A Lord Steps Down

*Dreek stands in the throne room, thinking over the recent events. Nodding his head, he lays a sheet of paper on the obsidian throne. Looking around to make sure no one saw him, Dreek exits the throne room and the city, heading to his new home.*

Kardel's cracked pale lips morph into a wicked smile, as he mutters to himself quietly, after hearing the news "All da lords be leavin'. . .Forin, Forin, Forin. . .ye shuud 'ave listened ta meh. Dey sey mah rebellion wus un stuped muuve, ye all be wrung. . .ah foresaw dis, ah foresaw da ruin! Ah even told Forin befure da rebellion, but nae, dis kingdum will fall. . .an' will rise again undah un new darker pouer. Ah wurned ye all. . .ah wurned ye. . .ah wurned ye. . " 

 

Kardel is silent once more, as he looks behind him at the grove of reagents inside the guild headquarters "An' w'en all fails. . .ah will succeed, 'cause ah be ready. Ah wos woise, an' evan mayde meself un bunker, ta ensure dat mah kind continues existin'. DEY will nevah get meh, because ah nou. . .ah saw et. . .ah postponed et. . .ah will prevent et."

 

The old dwarf cackles madly in his grim, cold halls under the mountains of the dwarven valley. Maybe his words are but the ramblings of a crazy old dwarf that has finally lost his mind, or maybe they are a prophetic truth. No matter how you see it, there is truth in these words; the kingdom is slowly failing.
