History: Emerilla was raised in Abresi by her adoptive mother and father. Her father was a monster hunter, and her mother was a tailor. She had no siblings growing up, and her parents were quite protective of her. From a young age her mother wished for her to follow in her footsteps, to become a tailor and settle down. This was not what Emerilla wanted however, herself taking more after her father. This did not stop her mother from trying to ensure her daughter would be able to manage a household however, and so she taught Emerilla the basics of cooking and cleaning, as well as sewing.

When Emerilla turned twelve her father decided she was old enough to accompany him on a trip. It would be short, only two days out on the road, hunting monsters. Emerilla was to watch, and not join in, or so her mother warned them both. As soon as they were far enough away from the house they shared a knowing grin and Emerilla was given a stone sword by her father. He cautioned her to stay behind him however, and that she would merely be learning techniques, not truly fighting the monsters. Emerilla agreed to this, and so they were off. Heading towards Salvus, they came across few monsters. The occasional spider would climb down from a tree or a skeleton would appear from behind a tree. Her father made certain that Emerilla was kept safe, and that she learned to be aware of her surroundings.

By nightfall they had set up camp and had a fire going. Once having checked to ensure that the area was free of monsters, Henry, Emerilla's father, began to teach her the very basics. Emerilla was a bright, attentive student though not a fast learner. Having been raised around swords and bows, she knew the basic safety steps of each, and to not grab a sword by the 'sharp' side (which she had once done as an eight year old.) She lacked proper form in either however, and after some debating, Henry decided it would be safer for her to learn a bow first. The first night Emerilla was taught how to string an arrow and how to release the string without catching her arm on it. This took many tries, and by the time morning came Emerilla had a rather large red mark on her right arm and was quite sore. Henry was patient with his daughter however, and so she had made some progress.

The next night Henry worked with her more on releasing the string. Halfway through the night she finally began to catch on, now capable of releasing the arrow without the string slapping the side of her arm. Proud of his daughter's accomplishment, Henry gave into her pleadings to learn to aim. He cautioned her to aim for a tree, not a monster. This was due to his belief that though they hunted the monsters, it was cruel to inflict unneeded pain upon them, and best to end their life as painlessly as possible. Emerilla agreed, and so she spent the rest of the second night practicing her aim on a tree while Henry slayed the monsters that strayed too close to camp.

They slept until noon before finally rolling up the tent and putting the fire out. Heading home, Henry cautioned Emerilla not to mention the practice to her mother. Emerilla agreed, knowing her mother would only worry. They traveled for the rest of the day, reaching home by nightfall. Glancing at the doorway, Henry could not help but smile at his wife, leaning against the wall of the house, a worried expression etched on her face. Once their eyes met, Alice, Emerilla's mother, rushed down and embraced the both of them. It was a joyous occasion, and Alice could not be more proud of her husband and daughter.

Over the course of Emerilla's teen years she and her father continued to go on trips together. Occasionally Henry would leave her behind, such as when Alice would have bouts of illness. Emerilla did not argue, knowing her mother suffered fragile health at times. Aside from hunting monsters, Emerilla's teen years were spent learning from her mother and trying new things, such as farming and fishing. She was not very good at fishing, yet was capable of keeping a small flower alive for a fairly short period of time.

Upon reaching the age of twenty, Emerilla began to grow tired of Abresi. She began to go on longer and longer hunting trips, often times without her father. Alice's health had began to stabilize, and so Emerilla no longer was needed at home to tend to her mother. in her adventurous spirits, Emerilla often traveled far from Abresi, even outside of Oren on occasion. For five years she explored, hunted, and traveled from town to town, never lingering in one place for long. This was the life she enjoyed, the life she grew up with to a degree.

Then the day came when she passed by Salvus. Emerilla had passed by here often, yet had never entered the city. It was close enough to morning, she decided, that she may as well rest here for the day, praying at the church if there was one. Sheathing her stone sword, Emerilla walked through the gate. The lion statue had instantly caught her attention, and shortly after the church captured her gaze. With relief, she headed inside of it to pray.

Will continue later.
