Telanir 6975 Popular Post Share Posted April 22, 2013 Now you and your buddies can drink yourselves unconscious! Hello everyone, today I present to you the Brewery plugin. Essentially, this plugin includes a way to brew ale, for you to drink and get drunk on. Perfect. I'm hoping that this will bring new aspects of roleplay to Lord of the Craft, that breweries will sprout up and inns will prosper on good ale, for dwarves to argue on what ale is best, and whatever else you guys might conjure up. ^-^ Without further waiting, I present to you the plugin usage. Update 30/04/2013: Barrels may now be made using any type of wood logs. Barrels now hold double the brew. Achieving good effects in brews has become more difficult. Brew effects now last longer. Added sound effects to brewing. Brew aging time required increased. Bugfixes 23/04/2013: You may now shift-click your seeds when mixing, although it is highly recommended that you don't do that. Barrels have also been fixed, and you shouldn't be having any problems anymore. Acquiring Barley Seeds The very first step to becoming a brewer, is crafting yourself a nice sickle with the following recipe: Now, a sickle doesn't have to be made using iron. You can use any material you like that other tools can be made out of, although I don't know why you would want to waste gold or diamonds on one... Once you have acquired a sickle, it is time to explore! You can harvest grass and tall grass with a sickle by right clicking, and every once in a while, if you are lucky, a barley seed will pop out at you. Mixing Barley Seeds While you can acquire barley seeds from anywhere, seeds will have a different quality to them depending on what biome you are in. Different combinations of barley seeds will result in different brew qualities. Clarification: Once you mix two barley seeds together, there is a chance you will get qualities from both, qualities from just one of them, or lose all. There is some luck involved here too! Farming Once you are happy with your barley seeds, you can plant them on tilled ground! Make sure there is adequate water, and you can harvest the barley seeds once you are done. This works the same as potatoes, carrots, and etc. Once you harvest the crop you will get barley seeds and hops, and are ready to move on. Brewing When brewing, there are a few prerequisites. You need: Cauldron Water Hops Additional (optional) Once you fill a cauldron with water, left-click on it with hops in your hand, and then if you feel like it, you can add something else to improve the taste or quality of the brew. e.g. apple, wheat, sapling, flower, rotten flesh, etc. Retrieving the Brew Once you have finished your concoction, you will need to make a few mugs to retrieve the brew. With the mug in hand, left-click on the cauldron, and retrieve your precious brew. Drinking to your Hearts Content After retrieving your newly brewed ale, you can drink if by left-clicking! Or, what you can do, is you can right-click to place the brew on the ground, and right-click on the placed brew to drink! However, it is far from recommended to drink a brew right from the cauldron... you will get sick. Which brings me to the next point. Aging and Storing your Brew Aging a brew is a very important stage of the process. Once brewed, a brew will have negative effects, however, they can be cancelled by aging the brew. The longer a brew stays in a barrel and ages, the more the negative effects are cancelled out. Of course, there is a maximum age, and if you still get negative effects after reaching it, the barley seed combination is bad. So, how do you actually age the brew? You place it in a barrel which can be crafted like so: There you go! Now you have a barrel. Once you place the barrels, it will automatically place a wood log and a tripwire hook on it for you. After you have placed a barrel, you can store your brew in it by right-clicking with the brew in your hand on the nozzle of the barrel (tripwire hook). While brew is in a barrel it will naturally age, and become better with time. You can retrieve the brew from the barrel at any time by right-clicking on the nozzle (tripwire hook) with a mug in your hand. Custom-naming your Brew If you are Gold VIP and above, you can name the brew in your hand a certain custom name, by typing: "/brew name Custom Name of My Brew" Now, we are giving you guys this privilege with a catch. Your name will be attached to the brew once you rename it, so if you name it anything really bad, you will be caught. If a custom named brew is placed down and picked up, or put in a barrel, it will lose the custom name, and will have to be re-named again. Basically, name your brew before giving it to the customer and everything will be fine. If you are a victim of a badly named brew, make a modreq and state the nature of your injury... problem? Conclusion: I'm very excited to see what will come from this plugin, and I hope you guys can't wait to get your characters drunk too. If you want a certain combination of barley seeds to be a certain name, shoot me a pm, as well as the biomes the drink should be from, and I will add it in privately. Certain combinations of barley seeds will give you different in-game effects, so do some experimenting! Make a big lab with scientists bustling around in white robes making the perfect concoction, make a big basement in your parents house and fill it up with ale barrels... the possibilities are endless. *raises drink* "This is for you, community. Enjoy!"

Ever 2648 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Hmm. What happened to that one thread, the "give us brew names and information" thread? Are we disregarding that now, since we can custom name ales (well, some of us)?

Telanir 6975 Author Share Posted April 22, 2013 Hmm. What happened to that one thread, the "give us brew names and information" thread? Are we disregarding that now, since we can custom name ales (well, some of us)? Those brews have been added to certain barley seed combinations. Once someone is lucky enough, they will get a custom named brew from those recipes, and get to enjoy that custom named brew. :3 If the brew isn't custom named, you just get a standard named 'Brew', and if you think that is too boring, you can contact me and I will add a name for that combination, or if you like, you can tell me what to name it.
