You find this, by chance or misfortune. It is a piece of paper, and now you look upon it.

Unknown Year, the Second Rising of the Moon

A Writing by Sa'Quorak, or what is left of him

This writing shall entail the introduction of new Guardians of our lives

The Moon Shields

Introduction

Metztli is our one true Goddess. Our maker, and our own Mother. She is our blood in one body. Our thoughts in one head. And all our beating hearts in her chest. We are hers, and she has brought unto us a new set of guarding watchers. Brought unto us again, like a leaf comes back in the Spring. This writing will pursue the possibility of these guardians. And what they could mean. I, Sa'Quorak, will speak of what I have seen. And speak of how this alters what we know of our Muuna.

The Three Shields of the Moon

Metztli has brought unto us three shields.

From the great skies above, Metztli is. And she provides to us three valiant Guardians. These 'Moon Shields' are around us, at all times. In birds, in Ocelots, even sometimes in the trees themselves. However. The Three each have their own reservations as to which they wish to appear as.

The Three are literal. There are three of them. Three Ancient Kharajyr whom have made Metztli and her children proud. I cannot say whom they are, as that would not be my place, for I do not know. But I have the descriptions, for I seen them myself.

The Shield of Trial

Strong, and striped. This Shield watches over the trials of adulthood. He, as he appeared male, manages the temperature of the island that day, or how raining the trials. How much sun is allowed out to speak. And how much the Moon is allowed to breath. He gives our children strength to learn in the trials, hoping that one day they match his mightiness. It is known that The Shield of Trial would punish those whom disobey their trialmasters, and avoid their trials entirely.

The Shield of Labor

Enduring, and patched with dots. This Shield watches over the labor our people perform. She, as she appeared female, manages the weight of logs that we carry, or the toughness of the stone we mine. How much we can carry, and how much we deserve in reward. She gives our people the endurance to continue work thoroughly each day, as they should. It is said that she carries a whip, soft and gentle on one side, but thick and bristled on the other. One side for the Kharajyr whom do not work. The other for the Apes that do not bow.

The Shield of Family

Nurturing, and with rings all over. This Shield watches over families of our people. He, as he appeared male, manages the production of food, that will then be placed onto the tables of our dens. He gives our people the stomach to grow into strong and fulfilling Kharajyr. He allows us the ability to grow as a child, and works with the shield of Trial to test us so we grow faithful to Karakatua and her jungle. It is known that he would carry a book in one hand, to teach us our past, and a staff in the other, to herd our children to play.

--------------------------------------------------------

Our three Moon Shields help us develop as Kharajyr, and help us learn as people. But it is the discovery of such guardians that you so wish to know, isn't it? I shall tell you.

--------------------------------------------------------

It was in the darkness of the Temple, Metztli's Temple on Karakatua. I sat there, cursed and broken. Black and red, with no stripes, dots nor rings. I was nothing. But then, a great vision beheld my eyes. A Kharajyr, light and floating swept my onto my feet and talked with a voice that pierced my ears with swift smoothness.

I was stood. And I was told of his kind. He began to tell me of the Guardians, that there were three. But he told me I could only learn if I had dedicated myself to doing so, as I was nothing. A child. I was brought out of the Temple, and commanded to enact my Cub Trials once more. There stood a great orange Tigrasi, illuminating in the dark Jungle. He spoke with a fierceness to his tongue. Like a rasp, as if he was the first to speak in existence. He commanded me to climb, dodge and fight. And so I did.

Then came another figure. A female Kharajyr, whom was a strong Cheetrah, who was quicker to work than bees to honey. She commanded that I cut trees, mined mines and hunted game. She commanded that I fetch her so many kinds of flowers, grasses and weeds. And she taught me the ways of work, and labor.

Then finally, came the last. This time, no commands were given, and I was the leader. The Kharajyr lowered himself to me, so that I could see his Leparda face, and told me that I am to teach the cubs he had brought with him the truth of life. Trial and Labor. I took the Cubs in the trees, we climbed and climbed until the air was thin and heavy at the same time. The top, we shot arrows at the birds. We shot at the trees, and we swung on the vines. We fought, mined and cut. We taught, ate and cooked. And that was when they faded into the skies. The figures returned, and told me of how I have done a great service to Metztli, as they do. They announced that I have taught the Cubs that had died in the flames of Kalos to fly in the skies like an adult. As they had not completed their trials. And I looked upon myself, and saw myself brown and white, anew.

This is not nothing. This could even be everything. Kharajyr, I implore you to see reason in my words this day. For they speak of wiser things that I even begin to understand.

May the moon of Metztli be forever protected.

Natayshi shakes her head upon reading the notice, she hobbles away from it, only to return with a small torn bit of parchment with a brief messy ink sentence across it. It reads:

"Come see Natayshi. We'll talk of this in private."
