The Elven Menace

A new poster is placed upon the billboards of all cities, towns, and villages of Oren, while the old propaganda posters are all removed. It reads:

"Illegal posting of paintings depicting propaganda will not be tolerated. The Imperial Crown Princess' delicate sensibilities are offended by the sight of these poorly transcribed and copied postings. We politely request individual cease and desist such mindless cacophony and instead bring their worries and concerns to the Imperial Family and Privy Council at the Imperial Palace in the Capital, Abresi. We are not savages; Any issues within the Empire can be solved peaceably and without the waste of such large quantities of paper."

Rufus, the peasant culprit behind the "ape" poster and the message following it, angrily looks on at the new posters. He can't read, so he merely tears up one he finds along the Emperor's road. He heads off to Salvus to try and gather any like-minded peasants, all while carrying a pitchfork and lit torch.

One will find the posters and propoganda now circulating through the Oren "underground" in highly trafficked black markets, winesinks, taverns, gambling dens, brothels, and other like minded places. People speak with hushed whispers and hurried tongues, spreading rumors that the Empire's aristocracy is influenced, coerced, and manipulated by the pointed eared folk. They say that the root of this stems from Hightower and Salvus, and the Privy Council itself is under such power. Only the staunch, resolute "crusaders" that are the Rose, the Crow, and the Flayed Man, stand against the corruption that kills peace, prosperity, and murders the innocent. An anti-elf sentiment can be easily noticed around Oren as the people are gradually swayed towards the "just cause of humanity".

Rufus, on his campaigning spree, stops along Baile, the Valois lands, and Aldersberg, pasting up some hand-drawn sketches of Thomas Chivay.

Thomas Chivay blinks, and then smiles, stroking his beard, "They sure got it right."
