure pvp but instead have at least a tiny bit of RP engagement before the attack. End of stupid post

Edit- Anyone who says small men can't defeat a big man or else it is PG is a ding dong and doesn't know anything about fighting.

Stop bickering amongst yourselves and mocking each other, or else you'll all be warned. Whether you disagree or not, stop acting like children trying to get the last word. If you have something to say, say it in a mature manner, or step away from your computer until you are ready to return with a mature response. I hate to sound like a patronizing mother, but such action is necessary when you're all acting like adolescents.

EDIT:

In response to some other things. This has been stated a few times already, but just in case you missed it, the development of 2.5 takes NO time away from the finishing of 3.0. Although we are happy that you guys are inputting your opinions that you think we should stay on the current island, you should also be aware that we are definitely going to this next island as a result of the majority vote made by the rest of the players. The result of this vote can be found in the OP.

Well if its a No-RP kill island a halfling can kill a Orc even though its obviously powergaming and unreasonable, its a No-RP Island, so you cant report them.

EDIT: And Mili, I'm sorry, but I'd rather have a detailed RP fight rather than ''i haz diamondz armurz i beatz u, /damage 20 noaw.''

Sounds pretty cool.

Four islands surrounded by a No-mans land.

If you want fear though, why not make dungeons? Areas with high spawn rates of one monster and traps.

Dark environments, creepy and graphic backstories, Silverfish in the walls. etc etc.

If it is a group of islands, what method of travel would we use to get to each one? Are they close enough together we could just use bridges? Or would we have to use boats?

Why can't this "Badlands" area work a lot like how the King's Road did in Aegis. The bandits just chose to wait on the road for unsuspecting civilians. I remember being absolutely terrified of King's Road back then, and it wasn't even made for the reasoning of being mugged.

I agree completely. ( Even though I wasn't here in Aegis )

I'd love to have just one long road, but I guess it isn't good enough for the community these days, or some crap like that.

I like the idea of adding dangerous dungeons to the island or even doing "verge-like" features.

The verge was terrifying.  The days were short and nights super long. Mob spawns were CRAZY and the mobs needed special weapons to kill.

I agree. Rather than having an island where people are cursed and do villainous deeds, we should leave it up to the villains to play their own role. I simply don't like the idea of any player being allowed to do villainous acts.
