*Alexander stands aside William on the balcony, overlooking the amassing troops. Smiling as he takes a small banner up, raising it up the flag pole. The men would raise their swords and chant as they saw the -Horen- house banner.*

Pius blinks as he turns to Gladius Flay "Do they not understand that the two kingdoms are different.... and he's not the regent of this one...?" He lightly places his hand on his face at the stupidity.

Throdo laughs at Pius' stupidity

((Burkester, that literally makes no sense, William never left.

((Galahar is a separate kingdom so anything done in old oren doesn't affect this at all. Does that open your eyes young one?))

(( you usurped the Kingdom of Oren and changed its name. You rebelled and took Oren's lands. That is high treason and if I remember, Kais can pk Pius.$)

((Yeah, you rebelled and crowned yourself king of a new kingdom with all Oren's land. The key word there is rebelled. And since Kais never surrendered, you're still rebelling.))

((You can call yourself a King, but you're a Petty King as in Crusader Kings. You claimed all of Oren's lands for The Kingdom of Galahar, that is beyond High Treason. I'd advise to stop your shenanigans before Kais permanently kills your character.))

((If I'm not mistaken, the Oren Noble PK Clause works both ways, yes? So if Pius wins, he can PK William Horen III? I think whether or not that's still in effect given the collapse of the Empire is one for Kais and Burkester to mutually decide.

Anyway, Pius has plenty of men and the backing of House Flay. IC it probably appears to him that he holds all the cards, making him unlikely to back down. Even if William III does muster an army strong enough to retake the throne, Pius knows the fate of those who commit High Treason. He'll probably fight to the last man rather than surrender, as he knows he'll be executed either way.

As to the legitimacy of his rule (ala Crusader Kings), the only consequence for flying in the face of laws of succession is to not be acknowledged as legitimate by the other kingdoms. Karakatua, Malinor, Haelunor and Urguan aren't human kingdoms and thus pay no heed to such, Salvus and Adunia follow Urguan's lead, so the only nation refusing to acknowledge him is Oren. Given he holds all of their land and has the troops to defend it, I doubt that bothers him much.

Nigel sighs upon hearing the news.

"These days, legitimacy seems more and more to rely on the number of swords one has."

))

"Seems t'e me this contest between Pius I and William Horen III'll onleh end when one stands over t'e dead body of t'e other."

((Can we get some clear answers to all of this, because I hope I'm not the only one confused here.

1. Is this even a competition for the throne of Oren any longer with the declaration of an independent Galahar?

2. Are Goddard and all his supporters distinctly on the side of William?

3. Kais, this is directed at you, are you planning on continuing to play William? I thought I had heard you had no intention to continue him and were giving it up to Nero. If I am wrong please correct me.

4. A general description of what is going on and whether a war will happen would be helpful; Preferably written by a neutral party or staff member. ))

((I'm not exactly a neutral party, nor a staff member, but I trust in my objectivity.

1. While Galahar has declared their own independence (this claim has not been recognized by any sovereign state, nor in any other way established), they still intend to "exact vengeance" on the Kingdom of Oren. They essentially intend to remove all Oren claims and claim said land as Galahar's.))

2. Yes. Goddard is the Lord High Regent for William Horen III, and his will is the crown's. Any who swear fealty to Oren, swear fealty to William Horen III, whose regent is Goddard I.))

3.

(( William is king Burk is fighting for Oren lands to turn it into the kingdom of Galahar it is a civil war as he has not yet achieved independence so it is Oren vs Oren I do intend to keep playing William ))

4. The Flay-Silverblades walked into Abresi and declared themselves the monarchs when Kais wasn't able to get on Minecraft for whatever reason for a period of time (about a day and a half), until Goddard I was named Lord High Regent, and they were kicked out. The Flay-Silverblades then declared their holdings independent of the Crown, and stated their intent to exact vengeance on Oren for the snub. That's how this all started.

While it is not clear, due to quite recent events, whether or not the war will in fact happen (for one, we have yet to see a warclaim), that is still the course events are taking. Galahar, led by the Flays, will try and take Oren for its own. Oren will try and defend its land, and reestablish claim to the land in revolt. Oren recognizes Galahar as the Duchy of Furnestock, but does not recognize its claim to sovereignty, and sees its residents and allies as oath-breakers and traitors to be dealt with according to the will of the King.))
