A Message To Any Interested Prince

*A note is pinned on a wooden pillar just off the docks on the Elven island in Kalos. It is written in a gold-colored ink in the fine hand-writing one would expect of a High Elf*

To any interested Prince of Malionor,

Though you likely do not know me, my name is Chirr'ceru Muriel. I have spent much of my life away from my kin, but have recently decided to rejoin my kin. I have written my citizenship application, as was recommended to me by several Mali, and would like to become a productive member of our society.

Recently, I had an idea by which I could serve Malinor, one which I would much like to do. I would like to start a courier service, and I would like to run it near the docks. I have tried on several occasions to find members of our society who could grant me such a privilege, but have been unable for whatever reason. For this reason, I post this notice, in order to hopefully garner the attention I have been unable to achieve in person.

While this may sound like it would only benefit myself, I can assure you having a courier service in Malinor is beneficial to all citizens. Given that the mali live in a number of separate communities, such as the mali'aheral community or that of the mali'ame, it is often difficult to find those whom we seek. This service could make communication within our race far more simple and efficient.

Furthermore, communication to those in other nations is growing exceedingly difficult. With ocean separating each race's lands, it is no simple feat to travel from one nation to the next. Also, it is exceedingly dangerous for many mali to travel outside of the realm of Malinor. With the persecution of mali'ker by the valah scum known as the White Rose, travelling to Oren is essentially a death sentence to a huge portion of the mali. The portu have always maintained a certain derision towards our race, and our cultural differences makes most elves uncomfortable when in their lands, to say the least, and travelling to uruk lands is out of the question for almost all save their own kind. This service would promote trade and communication with the outside world without the risk of injury or death by those promoting our race's prominence.

Now one could argue that birds are an extremely effective method of communication, and in some situations, they are. However, there are many shortcomings to birds. For one, they cannot carry much more than a few sheets of paper, or perhaps a very small book. They cannot be utilized for trade. Also, if someone is underground or not where the bird is sent, then it is highly unlikely the message being sent will be delivered to the recipient. Likewise, a bird cannot tell you what happened to your message right after it was delivered. However, the reason which I personally find most compelling to not use birds is simple; a bird does not know the danger of an arrow until they've experienced one firsthand.

I could go on and on regarding the reasons to have a courier service, but, as I believe is evident to you, there is little room left on this sheet of paper. I implore whomever reads this and has the authority to act upon it, simply leave a note below with information on how we might meet to discuss this. Thank you for considering my proposal.

~Chirr'ceru

((As far as OOC reasons go for this, if this service were expanded past just my character, this service could be used to potentially accommodate for the difficulty of communication between people who play on different time zones. I'm sure I could come up with some sort of system that would hopefully bypass time zone conflicts completely. Also, everyone always says people should RP as a courier, so don't ruin my aspirations to fulfill the desires of others :P))

Walking through the docks on the way to the Elven tavern, Saviticus takes notice of the fancy notice. Skimming it's contents while scratching his beard, he suddenly let's loose a hearty laugh. "Th' rest o' th' Dwarves make me uncomfortable t'! Chasin' me out fer jus' plantin' some trees!" Chuckles again, turning to face the wood-like toad perched on his shoulder. "Suppose we teach 'em t' talk t' animals, eh? Then couriers dun need t' go riskin' themselves when an animal would d' it all safe an' all!" The toad slowly turns to the Forest Dwarf, his large unblinking eyes glazed over from disinterest. "BAH! Yet nay fun, Frankie. Yeh really aren't!" Shaking his head, the aged dwarf turns and heads into the tavern looking for something to drink.

((Sorry for the essential bump post, but could I have some kind of response from the Princes, even if it is just them reading the notice and ignoring it. My note is in a central location, has not been removed RP'ly, and it clearly addresses the Princes. I would hunt you guys down in-game, but basically every time I see any of the Princes (of which my character only knows what Khel and Kolyat look like RP'ly), you all seem so preoccupied in engaging and somewhat more important RP, I feel bad trying to rip you from it. Anyways, sorry for the long OOC post, so I'll leave some RP below too :P))

*Chirr'ceru returns to the note a number of times, each time disappointed with the lack of response. Growing frustrated, Chirr'ceru removes several other sheets of paper, copying the notice down to the letter on several other sheets of paper in the same golden-colored ink. Thinking about where he'd seen Elven Princes around the island, Chirr'ceru posts new notices on a post outside of the library, on a tree upon the path leading to the library, upon a tree near the path up the hill from the docks, down the path towards the mali'aheral district, as well as a number of other arbitrary locations. Satisfied that his message would be received, Chirr'ceru travels to a less populated part of the island to try and hunt*

Elorna passes by one of the new notices on her way to the library and stops to look over it, a smile forming as she reads. She continues on her way and while at the library pens a response and leaves it below his original message.

"Karin'ayla, Chirr'ceru, and welcome to Malinor.

I think your idea is an excellent one, and you should not need any kind of permission from the Council to begin. If you need help in getting started, possibly supplies or a location, you could contact me if you wish. I am not on the High Council, however I am a scribe on the Lower Council.

If you will require a location, I believe there are shops and stalls open on the docks and up the hill. For that specifically you could speak to one of the Princes, though the Stewards may be more available.

Once again, if there is anything at all you may need, I will be more than happy to help.

~Elorna Avern"

((Ebs could also help out with getting you a head-quarters, I would think. If you don't know who the Stewards are, go here: Malinor Officials.

Anyway, I think this would be an awesome idea, especially for getting messages and packages to the Mali'aheral district and Oren. Good luck with it!))

*Chirr'ceru walks around Malinor, checking each letter he'd posted for a response. He'd grown so used to the lack of response, he almost glanced over the response posted below his original letter out of habit. Surprised by the new response, he reads it, a wide grin upon his face. He removes another crisp sheet of paper from his pack, quickly writing a message in his elegant golden writing and posting it below the response*

Karin'ayla, Elorna.

Your response and warm welcome are most appreciated. I would be very grateful if you could manage to spend some of your time aiding me in my endeavor. Perhaps we could arrange a time and place to meet, or if not, perhaps we could try and find one another.

In case we run into each other before agreeing on a time and place, I am a moderately tall mali'aheral with short blonde hair, typically either wearing green travel-wear or more elegant blue and red clothing. I always have a bow at my back. If you see someone fitting this description, it is more than likely me.

Thank you again for the help.

~Chirr'ceru

((Basically you can use my description to RP recognizing me when you see me IC, if that happens.

Also, I probably won't be on Chirr'ceru tonight, but maybe we could try to set up a time to meet tomorrow night or this weekend? Do you think we could try to meet tomorrow?))
