As Queen Aila sat in bed in the Salvus holding the twins she had given birth to, bells rung out through the city to signal the happy occasion. A boy named Ascher, a girl named Aeda, and their mother all came away from the birth alive and well.

((Now, for the big OOC portion. Who's playing the kids? Not sure yet! Here's how you apply. Copy and complete the application below in this thread, and I'll pick two people. We don't have skins yet, but we will. If you'd like to provide one that'd be okay too. c:

This is so everyone has a fair chance, don't be afraid to apply! I'll give at least a week before I select people. No reason to have them being played before they can walk.

What do you envision the character's personality being like?

Ascher:

A child's personality is moulded around the way they grow up, the environment and the people who has nurtured the child since birth. The personality could be changed with very little work since a child's mind is one of the most vulnerable stages throughout there life, I would hope for a loving boy who has the utmost respect for most people, one that people can enjoy speaking to about many different things.

At first the child would not be so confident, sticking farely close to his mother and father for the time being, just like any other baby would, though as he got to know his surroundings he would come out of his shell bit by bit. I wish for Ascher to have a posh nature though not in a snobby way, The voice and clothes he wears are fitted for him, though they do not change the way a child thinks, the early life for Ascher would be all fun and games, possible hard work for his Parents though as he grows older he will fall mature and a half-decent man.

Aeda:

In fact Aeda's personality would not really differ from her brother's, though twins, Aeda would look up to Ascher in times of need. She would get on very well with her family, at the young she will be quite shy at times though very quickly adapt to the people around her and from their views she would be quite the menace, not so much to cause serious trouble but stuff like, maybe she would sneak out to discover new places or make new friends. Aeda would not be the snobby and hated Princess, she would aid for the men that fights the battles, care for the children that have lost family and more importantly care for her own children when she would hopefully come of age.

Aeda's personality would fall heavily around that of her mothers, after all she would be the top role model for such a young girl, The postures, The words and behaviour would all be copied for Aeda, in her own eyes believes that her mother is perfect. This does not mean that she gets angry, if that was to happen she would need calming down. Also no sibling relation comes with pure gold, ever brother and sister fight a little and after a few tough days I should imagine they begin to wind each other up.

Have you played a child before?

I have played a child yes, His name was Joseph De Stolistes I Roleplayed him when he was 4 till around 10 years of age

What age would you like to start playing?

Whenever really needed, I love the Rp, if it was possible to Roleplay the child at one years of age I would happily do so.

The Child's Early Life

Ascher:

Ascher was small for his size when he was born, though he was a strong child, lying next to his Twin sister they could not be told apart, Both children were beautiful and healthy. As they grew a little older Ascher found it hard and struggled to learn to walk, one thing that Aeda was much better at, this did not mean he had anything wrong with him, he just took a little longer learning the "Basics of life". Ascher quickly realised that the family he was born into was a caring family one that knew how to raise children so he and his sister had the best up bringing.

When it came round to talking Ascher picked up a few basic words such as Mumma and Pappa, then a few more on the way, he did not struggle with talking as much as he did when walking, though he had a lot to learn from the people around him. Ascher kept close eyes on his sister and mother, he tried to copy the way they acted as he knew that he could not go wrong copying the people closes to him.

In Ascher's early teens he would be like any other teenage boy, confused with a lot of things though he would want to find out what suited him, whether that was through war or Politics this would all depend on the surround atmosphere and the people within, He would follow close to his Father learning as he went, more of a "Work Experience" though he would need to prove himself worthy for any role within his own family.

Aeda:

(There is not much I can really say about Aeda that would be different to the way she would be as a child like her brother) At the teenage years Aeda would be quite the mischievous girl, her love fore adventure and knowledge is inescapable, they may be times where she has "Gone Missing" but only for a matter of hours as she discovers new things and places, Aeda would never mean to upset people but at the young age of 16/17 her mind is a very busy place and sometimes she might just need a place to relax.

Aang Al-Jabbar: Biography above

Shimazu Iwao: Biography above.

(This is not all my characters, as I have forgot a couple, or they were unimportant. I also had my most recent characters, starting from Elrohir down.)

Have you rpd with the Greens before? Yes, as Elrohir when I stayed with Alexander I was often visited and chatted to by Adam Green.

Have you rpd with the Hightowers before?  Yes, I have roleplayed with Lancel several times, and

What do you envision the character's personality being like? Most likely a well educated knight, and excellent strategist. Although I try not to set in the Golden Rules, as I find Child Roleplay to be very efficient for finding your character's personality. It all depends on how he is raised, and the people he is raised around.

Have you played a child before? Yes, I was the third person to roleplay a child on the server. Next to someone I forgot, and Vekaro.

What age would you like to start playing? I am fine with absolutely whatever age you wish, but I'd prefer age 3 or 4 so that I can actually communicate with those around me, rather than laying on my back and drooling.

Proved an rp sample: My situation of choice, aged 9 Ascher playing in the courtyard while his father and mother are at leave. For this situation his personality is Rambunctious, Mischevious, Clever, and Somewhat intelligent.

Ascher grins to himself mischievously as he notices the Royal guards aren't paying too much attention to him. He runs  in toward the castle and sits on his father's throne, feeling empowered. He giggles to himself and repeats, "I am King Ascher Hightower, The Almighty!" After a few minutes he grows bored with himself and runs up the stairs of the castle and peeks into his parents room. He climbs into their bed and rolls around giggling madly and thinks to himself. 'I'll blame it all on the servants!' Then sticking his finger up his nose and wiping a booger on his father's pillow. "That'll show 'em for not buying me another horse." He then runs off down into the courtyard and climbs up onto the wall and heaving out his chest as he pretends to patrol. "Hmmph! I am a trained Shield of Salvus! Fear me you peasants!" He then would pick up a rock and throw it down on the ground where it crumples apart.. "You see that! I'm so strong I broke it!" He would then run off and sneak out the gates excitedly. Running around the city he would scold the peasants as they pass, and even demanding a woman kneel down and kiss his feet. After a while he comes around Dawn's Bakery and notices a shadowy man who approaches him. Filled with fear, Ascher tries to run off, but is snatched by the man and is slowly dragged off. Ascher nearly frozen with fear, notices a nearby rock and grabs it. Hiding this rock until their destination when he is released, but cornered. He holds up the rock and hits the man in the face. As the man staggers back from the surprise blow, Ascher takes this chance to flee. Arriving back in the castle courtyard panting heavily a Shield calls over to him asking, "Young Prince, what troubles you?" Ascher gulps to himself and shakes his head, "N-Nothing! Forget this ever happened!" He then runs off to his quarters and hides underneath the covers of his bed shivering and thinking of what might of happened if he did not escape.

Character applying for: Ascher

General activity level: More than I would like to admit.

Characters you play currently and a brief description of them:

Count Adam Green - The jolly Count of Baile.

Ka'Vafee - The mother of 9 Kha children

Kaelric - Sadistic Lich Minion

Characters you have played in the past and a brief description of them: N/A

Have you rpd with the Greens before?

Pfft! I invented the Greens!

Have you rpd with the Hightowers before?

I most certainly have.

What do you envision the character's personality being like?

I imagine Ascher to take more after the personality of the Greens, being rather kind and down to earth, though his is a prince, and he bloody well knows it, and how to use it.  He's incredibly proud of the Hightower lineage, and of Salvus as a whole. He loves to be among the people of his kingdom, always taking walks about the streets, and often seen wooing the women of the city. He knows how unlikely it is that he will ever become king, but he aspires to act as one for the sake of the people of Salvus. He does not stand for injustice, or any crime afflicted upon his fellow man, and is ruthless when asserting his justice, a side of him rarely seen. He often looks to his two brothers, Lancel and Garth as examples, and always stays close to his mother. (Due to the fact that James will likely be dead the majority of his life.)

Have you played a child before?

Never, unless actually being a child counts.

What age would you like to start playing?

At the ripe old age of four, where he will be able to walk, talk, and communicate  along with remember various encounters. Studies show we do not consciously retain information until the age of four.

Proved an rp sample; this can be screenshots, or chat logs. If you have none of the above, write a situational story about something happening to the character. You may use any topic, and write at any point during the child's life.

Nineteen years after the birth of Prince Ascher and Princess Aeda, on a dark, foggy night, a bloodcurdling scream is heard echoing throughout the city streets. While the Shields were called to find the source, they were forced back inside by the incredible storm rolling swiftly in.

The next morning, a body was discovered, pinned up against the chapel wall, impaled with one of the metal rungs from the graveyard fence.  A crowd gathers around the body, sporting many who claim to have witnessed the act, but were unable to report it due to the storm. The Shields sent for Ascher, due to the current absence of his brother, the king. ((Assuming Lancel is King)). Upon arriving, Ascher is swarmed by the crowd, men and women calling out accusations inaudible over the rabble. Ascher simply stands, silent, waiting for the crowd to settle, which they courtly do. He calls out - "People of Salvus, those who claim to have bore witness to this horrid dead, step forward, and confess what you have seen!". The people stand silent for a moment before they begin to shuffle around, letting the witnesses step forward. A crowd of ten stands before Ascher, all of them common people of the city.  "Now then, you are all to tell me the exact details of what you saw last night.". One by one they stepped forward, all describing more or less the same thing of a raggedy looking boy, perhaps sixteen, trying to rob the victim as he made his way through town, but when the  man fought back, the boy ripped one of the old rungs from the fence, stabbing the man through the stomach. Ascher asks the crowd what the boy looked like, and as he went down the row, listening to the discriptions, one of the witnesses called out "There! There he is! That's him!", pointing to the side of one of the houses, where the raggedy boy lay, curled up in a ball, in a puddle formed by the storm on the night prior. His clothes were soaked, but there was no mistaking the obvious blood stain splattered across his tunic. He looked up to Ascher from his weeping. "Boy, is what they say true?". The boy remain silent for a moment, sniffling before giving a simple, regretful nod. "My brother... he's sick, see? I needed the money to pay for the doctor.". The boy looked back down, towards the ground, ashamed. Ascher stood silent for a moment, shutting his eyes. "Shields, take the boy to the block.". The Shields do as they are instructed, escorting the boy and the Prince to the headsman's block outside the city. One of the Shields calls out - "Your highness, why do we not simply send him to the gallows?". The Prince doesn't hesitate when replying. "No, I will carry out this justice myself.". The Shield stands for a moment before nodding, falling back in line. The boy kneels before the block, looking up to Ascher over his incredible weeping. The Prince looks down to him, his sword drawn. "I'm sorry boy, but this crime does not go unpunished. You damned your fellow man, and as such, you are damned." He brings his hand down, forcing the boy to lay on the block. "Perhaps you will find better luck in the afterlife." He raises his sword above his head as the boy remains, sobbing uncontrollably. "Creator guide you.". Ascher brings his sword down swiftly, removing the boy's head with a swift stroke, ending his life.

((Essentially what I was trying to show with this was a little bit of my plan for Ascher's personality. He has no tolerance for unjust harm brought upon other men, even if he is sympathetic towards  their reasoning. He did show sympathy for the boy, but it did not stop him from what had to be done. He believes justice should be dealt by those who give the verdict, and instead of leading the boy to the gallows, ended his life himself at the block.))

Character applying for: Aeda

General activity level: Moderately active, about 5 hours on a weekday
and possibly more on weekends

Characters you play currently and a brief description of them:

Rhaegar Woodsong: An ambitious elf who spent most of his days farming
in the fields of Alras, until he found his true calling in the game of human
politics. Rhaegar was by no means a large elf, but brawn was not what he
needed, nor found any use for. Rhaegar used his quick tongue and fast mind to
quickly rise in Oren’s Hierarchy. Now, Rhaegar’s achievements were hardly fit
for legend, but his blitz to relative power was enough to satisfy his ambition.
Rhaegar retired to a more quiet life or farming and trading, using his brains
and his renown to ling his pockets with gold.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frederick Millicent: ((I have just started playing Frederick, and I
will describe his life and personality so far)).
Frederick was born in Norjun, a vast agriculturally based Duchy in
Oren. Frederick, a scholar and a human, was expected to put his mind to work
for the Holy Oren Empire. This, of course, is Frederick’s dream. However, lack
of communication within Oren has made it difficult for Frederick; he has no way
of proving his worth. Frederick’s current mission is locating a venue in which
his knowledge will be of use, quite preferably a venue related to the Empire.
Characters you have played in the past and a brief description of
them:
Myrcella Flormai:
Myrcella, a wood elf, was adopted by an aging wizard by the name of
Salamandra when she was two. She, along with her sister and two brothers, found
a quiet home in Normandor with their new parents. As Myrcella grew older, her
siblings left Normandor to start their own lives, but Myrcella stayed and
learned from her father. Over the years, Myrcella became known in the city of
Normandor, and became a well-liked figure in the community. However, her father
decided it was best for them to move to Holm. In Holm, where the cold winds
blow relentlessly, Myrcella grew tired of her lonesome life, and set out to
find adventure. Myrcella was never seen again.
Edrick Strorm:
Edrick, a simple minded lumberjack, was born into a large family of
other simple minded lumberjacks. Like his father before him, Edrick lived in
Salvus, working hard for the city and often learning from his co-workers. For
many years, Edrick spent his days cutting, hauling and stacking wood, until one
day he simply collapsed in the woods. His body was found by passing rangers and
brought to the city where his body was identified by the guards. Edrick was 53,
and they say that when the rangers found him, he had a smile on his lips.
 These aren’t all my characters, by the way, I may have missed a few,
as I have only listed those most significant in my LoTC lifetime.
Have you rp’d with the Greens before? No.
Have you rp’d with the Hightowers before? The most RP I’ve done with
them was as Edrick, working as a lumberjack and occasionally speaking with the
king. I’ve often been present and within earshot of the Hightowers during their
RP, and have been witness to many conversations.
What do you envision the character's personality being like?
Ambitious, proper, well spoken. I think a very pompous, upright female
character would work fantastically in contrast with a playful, mischievous
brother counterpart. This combination of opposites would create some great RP. The
same is true if both children have the same personality. If both Aeda and her
brother were well spoken, upright individuals then the RP would be magnificent.
Still, as sprintindwarf said, I firmly believe the child’s
personality should be changeable, depending on how he/she is raised and by whom
they are raised.
Have you played a child before? Yes, Salamandra’s adopted daughter.
What age would you like to start playing? I’m not sure what age
children start to develop a distinct personality, but I don’t really want to
play Aeda until she is mature enough to really be the character I envision her
as being. I’d say at least, and I mean at least four years old, because
I think at that point Aeda would be able to develop a more in-depth character,
rather than just * Aeda giggles and jumps around, “Mama, Papa!” etc, etc. Of
course, those kinds of situations must take place, because a kid is a kid, and
I will play Aeda at that stage of mental development if I must, but the fun in
playing a child is the development years, not the shallow, “googoo gaga” years.
Proved an rp sample; this can be screenshots, or chat logs. If you
have none of the above, write a situational story about something happening to
the character. You may use any topic, and write at any point during the child's
life.
Situation: A chilly fall day, Aeda’s brother is playing outside, and
Aeda’s mother approaches her to talk:
“Why don’t you go out and
join your brother, darling?” Aila asks, a thin smile folding on her lips.
“What, so I can look just as
foolish?” Aeda replies with a hint of suppressed attitude, as she pushes her
shoulders back and looks the other way.
“Now, a little fun never
hurt anyone. I’m sure he could use some company out there. I’m telling you, Aeda,
there won’t be many opportunities to play in the leaves when you’re older.
Enjoy youth while you have it.”
“I guess you’re right, Ma, I
just didn’t want to dirty my clothes, is all” Aeda stands, quickly straightening
her gown. “But if he pushes me into the mud again, I’m going to hit him”.
Aila chuckles softly,
“Now there, darling, be nice
to your brother”.
Aeda bounds down the small
steps and skips over to her energetic brother, and they play together, happily
conversing and lollygagging until the sun sets. (I stopped there because I didn’t
really know the Male Character’s personality, so I couldn’t write his RP.)
((Basically all I was
showing there was Aeda’s seemingly unbreakable posture and elegance, that, when
nudged hard enough, reveals that she can be an enjoyable person. Aeda shows
here that when questioned by those outside the family, she acts proper,
upright, and presentable. But when it is clear that there is no threat, she
lets her walls come down.))
Damien lets out a sigh as he sits on the throne, forced to listen to the cries and screams of the babies which are echoing through the entire keep.
"Alia Green disease, oh how I curse you!" he mumbles nearly inaudible to himself.
"I swear to the creator, someone will pay for this, preferably those tree-hugging druids!"
Meanwhile, behind the secret walls of the Hightower Keep sit Lynesse, Ryder, and Ari. Oh, and Dandy too.
"Let me out of heeeeeeeeeeere!" Dandy screams, pounding his fists against the wall.
"Silly Dandy, don't do that. You'll wake up everyone." Ari replies, a finger on her mouth and a hand on her hips to gesture for Dandy to hush down.
Lynesse claps, the sound echoing through the small and dark room in the castle. She stands, her head almost touching the low ceiling of the hidden room. "Girls, girls!"
Dandylion grunts from his corner. "I hope you happen to know that I am a member of the male race."
Ryder giggles, patting Dandy on the head. "There, there, embrace your inner princess."
Lynesse sighs, perking up and delivering that could silence mobs and feed fifty thousand poor men.
"Friends, sisters, yellow flowers.
I call you here today to alert you of the greatest evil.
Today, a menace has been conceived.
Even worse, two menaces!
And already, we have all seen the gravity of these little devils.
And so, princesses! Will you stand by idle while a greater evil stays under your roof?
And will you let them rot and corrupt the minds of so many of our loved ones?
I come here today to tell you to embrace your duty! Rid the world of the Green spawn!
So raise your weapons. Hold your torches and pitchforks higher!
For if we don't ... the end is nigh.
So, princesses! Take up arms to defend what is true!
For ... they may take our beauty sleep.
And our allowance.
But they shall never take.
Our freeeeeeeeeeeeedum!"
With that, Lynesse drew her baguette from the sheath which hung at her side, rocking back and forth on a wooden horse that was much to small for her.
The whole crowd, even Dandy was left speechless.
Character applying for: Ascher
General activity level: Pretty active, I suppose.
Characters you play currently and a brief description of them:
Ellser Galleon: Brother to Dante Flormai and Alan Galleon, Ellser is a rather calm and thoughtful fellow in comparison to many of the newer generation High Elves. His blood awakened by Aeriel, Ellser is a follower of Aeriel and a Acolyte in the Order of the Mongoose, 'The Ascended'. Now currently a Guide in the Druidic Order, he finds himself commonly teaching seekers/dedicants the way of the Order and nature itself.
Characters you have played in the past and a brief description of them: Ellser is my first, and still on going character. I've not had another character since I joined.
Have you rpd with the Greens before? I haven't role-played with any of the Greens, but I've role-played with Aila Green's alt account, Isabella.
Have you role-played with the Hightowers before? On rare occasions, I have.
What do you envision the character's personality being like? I imagine Ascher being of the mischevious type; cunning when needed, yet hot headed and idiotic, oftening finding himself in fights but otherwise kind hearted and caring to those he loves and wishes to protect. However none of this is set in stone, for a child's personality is molded by the environment around him, so dependant on what he encounters in life, will surely change him.
Have you played a child before?  No, I have not I'm afraid. There is a first time for everything I guess!
What age would you like to start playing?  I would love to start playing at an early age of 2-4, as it is would allow very different RP from what I've experienced before, but I'm not stressed about it, so I'll RP at whatever age you'd prefer!
Proved an role-play sample; this can be screenshots, or chat logs. If you have none of the above, write a situational story about something happening to the character. You may use any topic, and write at any point during the child's life.
A brief early backstory of an old RP character I had. If this does not suffice, I shall write a more up to date one of either Ellser or Ascher.
Many years after the Age Of Rebirth arrived, under the glistening night sky of Valnor, a hastful thickening summer breeze caught the air, forcing the gust to spill through the open barn door; multiple tears fell from his mothers joyful face. Young Arren Scarlet was brought forth into the world. The Scarlet couple and newly born son lived on a farming brach not far from central Lyridel, though the farm was aged and worn in, and the house had taken quite a beating from the weather, it was cherished and brought the family enough money through trade to up-bring the heathy young boy.
Character applying for: I am applying for Ascher.
General activity level: On school days, I am commonly online from 6PM to 11PM-12AM. On weekends I am on quite a lot through day.
Characters you play currently and a brief description of them: I currently roleplay as a Human named Watje. Watje is a talkative and extremely loyal citizen of Salvus. He aspires to be a shopkeeper but always ends up in a bad position. Watje usually runs his mouth much too often and recieves much physical abuse for it. I basically only play Humans when I roleplay, though I am not afraid to roleplay a different race.
Characters you have played in the past and a brief description of them: My past character is Thrasybulos. He was a Human that resided within Salvus as well. He was the town-crier of Salvus and was often liked for it. He was an intelligent man and did not enjoy much comat.
Have you rpd with the Greens before? I have spoken to Count Green at least once or twice, but that is it.
Have you rpd with the Hightowers before? I roleplay with the Hightowers almost every single day, as they are the rulers of my character's city. I enjoy roleplaying with the Hightowers very much.
What do you envision the character's personality being like? I do not enjoy much combat roleplay, so he will most likely be more sophisticated and have a big personality. He is very jealous of Lancel as he is heir to the throne. He would often try to kiss up or hang around Lancel just to gain the experience of what it would be like to be in such a high position. He is very friendly with those of lower class, as he much enjoys the company of men and women of all kinds around him. He is more charitable than other nobles and would probably be scolded for it.
Have you played a child before? I have never roleplayed a child, but I get the gist of it. After all, I was a child myself once and understand the events of maturity and growing up. I hope this will be my first child character so that I gain the experience of roleplaying one.
What age would you like to start playing? I would enjoy starting the child at age 8-10 years old.
Proved an rp sample; this can be screenshots, or chat logs. If you have none of the above, write a situational story about something happening to the character. You may use any topic, and write at any point during the child's life.
Ascher was the age of 12 when he first realized what poverty was like. What it caused people to do, how it effected people's actions, the like. He was strolling down an alley way when him and one of his good friends, a commoner, were held up. The cutt-throat was a gritty old man, with most of his teeth missing. He did not wear shoes and it was obvious the last bath he took was when he was dumped in the capital bay or something like that. Ascher was terrified, too terrified to even holler for the Shields to aid him.
"You... ye... aye, I know o' yeh... ye'am Prince Ascher," the cutt-throat muttered under his breath, slowly moving his rusted dagger in and out towards Ascher. "I'll make a fortune off yeh, innit. Jus' picture 'et.. me, holdin' a son o' teh King for ransom.. I'll ask fer 5,000 coins, no, 10,000..."
The man continued to mumble as he examined Ascher and his friend up and down, up and down. A cold atmosphere was wrapped around the thief, and Ascher knew from the start he was troubled.
"N-No sir, no. I ask of you, I plead of you," Ascher begged of the thief. "I am but a boy, a boy of your kind," Ascher removed his crown (circlet?), and brought it to his chest. "You will n-not get anything from my father, sir.. he is of old age. All you will do is bring his end."
The thief inclined his head at the thought of causing pain and death to an old, kind man like King James. His mouth opened and closed, as if he was thinking. The man laid his dagger down in a mutual understanding with Ascher. Ascher smiled, bowing his head slightly.
"I... I am sorry, me Prince," the thief went on to apologize to Ascher and his friend. "I didn't think o' it, causin' someone all tha' pain.."
Ascher nodded to the thief.
"It is of no problem to me, sir; however, a bigger dilemma to me is what brought you to this stage. Of what brought you to robbing other citizens,"
The thief frowned. "I... I dun' 'ave much coin, 'ye.."
Ascher responded once more with a nod. He laid a bag of coins close to the thief, who responded with wide-eyes.
"F-Fer me, m'prince? I... I thank yeh," the man, thief no longer, picked up the coins and ran off gleefully, almost jumping with joy.
Ascher smiled, knowing he donated to something that would make the streets of Salvus safer. Satisfied, him and his friend walked to Dawn's Bakery to grab a snack.
Ruby shivers her tiny legs in the frozen grass. She is wrapped in only a coat of rough cloth, and her leg protrudes at an odd angle. She relives the experience of the night. First, she was going on a stroll with her former carer, Adreonel. At some point during the night, he snapped, tossing her off a hillside and breaking her leg. She was barely able to escape, climbing into a bush and limping around. Now, she sees a few women in green robes, with yellow crosses streaked upon them. She crawls to them, screaming. The share dialogue which she has no comprehension of.  They carry her to a large fort, where they fix her leg and treat her gently.
