Please read the following!

1. The Wilds is a free for all state, some consideration does apply.
1a. If you declare war, the other person has to be online to defend. This includes ripping down homes, property, destruction of farms, and massive slaughtering of animals.

2. No, you cannot have regions.

3. Region ruins cannot be taken over, for they are part of Anthos the event team and are ment to be explored. You may or may not be eaten by dragons doing so.

4. You can build homes, guilds, and structures in the wilds.
4a. You can claim land that is reasonable. Walling off large areas can result in bans or being torn down.
Guide: This is just a guideline you may do larger but it excessive fencing and walls can and will be removed.
                           1 Player 10 x 10
                           2 Players 15 x 15
                          3 Players 20 x 20
                           4 Players 25 x 25
                            5 players 30 x 30
4b. Any structure defacing, and/or considered land scarring will and can be removed at anytime without notification.

5. You may ONLY steal!
5a. You may steal up to 50% of unlocked chests, be reasonable...

By going in the wilds you abide by these rules listed along with server rules.

-No lock-picking allowed, removed.

Imo: Lockpicking without a VA in the wilds doesn't work from an RP sense. How can an individual suddenly enter a new region, and gain the ability to lockpick, where elsewhere they where unable to. Doesn't make sense. Sorry

-snip-

Not so much 'gain the ability', but their conscience would be clearer and they would be less nervous when away from the populated areas. An innocent 'justification' would be that they are stealing from someone who is probably gone and the house is not used anymore, so they'd lock-pick.

Otherwise, you need a VA.

If you didn't know how to lockpick beforehand, have lockpicks on you, etc. what would make the wilds allow you to lockpick? This rule makes it so that players can powergame lockpicking, in my opinion.

I understand that some players want to be less restricted, but I honestly don't think letting those who don't have any lockpicking experience be able to suddenly pick open locks is the answer. Perhaps they are able to break locks more easily (if they player hasn't been in the area/online in a while) due to them not being taken care of, as they are in the city. This could still use /roll 19 and have the freedom players desire without making it seem like powergaming.

This right here.  It makes no sense, and people will just abuse the lockpicking rules.

I do not think your character suddenly gains the ability to lockpick... you'd just be able to without a VA. ICly it doesn't make much sense unless you happen to be a locksmith or only lockpick in the wilderness. You would need experience, but this ISN'T granting lockpicking experience to anyone.

That's what I was trying to say. You would need experience, and walking into the wilderness doesn't suddenly grant you that experience, nor the tools for lockpicking, and so on.

Nay, but perhaps that is up to the player to moderate - all these guidlines show is the opportunity to lockpick. It's up to the player to make sure his character is well-versed before doing so.

(if only we had a skill plugin ;p)
