Konrad stood over the grave behind the Campbell tent, staring at the grave of his once friend and comrad

Eoghan Campbell III, Chieftain of Clan Campbell, and Earl of the Adunian people...

Staring at the simple, undecorated grave, he let out a sigh

"Always zo brash, mein freund..."

He laid a chain with a small black eagle on the chain at the foot of the grave

"I hope you find refuge in vhatever Heaven you believe in..."

Konrad let out a small prayer, and turned, walking off

((This is for when Starke DOES get the news))

Starke McHaryn was trotting the emporers roads with a handful of Ildician knights. Recent events weighed heavily on his mind, with a grunt and a creak of saddles he and his men wheeled their mounts and were preparing to head for home, just before he gave the order to move out an adunian mountain hawk bearing strange colourings landed on the pommel of his saddle, lifting its leg, Starke took the tightly rolled message and read it quickley, his face remained neutral but his insides were a mixture of emotions, anger at the final act not being his own sword, joy at the annoying thorns final disappearance, irony at the way he died.

Raising his voice he addressed the men surrounding him, companions one and all, brothers, men he had personally fought alongside against the Campbells.

"Eoghan "Oath Breaker" Campbell has been slain, slain by his own, *laughs bitterly without a trace of humour* the bastard was as much an Earl as an Orenian serf. He called himself an earl, yet he had no earldom. He claimed he had honour but broke his word like chaff in the wind, the stubborn bastard was a coward at heart, a traitor, a man who branded all Campbells as such. My only regret is that he wasn't castrated before they finished him, at least then we know for surety nothing else will come from his seed."

Starke wheeled his horse and gave the command. Sir Leon "the burning cross' De'Travenchi was a picture of glee, his eyes only barely disguising the joy he felt at a painful death, the passion only dimmed by the fact he didn't do it himself. Sir Aldari as always was grim and silent, taking the news with a neutral tone, the only evidence of him registering the news was a slight nod of his head, Sir Jon simply smiled with a raise of his eyebrows before kicking his mount, while Sir Jock McHaryn guffawed loudly making a crude comment as to the method of Eoghans death. All in all the group was as grim as the mood in a grave yard with slight touches of joyful smiles, coming then disappearing as quickley as they came.
