Intro:

 

 Hello! Most of you are probably wondering why your GIFs aren't working on the LoC forums. Well it's farily simple to fix, I'll take you through a step by step tutorial on how to get your GIF up and moving!

 

 

~ Step One ~

 

 Firstly, you will want to grab a GIF, make sure to stay within the server rules!

 

~ Step Two ~

 

 Secondly, after grabbing your GIF you will want to head over to GIFmagic, it allows one to edit their GIF so that animations work on certain forums!

~ Step Three ~

 

 Thirdly, you will want to go to file, then open, afterwards over to Upload or Fetch from Net. Upload is uploading a GIF which you have downloaded to your computer, and Fetch from Net is where you copy a GIF's image URL and copy it into the box.

 

  

 

~ Step Four ~

 

 Fourthly, you will want to go to the edit tab, then over to Size / Crop, the finally over to Resize. You will want to click resize.

 

  

 

~ Step Five ~

 

 Fifthly, you will want to un-check the 'Constrain Proportions' box, or else your GIF will not be editable. After un-checking the box you'll want top enter 200 within the Width box, you can choose what ever height that fits your likings, though 250 looks good on the forums in my prospective. After, you'd want to click that 'OK' button.

 

 

~ Step Six ~

 

 Phew, you're almost done! You will now want to copy the image URL, then import it as your avatar on the LoC forums. After all these steps your GIF is guaranteed to work!

 Odd... My GIF is off tumblr, so is my example one I was using. Are you sure you resized it correctly and un-checked 'restrained proportions'?

I suppose this isn't necroing because this is still a useful topic that I've used today ^_^

 

I found that the website you linked didn't support gives over 1.2mb, so I did a quick google search and I found this website which works like a charm: http://www.online-image-editor.com/

Of course I had to upload it to an image sharing website, but that's no big trouble. Works like a charm :D

I generally use Dropbox's Public folder feature. Plenty of space for gifs, you can keep them on your pc, and quickly get the url just by right clicking them. (If you don't have a public folder click this:  https://www.dropbox.com/enable_public_folder)
