Heff 2460 Share Posted April 29, 2013 A hooded man with an unseen face watches from the rooftop. His only visible trait are his glowing blue eyes. Ryan Darkwood makes a mental note of gathering info on this "elven oppression" and leaps onto the wall of Salvus and then pushes off into the forest outside the city, his elven ears are revealed as he leaves. Peter Chivay 2494 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Peter rubs his beard in a lavish manner, smoking deep into a pipe when he hears word of the man and his preachings. Motioning over toward his former squire, he speaks out, "Boy, get meh' eh' piece o' parchment. An' deliver this letter to this... man." Awaiting the return of the Knight, Peter readies his quill in his ink well. Once receiving the paper, Peter's writing is fast yet eloquent in its wake. He begins writing the letter: - On the Elven Question - Dearest reader, it has come to my attention that you to have found yourself contemplation a very difficult question. that being the Elvish race. It has been a long and difficult question, however I shall condense my thesis into a short and cogent sample that may help you answer further thoughts about this 'question'. Hypothesis one: The Half Blooded Empire [Abridged version] The Orenian Empire has long been the standing human power of the realm, forever acting as a beacon to all humans that may come to it. However, since the death of Saint Owyn (Blessed be his name) the Orenian Empire has allowed the Elves to climb the ranks of its bureaucracy and thus plunge it further into Economic and Social despair. With an Elf in power, they are no longer looking out for the power of the Human race and its nation, they only seek external gain through means of nobility. A true plague on the Empire. Elves are known to be assassins, thiefs, and smugglers, yet we allow them to rule the land? A pitiful sight. Hypothesis two: The Answer? [Abridged version] We have - I would say, taken the question of Elves as our focal point. The White Rose first attempted to solve the Elvish question by action, and in this connection, by out fighting the Elvish race externally and internally. However, Elven blood is so deeply rooted in this so called 'Human Empire' their attempts were met with extreme dissatisfaction throughout the entirety of the Empire's realm. To what extent can a war be waged on an enemy, when the enemy is seen as a friend? The Elvish question is exactly the same as deforsestation for a citadel. Getting rid of Elves isn't a matter of ideology, but a process of beautification. - Thesis by 'Petours Chivus' - The Elvish Question [Abridged] The letter is then sealed and sent to the man through means of courier.
Komodo 140 Share Posted April 29, 2013 A mass of propaganda leaflets, posters, and pamphlets begin to appear about the major Oren urban centers such as Abresi, and Salvus with the new popular motto "Halt the Elf!" . It would seem that several of these are passed out by men with crow sigils on their boiled leather and shields.
Korth :-) 52 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Korthos picks up a flier dropped by the crows, and reads it. He then chuckles, crumbles the paper, and eats it, strolling on.
Esterlen 4499 Share Posted April 29, 2013 A strange-looking poster is seen hanging in many settlements of Oren. It depicts a rather caricatured and falsified countenance that could barely pass (Perhaps in a low-light condition) as Prince Avern'len. WE MUST STOP HIM
CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Prince Avern'len passes through the White Rose checkpoint on his most recent journey from Oren. Catching sight of the odd flash of parchment, he stops to inspect it. Rubbing the back of his neck as he squints at the picture, he then leads his pony onward back to Malinor. Speaking to his small steed with an even smaller chuckle he says... "I wonder who that was, llir. I've never seen any Mali who looks like that. Or maybe it was a Valah... No, no, the ears were certainly Mali. "
Avacyn 1712 Share Posted April 29, 2013 A peasant begins pasting posters among the settlements Oren. A note at the bottom, obviously not written by the disgusting, illiterate peasant reads: "PEOPLE OF OREN! FOR TOO LONG HAVE WE ALLOWED THE FILTH OF THE POINTY-EARED TO PLAGUE OUR GREAT NATION! EVEN NOW, AS WE SPEAK, THE SLIMY MALI SIT ATOP THE ONCE-PROUD THRONES OF NOBILITY. WE NEED TO GIVE OREN BACK TO THE PEOPLE! BACK TO THE HUMANS! OREN FOR THE HUMANS!" Esterlen 4499 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Another poster is added to the boards around the country. The red figures are noticeably elves. ((Posted this just as you said to stop. Apologies, I thought they were amusing. I shall cease and desist now.))
Blundermore 2741 Share Posted April 30, 2013 *Looking around at all the posters, Blundermore mumbles a bit before saying* "What the? What is all this? What is that man holding in his hand? Some sort of wooden weapon? Why does it look like it has more to it with all that metal apon one end, as though it is some sort of crossbow? What is with all these hats as well? I've never seen anyone ever wear such hats or even those clothes. I don't even understand anymore what they are trying to get across, it is as though they're now just going into the realm of fantasy with some of these pictures. Bah! Silly childish fantasys by the likes. People will never wear clothes like that, or look like that as long as the light in the seven skies rise and fall... Come the end of days and all beached apon by the fires of war before this hellish scene they depict would ever come true..." *Mumbling once more to himself he turns to leave* ((Yeah... enough with the OOC pictures being posted IC, half of them don't even make sense in our timeline or world. Such as a man holding a flipping rifle... and yes I did make a reference to an inspector calls by J. B. Priestley :P))
Baconthief 682 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Starts looking at the various propaganda in Oren, Khel narrows his eyes at the helmets that the soldiers of the Central Nations would of worn in WWI. His eyebrow begins to twitch in attempts to raise an eyebrow. "How are those even elven helmets? They look more of the helmets the mortals would wear." Khel again squints at the poster of King Kong holding the woman in his arms "That's suppose to be an elf?" Khel promptly leaves, the strange propaganda causing him to have a massive head ache from all the confusion. Those humans have quiet an active imagination.
Stevie 1598 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Thomas Chivay nods, "I like these posters." His son, Robert, who was accompanying him nods as well, "Me too, father." The two head on their way; Thomas contemplating the implementation of these new helmets and garb, and Robert wondering if the ape depicted was in fact a monster needing to be slain.
