Outside of St. Amyas' chapel, there stands a modest shrine.GXBmp4U.png

Melissa de Stolistes is dead. This is the end of her story. Those who wish to pray for her safe entry into the heavens may visit her shrine there.

((Please do some RP on this post if you want to visit her shrine.))

Duchess Chrestienne Valois steps toward the shrine, sinking her head as she mutters something under her breath,

"That tea party would've been a real delight. We can still have it one day, and I will be looking forward to that day no doubt."

As she continues looking over the shrine for what seems like hours but was merely minutes a small tear rolls down her cheek. Wiping it away quickly she rests a few of the finest red roses she could find in her duchy above her name, a small twinkle in her eyes before she steps away.

After walking for about an hour, and thinking on the recent events of his own life, Kalameet finds himself at the shrine of Melissa. He throws down his hood and stares, just barely able to make out the words of the shrine, his gaze focuses on the dirt of the ground. Kalameet remembers the name, it's the name of one of his first teachers. His face and mask are both emotionless, devoid of compassion for Melissa.

Kalameet speaks, his voice sounding like an echo from behind his mask.

"Master... The ground has taken hold of you, I see."

Kalameet turns, putting his hood up once more. As he walks away, he thinks of what he has learned of death, and what his First Teacher taught him. He dismisses this, continuing to walk away, never again giving a thought to Melissa. For she was weak, like his previous Teachers before her.

Godwein silently approaches the shrine, a sad expression on his face. Remaining silent for first, he then goes and speaks...

"Time gives and time takes. Yet it seems you have been chosen, Lady de Stolistes... sadly, the wrong choice... I wish to thank you for the support and friendship I've had during our time we were wandering this world together. I hope that Alexander will be alright... It may sound wrong, but I must admit that I know what kind of feelings will dwell within him, as my wife has gone before you. Please tell her that I miss her."

He smiles sadly and continues.

"I presume I will join you and all the others who were before you and me somewhen soon. Maybe tomorrow, a year, two, ten, twenty or maybe even sixty. When time calls, I shall be there. We will meet again, Melissa. Rest now. It was an honor to know you."

Godwein bows respectfully and leaves a small hand-sized wooden cross on the shrine. Silently he goes, as he has come.

Adam stands above the memorial, his head hung low, his hair soaked by the rain.

His axe is lain down at his side, a bundle of flowers in his hand. His face is laden of sorrow,

and it is obvious his has been drinking, though, not his usual, cheerful drinking.

He shivers in the cold, though he never gets cold. He shakes and wimpers

as never before. His life has been shattered.

"'Allo Melissa..."

He sniffs, and wipes a tear from his eye.

"I-"

He stutters his words.

"I don't really know why ya' did this... I know you weren't the happiest of lasses but...

but... this? Why did ya' 'ave to resort to it? It's not tha' way... but... I suppose

I can't change that now... You can't change that now."

He pauses for a moment, water dripping down from his soaked hair.

"You were tha' best of friends lass...

When I first saw ya'... well... you just reminded me so much of 'er...

Abigail...

But, ya' weren't 'er, and I didn't treat ya' like ya' were.

You were my friend, the wife of my friend, and the mother of

my god-daughter..."

He stops once again, recalling his god-daughter.

"Poor lil' Amber... I don't know what she'll do.

I know Alexander ain't gonna' care for 'er... but..."

He sniffs once more.

"I want to take her in with me and my family, but...

Am I really fitting? I'm gettin' old... my bones ache...

Could I possibly raise another child? I've got enough problems with me own...

I ain't fit to be a father... I've failed that once."

He drops the axe onto the ground.

"No... I've got to be. Not just for you, not just for me, but for her.

Aye.

Aye I'll take 'er in."

We might not be the most proper people in Oren but... we're full of love."

He places his flowers on the memorial, and the rain begins to lighten up.

"I suppose this is goodbye then.

I'm gonna' miss ya' lass... You were tha' sunshine in me day."

He steps back from the memorial, looking up to the clearing sky.

He sighs, turning back to see his company waiting for him, watching.

He looks back once more to the grave, a smile on his face as he mutters-

"Goodbye Melissa."

He turns away and begins making his way back home.

*Sancor the Grim walks through Oren, and hears about the death. He heads to the memorial.*

"Once, long ago, I would have felt... Happiness at the death at a human. No longer, I say."

"Live well in the embrace of Aeriel. May you feel the sunrise once more."

*He leaves, but places his first staff by the grave before leaving.*

Thalin Letholdus brings his arm back and forward in celebration, a smirk forming under the man's helmet.

"I 'ad no part in it but that don't mean I ain't gonna celebrate."
